Some facts:
1. Unit has 2 Fans, a centrifugal fan facing the chest and a vane-axial fan vented to ambient. Both fans start up together. The centrifugal fan circulates the air in the chest over the heat exchanger fins to which the Peltier Device is attached. There is a thermal cutout on the Peltier device side which breaks the current to the device if there is an over temperature. A NTC thermistor is mounted between the heatsink and the vents of the frame to measure the chest air temperature. The vane-axial fan is mounted to removed heat from th...Read more

power pig!
This is a cooler, not a fridge. I plug it into the 240 mains the night before to use it the next day, cause it takes forever to cool. Worst thing about this product though is, its power draw. Its horrendous. don't think u can use it on trips away for a few days to a week, it will drain your battery in double quick time.
It has its place though, a cooler for a day or two for trips to beach or overnight or something. But don't go remote, or for long trips, no battery could feed it for long.
So in summary; needs pre-cooling, massive power draw, ...Read more

Comments apply to all Thermoelectric models & brands basically.
Thermoelectric coolers/warmers, of any brand, should be treated as the most...Hmmm, basic portable electric powered cooling devices that are readily available for purchase. Their benefits are that they are much lighter than compressor fridges, and Hmmm, "cheaper"...The models with the warming function, do work quite well in that mode, but apart from that...I really can't get too excited talking about them. I own 4 different sized Waeco thermoelectrics. Two older models and two current "FL" series. None were purchased new. They do fill a role fo...Read more
r the occasional day tripping outing, or for long car trips, but if you're thinking of getting one for camping holidays for more than a day or two, think again. This is not a fault with Waeco or Engel or whatever brand by the way...In general, their energy efficiency is very very very poor, they will suck your car's battery dry in less than a day, their fans can be noisy, but worst of all, on a warm day, their "cooling best" is barely good enough...On a hot day, or worse still inside a closed, parked car for a couple of hours or more, forget about your "cold drink" waiting for you on your return. Think very carefully about buying one new, especially the TC-35FL, only because its RRP is TOO much $$$ to spend. Put a some more bucks towards one of their MANY compressor fridges, available in 11/18/25/35/40/50/60/80 & 110 litre capacities. They are a far far better proposition. Cheaper than compressor fridges, & lighter. Hot box function works well. Very poor performance as a "fridge" in our climate. Massively power hungry on a hot day. (They'll run constantly)Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

we bought this unit to save loading our bigger waeco for day trips and considering the price of $159..00 plus "freebie" from a*** C**** we are happy with our cooler,we run this from an aux.battery,so battery drain when stopped is not a problem, great carry handle,"esky like".we have'nt tried the heating function (65 degrees)? yet, but should be good for bringing home the takeaways.
good sturdy unit, does the job of keeping our day trip goodies cold(given a nice mild day) The power connectors location actually force you to leave enough space for v...Read more

My cooler box runs perfect it just doesn’t get any cooler than 15 degrees. I have tried it with ac and dc still does not get cold. I ran it all day and night and the next morning still only cooled down to 15 degrees. Any suggestions would be nice

Maby try putting some ice in it for about 12 hours before you use it to cool it down, then once you put your things in it should be ok to use, you could also replace the Ice to keep it cold, don't lave running in your car without the car running it will flattern the battery quickly.

The Dometic Waeco TropiCool Series is a line of small, affordable portable fridges. Each comes with heating and cooling capabilities, able to cool below 25 degrees below or heat 65 degrees above external temperatures. They can run on 12V or 240V power, with a "7-stage" digital temperature control.
Reviewers liked the smallness of the fridge, often saying it fit well in the passenger footwell of a van or truck. Though not as high-performing or energy efficient as other portable fridges, reviewers generally agree that it's worth what it costs. People also noted the fridge is unable to change the temperature of food or drinks quickly, and should instead be seen as a tool to maintain the temperature of an item you put into it. It will struggle in extreme temperatures, and is best used to keep cold stuff cool, or hot stuff warm.

omeone had put a sticker saying not to put liquids inside it. Many boat owners would put ice into their fridges to prolong their life. My fridge is now dead and I cant find out how to get it mended if that is possible.
