I send a shipment to my customer once a month with Direct Couriers. Booked this shipment online with their site and on the Friday (day of collection) was called by the team to say they were extremely busy and couldn't get a driver. While my customer was not happy this was agreed to be collected on the following Wednesday.
Brett from the Brisbane office called me on the Wednesday morning saying there was zero chance of getting my collection picked up. When I flagged that my items were actually waiting since Friday and asked where my collectio...n was in the priority it said that he had bigger and more regular customers that pay more that had placed orders today that take priority over mine. Long story short, money talks with Direct Couriers so if you are spending up big with them then don't waste your time.

Is it standard practice to make no attempt to deliver packages and leave these on the conceirge desk (without any attempt to even call the conceirge or check the building directory board). What if this package was alcohol sent from a client?
