Can hardly smell the MoodMist and fragrance diffusers
I purchased the McKenzie MoodMist diffuser along with several essential oil fragrances, and found that even on the 'high' mist setting, I could hardly smell any scent coming from the diffuser. They recommend adding 5 drops to the MoodMist, but even with 12 drops I couldn't smell much at all unless I'm seated right next to it. I also purchased several of their reed diffuser refills, and their scents just aren't strong enough. Not worth the $120 I paid for the MoodMist, and the $30 for the 2 essential oil fragrances. They need to improve their quality if they want to charge these prices!
Today I purchased the Dusk Seline Chalk Diffuser (Deluxe Spa Edition) so it’s the most expensive in the Dusk diffuser range (a gift for myself) & while yes I do like the diffuser & I cant say that I have any major complaints about it & it’s more just a few little gripes or a few little things that I noticed that are kinda disappointing but it’s only because it’s a little pricey so that tends to make little things stand out more. The biggest disappointment out of the few little gripes I have is that the meditation music it plays is actually only...1 very short repetitive tune (a few notes constantly repeated) so for the price I was a little disappointed about that feature because it would’ve been better had it played more then mentioned. For this diffuser being Dusks top of the range perhaps they should incorporate a Dusk app that customers can download & then pick & choose from a list of different meditation music although if Dusk were to do this I sincerely hope they won’t make diffuser more expensive then what the Seline diffuser already costs & so this was the biggest of the disappointments out of the few little gripes but again it’s only because it’s pricey for what it is & so it was just a little disappointing that there was not only a lack of variety with the meditation music but the 1 song available is just a few notes repeated continuously BUT with that said I can totally except that if this was a major issue for me then it’s my own fault as I should’ve checked in store about this feature before purchasing the diffuser but it’s not a major issue for me simply just a little bit disappointing but because of this I do feel Dusk should reduce the price of this diffuser (members price is still not cheap enough) & the reason I feel they should is because most would think meditation music would mean more then a few very short repetitive notes. Now my other 2 little gripes are the remote could be better quality as it really lacks any sensitivity as you do have to be standing quite fairly close to the diffuser for the remote to work & sometimes it takes 2 or 3 goes of pushing the button for diffuser to register the remote is being used & yes this is even after replacing the button battery with a brand new one which reminds me I’d like to make an IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS/CARER’S etc OF BABIES/TODDLERS & SMALL CHILDREN that the remote uses a CR2032 button/coin battery & the remote does NOT have a screw to secure the battery compartment so I just want to make that point known. Also with the remote if the diffuser is centred in the middle of a room you still have to point the remote towards the front of the diffuser & not be standing at the back of the diffuser/pointing the remote from the back which I understand some people might think this a real petty gripe but if you consider most of today’s items that work with a remote control they do tend to work even if a person isnt facing an object, like things can work while a person is standing with their back to the object without the remote even facing the object at all. Now my last little gripe is the mist is supposed to pool around the whole top/lid to give the impression of misty dew etc however after checking that maybe there was an unknown slight draught coming in from who knows where or somewhere in the lounge/living room that could have been preventing or effecting this feature I decided to move the diffuser into a small enclosed space with NO POSSIBILITY of any sort of draught or breeze etc which happened to be in the hidden/European style type laundry in the centre of the house & NOT in the vicinity of any doors or windows or anywhere near anything that could result in the possibility of slight draught or breeze yet the diffuser still continues to only pool on 1 side or 1 half of the top lid while the other side/half of the lid is dry with no pooling of mist at all. Anyway please take my review as you would like as while some may feel the issues mentioned petty or insignificant etc I still decided to leave the review simply because it isn’t exactly the cheapest & for some people it might be a big expense for them as it might be a gift they are considering purchasing for a loved one or themselves or whatever & therefore because of the diffusers cost some people might want to know opinions or experience that others have had that have purchased this item before they make their final decision on whether or not they want to purchase the diffuser so again take my review as you would like.
It’s a bit pricey but stock is nice.
Dusk is very appealing and smells great.
The pricing is the only down fall. Especially when they can offer 30% or 40% discounts.
The oil diffusers are of good quality but quite pricey. Oils are also quite expensive and for that price you would want them to be pretty pure. The selection is wide with pretty things everywhere. Tip is to look out for the Specials.
I love it love the essential oils love the style as I use as lamp too
Love most things but must admit tea lights don’t frangrance much weak.
But can’t fault diffusers
Love their specials too and being a dusk member
August 7th 2019 Update: Nice smell when available dusk aromatic
Love the idea and colour choices and pod fragrance of the dusk aromatic purifying but must say duo fan noisy pods expensive fragrance not long lasting
Brought 3 and all 3 are slight different in fan noise
Love concept but not sure if worth the expense and if really cleaning air as stated maybe other options to get same for less...
Three wick candle made in China
I was given this lovely candle in a rose scent. I thought it would be nice to purchase another for a friend and couldn't believe the price of $99.00. But even more disappointing was finding out this candle was produced in PRC!! I am so disappointed and think dusk should produce candles in Australia, especially at that price!!
Was Disappointed.. But they made up for it in the end!
I ordered a week before Christmas time and selected / paid for Express Shipping but Dusk sent it through as Standard Shipping, so I was not going to receive my order before Christmas Time which really sucked, It was hard trying to resolve this issue as Customer Service didn't reply very frequently. In the end they allowed me to pick it up from my Local store and send back the items that come arrived in the post, they also let me keep a item from my parcel that came for the inconvenience.
where's the smell
I recently purchased one of those hourglass diffusers. Cost about $40 and is sitting there as pure decoration, no scent whatsoever! I'm slowly learning after purchasing hundreds of dollars of their products that it was a big waste of money. Really disappointed. I have to say though that the Artisan Rose range was the only thing that smelt great. Typical though, you can no longer buy it!
I bought some candles recently as a gift and was happy with the fragrances available. The candles are pretty although a little pricey and the add ons the store clerks try to sell and not really required and cost as much as 1 candle. Apart from that the staff were friendly and helpful.
Over jugded under paid
What a shame Area Managers are in this company Micro Managing. That's wright, if you cry it's unproffessional, if you show vunerability it's weak, if you show real support to your team on an emotional level its not being a leader they won't respect you. Managers on 38 hours expect up to 54 hours + a week. Yes you feel pumped but it's not the work load that you get paid for. Catches up to the point you question why you keep going back day after day? The 3 hour covers are amazing their under the pump big time but why employ 4 to 6 in store when 3...hour shifts once a week is all they get? Feel sorry for the managers all day on their own relief for 3 hours banking to do lunch hour what a joke, more like lunch 10 minutes, deliveries to get out, rosters, coaching logs weekly on every team member, RODS as well, KPIS 10 fold, Weekly KPI Trackers, monthly mystery shoppers, 15 minutes your paid to cash up in the morning then same 15 minutes to cash up at night but realisticly it takes up to 45 minutes EOD. Confusing POS system. Up grade your systems in store, then customers won't get so frustrated having to wait too long while you have to search their Dusk Reward Card up 30 times a day. To many lay out changes every 3 days. Also major OHS issues climbing tall ladders with no spotter well above regulation height. Deliveries 1 to 2 times a week pressure unrealistic time schedules. Work acholics this is the Company for you because the wage percentage is virtually zero. No work life balance unsustainable. Burn out big time.
Expensive for what it is
I used to work at Dusk over 10 years ago and they had an excellent range of candles, a welcoming vibe and that over-powering waft of thousands of candles as you walked by. I went into my local store last week and the experience was, well, sad. The range of candles has decreased and they don't have as many aromatherapy candles as they used to, which I prefer buying over the frangrant candles. They have a lot more decor items than candles eg. candle holders, hurricane lamps, but a lot of them look cheap and nasty. They also stock a lot of seasona...l items for Christmas, Easter etc which have become more tacky over the years. I bought an essential oil which was overpriced and very poor quality - I had to continue adding the oil to my burner every hour or so to get any smell from it. The service is fine though somewhat annoying with their obvious up-selling of 'sale' items which are still at exorbitant prices. I also don't know where they're going with the member program - it's $10 to sign up - and they advertise it throughout the store which looks like they're trying too hard. My last visit really made me reconsider whether I would return as I can get better quality candles for the same or slightly higher price elsewhere, which use better quality ingredients. However, it's still a decent one-stop shop for gifts but I think they should get back to making quality candles instead of becoming a tacky gift shop.
