All most every piece of clothing they have sent me is defective.
Have made many attempts at buying clothing from David Jones online and almost every item they send me is of poor quality and needs to be returned.
They usually appear to send clothing that has been returned or floor stock no one will buy because it’s a poor quality defective item. Have to be very lucky to get a fresh item in manufacturer packaging, which is less likely a poor quality defective item. So I don’t get to keep much and miss out because they have no quality control and just through off defective stock and they don’t have the clothi...ng in store to pick through. They miss out of my sale. Have wasted so many hours on their website trying to get clothing on sale while it’s in stock( very rarely is). If they have only 1 or a few items in stock they are very likely defective items. The few defects they can’t sell instore or few that just got returned.

I bought a vacuum cleaner from David Jones but after 2 months it started giving me trouble.
When I took it to the store they completely refuse to take responsibility of the product.
And they told me they can’t do anything about It.
After I spoke to their Manger they took my vacuum and they were suppose to send it to the company and get it fixed within 10 working days..
But these guys did not sent my vacuum to the company and after 3 weeks when I ring the company to find out what is happening with my Vacuum. Then I found out these guys did not even sent it.
These were the Dyson staff at David Jones high point..

My partner went to the Bourke street store to buy an air fryer; he came back totally fed up and frustrated because he couldn't get anyone to help him so we both went there the next day; as always they were out of stock (they had what we wanted on display but refused to sell that) so I had to put in an order and have it delivered which I'm loathe to do as the last 2 orders were wrong and had to be returned. No surprise but yes of course, they sent the wrong product so now I have to waste time and leave work to go back and get a refund. We only came here because we were given a gift card otherwise I wouldn't go anywhere near this useless place. I doubt that they will be around for long.
Refused to abide by ACCC consumer rights on their own website.
Bought an iPad Pro, got home and as soon as I started tapping it it made loud cracking noises, called Apple suggested I go back and exchange it. Called [name removed] at Bourke Street store, told me if he hears the cracking noise he would exchange it, got there with my child and [name removed] immediately told me I would have to leave the store and go to a Mac Store in Collins street to get a report before he could do anything, he refused to even inspect it! I quoted their website (see below) and he said he couldn't do anything unless I had a r...eport. Asked for a refund, exchange, anything. Didn't want a $1500 product that is making strange cracking noises every-time I touch it. He called his manager and same thing. Told me that their contract with Apple states 'no refunds or exchanges without a report' So what would happened if I purchased it and it was broken in half? Intimidated and disappointed. Have been a long term loyal customer. Can't imagine they will be in business much longer. Please try and avoid them. They do not follow ACCC laws and make their own rules which are simply bias and not fair to us as customers. Its 2020 not 1980! "As a consumer, you are entitled to the benefit of statutory consumer guarantees in respect of items or services purchased from David Jones. If you believe an item or services is faulty, not of acceptable quality, does not match the description provided or is not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a remedy under the Australian or New Zealand Consumer Law"
Slow process in refunding to my Afterpay account
Took 10 days to process the refund into my Afterpay account. This is unlike other merchants that can do the refund immediately at cash registers. Had to call them multiple times to discuss this issue. No wonder why everyone prefer to shop at other retailers. Furthermore, I am still waiting for my refund until now.
Went to David Jones Chadstone to exchange a present I purchased for Christmas. My usual store where I am a long time customer who purchases a lot here each visit. I had put the receipts on the items tag so I don't loose them, something I always do incase of needing an exchange. I didn't realise that one item had the wrong receipt. Sales lady in the children's area who had the most appalling customer service said no return on 2nd item as I had the wrong receipt and their policy changed. I spoke with the manager who was just as rude and flogged m...e off. An item in mint condition with tags and I just wanted the bigger size. Went out and a friend called me, being in the moment I told her what happened. She told me that she once needed to exchange and manager did. So I rang head office, mainly for the appalling way I was spoken to. Girl I spoke to said that it was possible and she would get someone to call me. Guess who called me, the same manager who again gave me the same conversation and said he would think about it and call me back tomorrow. Really? What a pathetic response. Waste of time. Will I ever shop here again? NO! David Jones has they been willing would have continued to have a great customer and if the bigger size not available I would have got something else, most likely more expensive. David Jones loose here. My experience is also on my social media accounts and I won't shop here. Sales down at David Jones. Start employing staff that have outstanding customer service. Even smaller stores over Christmas exchange even when there is no receipt. Will shop on line. A friend of mine mentioned Myers exchanged for over Christmas as a gesture of good. That's good service is all about. David Jones can spend heaps on advertising but word of mouth and social media can be far more better if treatment of customers comes first. I may have a perfectly unused item with tags that is useless to me but David Jones has lost customers. Disgusting!
Entirely disappointed in customer service.
Purchased an item from David Jones (A) with faulty stain on the inner surface, which was the last stock there. I found the stain after getting back home, and would make a request for exchanging a new one in David Jones (B) where had the stock within the same day. However the staff in David Jones (B) assumed that it was my fault to cause the problem. It is really disgusting for a (professional?) staff to check in front of the customer by smelling and rubbing the stain area.
Don't trust their exchange and return policy, they would persuade you ...to sell the faulty item with lower price even in the case that is not your fault. I cannot believe that it happened in a so-called luxury shop. This is my FIRST and LAST experience there! I would rather purchase online or in somewhere I deserve better customer service. p.s. I guessed that they had intentionally hidden the stain with security alarm tag as the stain exactly appeared in that area, really disappointed!!

I ordered online from David Jones a gift set of Jean Patou Joy. It is supposed to be Christmas gift from my husband who had just come back from the hospital. It arrived on 14/12 but we did not open it till Christmas morning. It turned out to be another item and not the one we ordered.

The death of our beloved quality store
i came to shop today and looked forward to cake and coffee. the cake was stale and i was told that they had no fresh stock they have on offer today at the patisserie.
WOW does this mean we can expect the same cut cost and pr-frozen stuff we find at woollies and Coles
On top of this an attitude of I don't care from the staff equals the beginning of the end of our beloved institution. WAKE UP DAVID JONES!
