Hate it. I would NOT recommend
Having read all the mixed reviews and being torn over whether to purchase a DeLonghi Eletta machine, I chanced it anyway and brought one, and I HATE IT!
Nearly all the negative reviews are correct!!
Its one of the noisiest machines I've had but the worst of all, the coffee is barely hot!!
You have the option of selecting the water temperature and even if you put it on the highest temp setting.... It's still not overly hot.
So, I find myself having to make a coffee and then put it in the microwave. Disgraceful given the money spent.
To prospective buyers... don't be me and be caught out chancing it..... the reviews you read are right!
Purchased in September 2020 at Costco ACT, Canberra.
Manufacturing quality has dropped badly
I purchased this coffee machine about 2 -3 years ago. Always clean it without any chemicals and with a soft sponge.
Recently, I found a piece of metal, shiny piece of aluminium inside my coffee mug! I nearly swallowed!
When I checked the machine underneath the coffee spouts I could verified that they were peeling off!
I have taken photos of it and other tiny bits on a white napkin.
I am really shocked with this this. I have stopped using it due to health and safety concerns.
Purchased at Frequent flyer points.
The worse coffee machine ever!
The DeLonghi Eletta Cappuccino ECAM45760B was a regrettable purchase. We had other Delonghi coffee machines for more than 20 years and now purchased this supposedly ‘fully automatic’ coffee making machine to make our life easier. But we’re frustrated not long after three months of use. The coffee taste weak and not hot at all, it’s like drinking off the tap, you get an error to empty the grind container while it’s not even half full. It doesn’t take French beans. I’ve contacted the customer service to fix the machine if it’s fixable at all, but...they’re the worst customer service ever. After a few days of fussing me around, they decided to take my request and send me forms to pack my machine and call them for arranging a carrier for pick up. It’s one full week now and no one still called me back for scheduling a carrier! They try their best to give up on your warranty so beware!!! Delonghi is not as good as it’s used to be sadly! I’m going to take this to VCAT and get my lawyer involved.
Purchased in April 2019 for $1,100.00.
Delonghi Eletta Cappuccino
I just received the machine this afternoon and the machine showing General Alarm, after turning off and on press Latte Button, it stuck there showing "Latte Preparation Underway" for more than 10 minutes and nothing comes out.
Even pressing reset back to factory default. Remove the water tank and open the cover and pressed the red button to reset diffuser also remained the same. What sort of product quality is this machine?

Cheap & Nasty
This machine is a big disappointment, weak coffee, warm coffee, you lose the settings if the power goes off and the instruction manual is very disappointing. Have owned a DeLonghi Magnifica for 8 years has been a brilliant machine at half the price. The Eletta is not easy to setup and get the required coffee taste you will use lots of beans and milk and will have to use a microwave to get a hot coffee. Our machine broke down after 4 months of use and had to be sent away something in the milk pump failed ????? got it back and had to go through the setup again still makes lousy coffee would swap for another Magnifica.
Horrible machine. Can’t wait to get rid of it
This machine is horrible. Have tried various beans and settings. We’ve given up. It’s a dust collector now. Can’t wait to get rid of it. Delonghi customer service is pretty average.
After ringing to see if we can get a Delonghi expert to see if we are not using the machine correctly, we were told to go to there service centre and would have to pay something like $100-$150 an hour for the privilege. Are you friggen serious? What, was a plumber going to show me how to use it? Pathetic
If you want the worst coffee ever buy this machine
We have had this coffee machine for 5 weeks now. We have read the instructions multiple times. We have watched every youtube video regarding this machine over and over. After one week of this nonsense we contacted Delonghi seeking help, the support person didn't seem to know what was going wrong, we persisted for another week and still the worst coffee we have ever tasted. If you want to spend all day adjusting coffee grind and re-filling coffee container, BUY this machine. If you want to drink weak tasting, dirty dish water coffee, BUY this...machine. If you like cold coffee BUY this machine. If you want to continuously fill water tank, empty coffee grounds container, fill coffee mill, adjust coffee grind and still end up with gross coffee, then go ahead at your peril BUY this machine. We buy Lavazza coffee beans and have loved this coffee for many years. Over my lifetime I have had 4 coffee machines and have always had the luxury of freshly brewed coffee each morning until 5 weeks ago. We purchased this machine at Harvey Norman for $1,300 and then paid an extra $250 an for extended warranty. After running out of patience and after wasting 3, 1kilo bags of coffee grinds (In a week) I called Harvey Norman who told me that this was a Delonghi (manufacturer) problem and that the extra warranty doesn't kick in until I have had the machine for 1 year. I explained that we have already called delonghi support, but that the machine doesn't not operate as it is suppose to. I contacted Delonghi support again (via email) and they told me to contact the store where I purchased. I have been given the run around by both store and Delonghi and now I have this useless piece of garbage sitting on my bench, that has just about driven me insane. We now get up and go to the café each morning for our coffee or drink instant as it is a better option than attempting to operate this monster first thing in the morning. And after my experience with Delonghi I will never purchase another product with their name on it nor will I ever be conned into buying extra warranty cover. If anyone reading this can tell me what I can do about this, please do!!!.
Faulty Grinder - they refuse to help, bad customer service. Promised call backs never occured
Faulty grinder after 14 months. I requested a full replacement/refund as per my rights with the ACCC they refuse. Promised call backs for complaints never occur and they ‘service manager’ is never available. They just keep referring me back to the retailer but they refer me back to de’longhi as they completed the repair without me authorising it.
Not hot enough
Milk container is a joke
Coffee Mehhh !!!!
Expensive piece of crap
Not worth it i wish i would have checked reviews the bloody aldi pod machine makes nicer coffee
A very disappointed coffee drinker and i will never buy delongi again rje service people are crap and just keep trying to make this your fault
Waste of money. Like the other person it is stuck on descale and just keeps pumping water untill it makes a terrible noise. Temperature is lukewarm, only had it just over a year. Been replaced once and gone back twice. Delonghi rep really stands her ground and says its the best on the market. Lemon of a machine. Will buy Jura next. Waste of time and effort.
Stuck in descale
Every time this machines flashes descale it gets stuck in descale mode.Ends up just pumping and pumping until there is nothing but steam and machine heats up and makes terrible noise. . It has been back to service agent mutliple times for this problem. This is a fault so I would say this machine is a Lemon. I have contacted delonghi customer support but the say just take it to service agent.
Good if you like an iced coffee
For $1800 I thought I'd at least get a hot coffee! After reading the manuals and adjusting the milk temperature to high, I'm still left with a barely warm coffee and have to stick it in the microwave to get it to an average temperature...I'm not a "burn my mouth off" coffee drinker, I'd be happy with a 60degree coffee, but this machine is producing a temperature I'd serve my 5 year olds hot chocolate.
I purchased from Harvey Norman, and when I went back to discuss they even advised me that this is a problem with this machine (Well, thanks fo...r selling it to me!) and that there is a part that Delonghi can send to make the coffee hotter, after 3-months of waiting, I've now been advised that they won't send it out as Delonghi don't wish to admit this fault and that I will have to send my machine away to be "fixed". Sorry, who's going to reimburse me for the next 2-3 weeks coffees I'm now going to have to purchase whilst you fix a problem that was known. I said to the sales agent that I'll call Delonghi direct, she basically shrugged and said good luck with them. The whole affair from purchasing to after sales care is appalling. Supposedly as the temperature problem has been recognised, the newer model does not have this issue. Great! for those who have the newer model, but bad luck if you were sold this one. Thanks Delonghi and Harvey Norman for wasting my money!
Just short of two years thinking about replacing it with a better brand.
Its only been just under two years now since I purchased my Eletta, It was great for over one year. them it started needing a De scale every two or three weeks, The Creamer is on its last legs won't froth now just makes warm milk so the machine wont make a cappuccino anymore automatically and that's what we got it for. This is not a cheep machine. It never made hot coffee apart from Cappuccino's just luke warm coffee shots. going to shot it out and purchase a manual machine of a different brand. Just wouldn't recommend it.
Just packing our third Delonghi machine and first Eletta, that have ALL for some reason STOPPED making steam at around 2000 cups! NOT happy, with us now having all the inconvenienece of packing and sending for fix or replacement. Thank god for the Harvey Norman extended warranty. I think we'll be going to another brand now!
Purchase this machine from JB Hi-fi 3 weeks ago. Tonight it started to make a deafening grinding noise whenever it is connected to power - even when it is turned off! The noise started out of no where, I thought our fridge must have broken down, but it was the coffee machine. Tried all the troubleshooting guides, and online forums for the cause and fixes for the machine. The noise will only temporarily stop when shooting water out of the side sprout. Came to the preliminary conclusion that the motor may be broken and must be taken to Delon...ghi to be fixed. I am very disappointed having paid more than $1000+ for it 3 weeks ago. Was hoping this machine can last me for at least 2 year! Contacted Delonghi customer service, but they are not available since it is Friday afternoon. So no coffee over the weekend and staring at a $1000+ machine. Read other reviews that Delonghi will take it in to fix it but it might be weeks before they return it. Will keep others updated as to the progress of this abysmal machine. And happy to receive any troubleshooting advice on how to fix it. Cheers.

Around 68% of reviewers awarded the DeLonghi Eletta a 4 or 5-star rating. These reviewers cited the Eletta’s best-performing qualities as the consistency of coffees made, the strong stainless steel build quality and value for money (although it’s $1,299, it's still cheaper than many high-end automatic models).
Reviewers with positive reports also noted that the Eletta was a little fiddly to find the right settings to begin with.
