Very Good Customer Service
Was looking for some exterior undercoat for a timber fence, and was getting a little confused with the best options. Oil based, water based, forget undercoat and get the all in one paint, etc, etc. Had some ideas but as am amateur decided to visit my local Dulux Trade Centre in Warrnambool. Being located in an industrial centre and focusing on the trade, they don't promote themselves much to the general public, but are happy to assist.
The shop was new, well laid out and full of useful painting products. The person I spoke with listened caref...ully to all my needs, did not interrupt or cut me off, and then calmly suggested the product that would suit me best. All questions were answered with due consideration and care. There was no rush, the shop was a sea of tranquility and the products and advice were first rate. I really enjoyed my experience at the store, and would happily return. I was listened to, given good advice and shown the products suitable for my requirements, and the Dulux paint I got was even cheaper than the big green warehouse down the road that constantly tells me they have the "lowest prices". Just another reason why supporting the specialist stores is often a much more rewarding experience than the big warehouse type stores. Thanks Dulux.
Poor misleading customer services
While searching Dulux Trade Centre on the internet on Sunday, found that it was open on Monday 31 December 2018.
Called that morning during it’s advertised opening hours only to receive a recorded message similar to “All our customer service staff are busy, please hold the line”. No one answers the phone and the call ends.
Drove to the location only to find the store was closed.
If staff intended to extend their weekend to include both a non working day - Sunday, a Monday being a working day (New Years Eve) and public holiday Tuesday ...(New Years Day) why not update your website accordingly. You have no idea what inconvenience let alone costs involved this has caused when a job is planned and prepared given that Monday is a scheduled work day and products are not able to be purchased to complete it.

Questions & Answers
Can you use an acrylic finish paint over oil based prep coat
Novice answer but I have used an oil based undercoat on my outdoor deck fence. Then applied water based final coats (assuming they are acrylic) with the approval of my local paint shop. Other more knowledgable than me may confirm this is OK.
Hi Geoffrey, generally the answer should be yes you can. it may be a bit dependent on the substrate and the application but usually it would be alright. If you would like some further assistance please call our Help and Advice Team on 132525 option 2 and we would be happy to have a discussion with you - The Dulux Team
