Had mine a while, starting to have some minor problems – Originally I was intending to buy a Pixie model, but the saleslady in the shop suggested I upgrade because it was being discontinued. I got a better machine with more features for a little bit extra - bargain ! It worked fine for years, I only use it once a day, and clean it after each use. Had some issues with the milk frother not working… Read more
properly, used the recommended descaling solution a couple of times to clean it out, which helped. Lately the milk frother hasn't been working at all. I think three o-rings on the milk frother outlet have worn so a good seal isn't achieved. I have ordered replacements. Nespresso told me that my machine "was an older model" , that parts weren't available, and that I should consider a new machine. I spent $800 on this, I expect it to last, especially since it's not used all day every day. I did my own research and found a company in NSW that sells genuine replacement parts. The coffee isn't hot, which I wasn't told about, but I just put it in the microwave for 20 seconds.
It's a little bit of luxury, I like showing it off to visitors, and the coffee is better than instant, as well as being easier to make than the previous plunger style. The milk container is difficult to clean due to the shape, I've tried various methods such as soaking overnight if I remember. My usual method is a paper towel wrapped around a plastic chopstick to get onto the corners. I've broken a few chopsticks doing this. The newer models are better designed and don't have this issue. And there's also the cup issue - due to the design mugs don't fit easily so you have to try and find tapering mugs or ones that'll fit. I found some in my local Woolworths and bought a heap. Capsules are usually between 60c and 70c depending on the type. I only use Nespresso capsules.
Read my review for hotter coffee!! – I bought this machine and was bitterly dissapointed by the lack of heat in this coffee, it was seriously tempid and you could drink a large cup in about 30 seconds. I was just about to take it back to demand my refund but I spent the time frst on the internet to find ways to improve. At frst all the reccommendations seemed ridiculous and annoying… Read more
and uneccessary but they work and yes now I have a great hot cup of cafe style coffee. Here are the tips and I hope I can help some more people like I was helped. 1. Reset machine to factory settings, to do this follow the 'Restoring volumes to factory settings' on page 14 of your manual. The reason for this is aparently this model is set to European standards which is a warm coffee (so consultants from nespresso have told callers) so set it back to factory settings. 2. Change the energy saving, to do this follow 'Enery saving concept' on page 12 of your manual and change to the 30 min or 8 hr setting before the machine switches off. This is necessary as you will get a hoter coffee if you have the machine on for 20-30 mins first. Seems annoying I know but in reality isnt that bad. As soon as you wake turn the machine on, then go to the loo, feed the dog/baby, have a shower etc and then come and make your coffee. Preheat your cup by using the lungo or espresso buttons to poor hot water into your cup which you then disard before making your capacino or latte. So make sure you dont put your capsule in yet!! The other option I read was to preheat your cup in the microwave first which is probably quicker!! Then follow the 'programing cappacino/latte' section in your manual on page 10 so you decide the amount of coffee and milk you use. And you have it a hot cappacino or latte. Good luck everyone and Im glad im not having to go back to harvey norman to demand a refund anymore quick, easy, little cleaning waiting for flavoured coffees to come out, capsules a little expensive but what can you do, having to do all the programming to get your hot coffee but its worth it
Great Machine – My wife bought me this machine for x-mas. I already had a Breville machine that ground the coffee and made a decent brew, but required more time and left the grinds to dispose of. I was sceptical of pod machines until I tried this one. Now I get a perfect coffee every time. Pods are bought online but arrive within a couple of days, and… Read more
Nespresso are opening outlets in all major cities! Nespresso shops don't discount, so I suggest you buy your machine elsewhere. I love this machine, but I would not buy it again, as there is a better way. This machine, like all machines that produce milk this way, can't produce quality milk that is hot enough. You need a dedicated milk frother! I now leave the milk attachment off and just use this machine to make the coffee. I use a Breville BMF600 milk frother to froth the milk. It makes several cups worth of perfectly HOT frothed milk. It's the best and makes cafe quality froth every time! So, I suggest you purchase a smaller DeLonghi pod machine such as the Pixie, together with the Breville milk frother - they are a perfect pair. I now have several of these perfect pairs, at my two businesses, and in my motor home and I am 100% happy with the coffee they produce. The little dedicated milk frother that comes with the Pixie isn't bad, but only does enough milk for one coffee and it isn't hot enough for me, so I have to nuke it for 30 secs as well. But it's ok at a pinch...I carry one of these and a Pixie in a DeLonghi carry bag when I travel, so I can have a perfect coffee when I wake every morning etc. Yes, I love my coffee! Thanks Delonghi! Makes perfect coffee every time Milk frother is not very good
Good coffee - mousse so so – Love the coffee, absolutely love it. Makes my day in the morning. Bought it refurbished on graysonline and still running fine. Overall easy to clean and use even with the milk frothing Good coffee, machine looks slick, easy to clean Foam not so good
Excellent – I was looking for a replacement coffee machine after my mother took a liking to my original Nespresso machine. I picked up this beauty from InStyle in Cairns and haven't looked back since. It is a simple machine to use and doesn't need any specialised barista skills to use. Also the ordering process is a simple process on line or over the phone… Read more
and 3 day delivery anywhere in the country is pretty good.
I love this machine - It is the perfect coffee machine I love the completeness of the unit, it's compact enough to easy store on the bench in the kitchen. it makes great coffee - the no fuss capsules are great. The automatic milk steamer is a joy to use and so handy. The only con about this machine is not being able to make a coffee when you have forgotten to order more capsules.
Just luv the coffee from this machine – I bought my machine off a lady on eBay who had it and didn't like how strong the coffee was. I luv it, but like others find that the coffee isn't hot enough for me. Luv the milk froth part. I owned A Breville coffee machine which I luved before this and just find this machine so quick and easy To use in comparison to my Breville one. Easy to… Read more
use. Looks great. Variety in coffee flavored and the automatic froth function on it. Coffee not hot enough
a very convenient coffee machine – First up I have to say that I would never have bought this for myself, due to ethical concerns about Nestle. However, for my boyfriend it is perfect: a very quick latte first thing in the morning before work without the mess and fuss of dealing with coffee grounds - to be honest, I don't think he would have used a 'proper' coffee machine. If I had… Read more
my time again, I would buy a cheaper model such as the Pixie and added milk frother; the Latissima takes up a lot more benchtop space (prime real estate in his kitchen) and is more fiddly to clean. We've also already had to return it under warranty due to the milk pipes getting clogged (he was using full fat milk but I think it'll be ok now that some tips on cleaning have been provided & light milk is used). The thing that is quite irritating about this machine is that you have to put your coffee into the microwave for 15 seconds to heat it properly as it is lukewarm at best. Also very hard to swallow is the deeply irritating Nescafe boutique where we buy the capsules - the faux classy 'conoisseur' attitude and invasive insistence on keeping your purchases on record (fine if it's optional e.g. like a supermarket reward card, but maybe we don't want to be kept such a tight track of). It's great that they recycle the packaging (if they do what they say they do) and actually some of the coffees are quite nice. Hopefully they can start selling some fair trade capsules soon...... convenience, tastes alright, nice looking machines the 'nespresso boutiques' are awful, their insistence on keeping records, it's by Nestle, lattes not hot enough, fiddly to clean
Definitely worth it – This coffee machine is fantastic - great for those who want to upgrade from instant coffee but not the full barista. We use it every day as it is really just push the button to get great coffee, fast. You can also customise the volume of liquid to fit your cups (e.g. bigger or smaller), and adjust the frothiness of the milk (makes great… Read more
hot chocolates or babyccinos!)
It is really easy to clean and the milk container can be put in the dishwaher.
Variety of pods available definitely appeal to coffee lovers. Easy to use and clean, fast and convenient. Tea attachment not necessary
Looove this coffee machine! – I have owned a few coffee machines over the years, and I have to say that I love this one best! The capsules are cheap (68 cents each) and it makes really, really good lattes. So good that I end up having several each day :) The best feature is that you can store the milk container in the fridge without having to wash it up each time. Saves a lot of time! Makes the same coffee/latte each time
Excellent – Being the second Nespresso I have owned, I am still impressed everyday by the delicious coffee I am able to make at home. This machine makes a delicious, rich exspresso shot with a deliciously thick crema on top and froths the milk just the way you like it. The milk is heated to just the right temperature so it doesn't burn, and the coffee can be… Read more
enjoyed straight away. The machine is very easy to clean (descale), and at about 70c per cup, it works out to be great value for money. Ordering more coffee and accessories online is very easy, and arrives on your doorstep within 3 days. Even the lower priced models make great quality espresso, but the ability to make a top notch capuccino just by pressing one button is pure magic. Without a doubt, the BEST purchase I have made in years. Consistently excellent quality of coffee. 12+ different blends of coffee to choose from, including decaffeinated. Easy to use and clean. No coffee making skill required. Fast, easy ordering and shipping of coffee and other products from the website. Not for those who need to drink their coffee boiling hot, as this machine heats the milk to the perfect temperature for serving espresso based coffees (about 60 degrees).
Awesome coffee, no skill required – The easy to use capsules make this system great to use and easy to clean. The capsules come in 16 different flavours including decaff so you can have a lovely cup at night without over-caffinating. It's ease of use means even technophobe husbands can make the perfect cup which is great on lazy sunday mornings when you feel like being spoilt. … Read more
You can put the milk container in the fridge for storage, but i find as it is not airtight the milk can quickly go sour. I find it easier to fill it just enough to make the coffee and clean the container straight away.
So far have only ordered one lot of capsules but they arrived within a couple of days and I am still going on the first batch.
The only painful thing for me is that you have to be extra careful to make sure that the milk frother is actually aimed at the cup, or else a big mess can ensue. But after a couple of times you learn to double check :) tasty, easy to use and easy to clean. need to be careful of frother aim, expensive but ease of use and taste make it worth it.
Fantastic – Easy to use machine for easy, tasty coffee. Visually pleasing yet functional. Takes a while to perfect taste of coffee by using the buttons in a custom way rather than simply pressing to finish. Tastes just like at the coffee shop but without the hassle of grinding and twisting like other models. Easy to use Takes a while to perfect coffee strength
Excellent – Looked at lots of machines before settling on the Nespresso. I have little bench space so the compact size is a bonus. It is extremely simple to use and you can make coffee to your taste. I find putting the milk in last gives a thicker, creamier froth. The default settings can be overridden by the push of a button to achieve a perfect latte or… Read more
cappuccino to your taste. Provision is made for a mug to be used if you prefer. The milk container can be put in the refrigerator till next use. Coffee pods have to be ordered online and are delivered within 2-3 days. 12 different coffees of varying intensity. I love this machine and how simple it is to use. So simple to use and consistently delicious coffee. No coffee to grind or tamp. Cleaning is a breeze. None found yet
