If I could score below 0 I would!
If I could score below 0 I would. Worst company ever! I was recommended to use this company by a friend. Worse decision I EVER made. Feed in tariff is quite low. They can't get my bills right, wrong dates on service supply charges, customer service staff is appalling as you can't get anyone who knows what they're talking about. Buyer beware. Never again!

Fees quite high and unreliable customer service
While the service is reliable with only one drop out in 18 months, the prices are rather high in my area. Prices begin at 28.4900 c/kWh and move up to 30.6900 c/kWh with higher usage. I can commend their quick activation only taking a day or two to turn my apartment on.
I had thought the company held a good reputation and signed up after leaving home. I have now found that their customer service is sorely lacking with simple mistakes turning into angry affairs.
I was not sent my latest bill, I've checked all spam and trash boxes and have fou...
Read morend nothing. On this bill my monthly usage had gone up due to the colder seasons coming in. I was not aware of this and thus couldn't adjust my fortnightly payments accordingly. The first interaction I had to make me aware of this was a bold red letter email stating they would be enforcing a payment plan if I did not contact them immediately about an overdue amount. There was no reminder text message, no calm call asking if I was aware of this owing amount. I contacted the help line and received a very cold response from a woman essentially stating I was lying about not receiving the bill. I have had a payment plan set up for over a year making consistent payments but the second I was overdue, I was treated like a criminal. I will be removing myself as their customer when I can.- Transparency

Horrible experience!! Do not go with this company!!!
Solar panels installed on a rental i moved into and got visited by a salesman from Meridian energy to sign up for Diamond energy so i get benefits from the solar otherwise i would not get any and either would the landlord. After receiving the first bill i couldn't be happier but then a month later after i paid it i received a new bill for triple the amount and said they had made an error. After months of back and forth i changed to AGL and couldn't be happier i actually received solar benefits which i wasn't getting with diamond.
A short while...
Read more after the salesman from meridian energy(solar panels) called me and said i should change back to diamond if i want to stay in the rental property as the landlord is not receiving anything from the panels, straight up blackmail and borderline criminal. Also gave me a date to pay the invoice which was four weeks away then 3 days later i get a debt collector letter saying they will take legal action if i don't pay it within 7 days.... advised them of this and they said sorry that's an error on our part. Do not go with diamond energy - incorrect bills/ months for correct it / high prices / terrible customer service.- Transparency

Over before it even started.
I saw all the great reviews for Diamond online and was very impressed with how starkly they differed from that of their competitors. I called up the customer service line and was all but ready to sign up. The man who took my call asked for my contact details and address, then asked if he could put me on hold but didn't say why. After 10 minutes he came back on, told me I was going to get an info pack by email, and that was the end of the conversation. I assume this isn't the standard procedure of how a customer call is supposed to go over there...
Read more (at least I hope so), but it was a terrible first impression and I promptly signed up with a different company with front-facing staff who know how to hold a basic conversation. A shame, it was such an easily avoidable way to lose a customer in this very competitive market.- Customer Service

Many hidden charges
Admittedly I did not do my research prior but just got a bill for $424 for 4 months - one bedroom flat, no air con, lived there for 2 months, for sale for 2 months with Real Estate Agent turning power on at meter for 30 minute inspections only. I did not realise this company charges 109 cents per day for electricity whether you are using it or not, nor was it clear about the connection charges. Cant wait for the next bill with the disconnection charges.

Recieved a $1350 bill from these guys after recently signing up. I have a two bedroom unit and usual bill is between $300-$400 with previous companies.
Be very careful!

Inexplicably Expensive
I live in a tiny 2 person household. It's not even a house, it's a trailer. We both work a lot and are barely home. I was shocked to receive an $800+ bill. We use gas for cooking and have mostly LED lights, no air conditioning so I'm very confused by this excessive bill. Never again. I'm shopping around to find a decent provider.

Do your homework and compare their rates with others
Diamond is one of the power retailers recommended when installing solar panels and Reposit (or even Reposit without the solar panels). They are focusing on renewable power sources as a result and it is commendable that they are doing so. A large feed in tariff for "high demand events" (think "summer super hot days when everyone has air-conditioning on and the power system can't keep up") is offered so have the potential to be low cost over a year. However, these high demand events are all too rare, despite the noise in the press and the off ...
Read morepeak rate is much higher than most competitors, with the minimum government feed in tariff offered for 99.99% of the year. Our experience, over the years was a difficult and disorganised connection, followed by disappointing high cost. They struggled to plan the connection, so came back to the house twice. We were initially set up with a controlled load tariff as well. Not sure why. It took Diamond four months to sort out the connection and tariff. More importantly, the cost is not competitive. As an example, our home would typically draw 4-5 kW of power from the grid (at off peak - not peak times and rates) and send 15-20 kW back to the grid (the excess generated by the solar panels after supplying the house and charging the battery) in a day, and we would owe them money. The issue comes from their very high off peak rate, which is currently about 25% higher than offered by most of the other, more widely known suppliers. Over a year, the impact is material. The less important negative point is the visibility of the chaos behind the scenes. The people helping you on the phone or email do their best but what they say is going to happen is rarely related to what then happens, in terms of time frames or work being done.Find out how Diamond Energy compares to other Energy Providers

My bills have been ridiculously expensive!
I was shocked when I received a bill of $860 dollars (over three months) for a tiny one bed room apartment.
It just didn’t seem right. They said I used up to 71 kw in one day alone which confused me as I’m frugal with my power usage. So I cancelled my membership but received the last bill over two months which was over 500 dollars! I would not recommend this company because I haven’t changed my power usage habits and I’ve never received bills so large from other providers.

WORST Energy retailer - Confusing and misleading billing
Worst energy company ever, I received 7% discount upon signing up during March 2017 but guess what? They jacked up the price by 20% in a July and didn't even bother giving the mere 7% discount.
Gotta say Diamond energy is definitely the WORST energy retailer out there, so if you're thinking of signing up with Diamond energy, make sure you already are wearing 10 24 carat diamond rings, then you wouldn't even bother letting these bloody leaches take your money.

Diamond energy, no energy to fix issues
For a number of weeks if not months, staff gave me different answers on not only my hot water system but who can convert it.
I was told my hot water system is 24/7 and then I was told also it is on only a certain number of hours per day.
I was also told only a plumber needs to change the hours and then I was told I can change the hours myself.
So when I decided to leave because of the above, I got a call asking why am I leaving and they can fixed up the issues.
Let me see, ah yes.

Questions & Answers
Is Diamond energy really off peak for the whole weekend?
Should I only go with Diamond Energy if I have solar panels? I am moving out and will be renting so we won't have solar, will it still be a reasonable price?
I think they do a bill compare if you ask them. They did it for us. They're good even with no solar.
I'm looking at Diamond Energy, I'm in an apartment so trying to work out whether I need solar panels or not?
It would be tricky to get solar panels in an apartment but Diamond energy is sourced from renewables, so at least you know you're helping the planet!
