Great Seller – I bought a total of 5 mobile phones from dutyfreecentral note 2 note 3 note 4 and note 5 and galaxy j1 all petfect
No Warranties,No Replies,Insurance Non Existent,Call Police as these are cases they want! – Bought a Samsung Galaxy 3, paid for the 2 year Insurance, worked fine for a few months, then had charging problems. Would take up to 2 days to fully charge. I notified the Insurer, and despite having been issued a customer identification number for the insurance, they want proof of purchase. Why? When you pay, all the details are sent to them and… Read more
is on their database. Had the phone checked, it is faulty, Samsung advised that this phone purchased from Duty Free Central is NOT Australian, and is not covered under their 2 YEAR WARRANTY. What can be done? The local Police are very interested in these cases. Please call into your local Police Station & they have a procedure & will help you file against them, they have Interpol on their side. My advice is to buy local through a trusted site or Store, you can always negotiate a good price. This company sells items at such high prices, for what is basically, poor quality goods which have ONE MONTH WARRANTY (yes, read the fine print!).
Want to contact Customer Service? try that number....it is disconnected. They don't answer emails.
Excellent Service – I bought two mobile phones (galaxy s2 and galaxy s4) from this site. Prices were great and the delivery was on time. Both of the cell phones are working perfectly. I am happy with their service and if they continue offering low prices I will buy from this site again.
Mobile phone disaster – I bought a Samsung Galaxy sIV mini. It arrived fine and initially worked well. It then developed a software fault, with a gremlin on screen and message re fault number. I looked it up online and others had experienced it, but none of online fixes worked. DFC said to return, which I did. After more than a month and many emails, they advised… Read more
that the repairer has claimed it had water damage which was not covered by warranty. This was not possible, and does not fit the fault messages. The options provided were to fix at cost of replacement or pay to return unfixed. I strongly suspect the water damage claim is an attempt to escape the warranty costs, and the only means of disproving it is to throw good money after bad. I strongly recommend not purchasing from DFC.
No warranty service
Do not use – I was sent a faulty phone which keeps freezing and has just got worse and worse to the point it is no longer usable. This has been happening constantly since i purchased this only a few months ago. Duty free central have ignored my emails and when i rang someone who didn't speak english answered and just told me she can not under stand me and hung… Read more
up. Do not use this company. Should they wish to fix my problem and actually refund me (unlikely) i will remove this post. Terrible service and i had enough problems just getting the phone delievered.
Faulty. Freezes. Doesn't work. [censored word removed] customer service
Poor Customer Service and Bad Experience – Under no circumstances should you buy from DutyFreeCentral. Resist the temptation of what appears to be a good price. I bought a GoPro 11 December 2013. They charged delivery fee of $30. There was no acknowledgement email of purchase once the transaction was complete.. Whilst it arrived within 7 days, there was no warranty or receipt… Read more
enclosed, and it was missing an accessory item (protection screen) in the parcel. As this was an unwanted Christmas present I sent an email requesting to return the item. I received a response four days later to inform return items attracted a "restocking fee is 10% of item value" but there was no return address provided, so had to send another email requesting address to return item. As the "14 Days No Question Ask Return and Refund policy" was fast running out, I decided to sell on Ebay at a reduced price and lost $80.00. Horrible experience. Will never shop with DutyFreeCentral again!
Bad Service. No Warranty. Not professional and unethical conduct
Do not buy from this shop – Do not buy anything from this shop. Their customer service is a joke and they do not care about their customers and the money we spent. I bought a samsung camera, I received a confirmation for my payment and order. 2 days later I receive an email saying that my order has been cancelled as the camera arrived damaged to their store from the… Read more
distributor and dont have anymore cameras in stock. They said that my money will be refunded but I am still waiting (1 week now).
So i sent them an email asking when i can expect my money back and ask to be compensated for the inconvenience. Of course when they answered me, they ignored the subject of the compensation and said that my money will take time to come back as their account department was busy!!! What a joke! It is so quick for them to take your money, in an instant! But to give it back, it seams really complicated knowing that it is their fault, not mine and I am the one who is struggling.
After an other email from me, i have finally been offered a proposition for my compensation and it is a gesture of $5.00 to spend in their store. Wouahh this is so gonna help me for not having my money for a week and maybe by tuesday as monday is bank holiday.
Anyway i would advise not to use them if you dont want to be disapointed and have your money taken for no reason. Their customer service is poor and they blatently kept avoiding my request.
Think twice before buying!
poor customer care and refund service
Bad customer service – Bought an iPhone 5 and it arrived promptly. It was faulty and was returned. Three months later and still no satisfaction on replacement, repair or refund. They appear to have stopped replying to my emails. Also had to return a faulty wireless keyboard. After two months it was eventually replaced. Not a happy camper. Bad warranty service
Disgusting Customer Service – Bought a Samsung Galaxy SII on 20/3/2013. It had an intermittent fault and you could not hear through the earpiece. This stopped all together and the phone was sent back on 7/4/2013 after waiting a week for instructions on how to return. Arrived back from Hong Kong 19/4/2013 in very dirty condition and no explanation as to what had been… Read more
wrong with it, however the earpiece did work. Tried to set up the internet and Optus techs spent over an hour but could not get it to work. Concluded it was not designed for Australia. Contacted DFC again, who responded on 22/4/2013 and said to return it.
The phone has not been seen or heard of since and no response to communications apart from one short email on 7/5/13 saying all I had to do was to set the APN but they would do this for me. Silly of me, I thought that was what we were trying to do for over an hour with Optus.
Subsequent requests to DFC to ask where the phone is or to receive a refund have gone unanswered. The most recent was on 31 May 2013. Because of this being dragged out I am unable to lodge dispute with PayPal, I have had to buy another phone and all I have for the cash outlay is a charger.
DFC should perhaps read their customer service statements on their website and try to follow them.
I'd recommend anyone dealing with this website, which does not appear to be registered as a business in Australia, be very careful and keep an eye on the calendar to get a Paypal dispute lodged within the required 45 days if things are going pear shaped. Personally, would never shop here again and discourage others from doing so.
Disgusting Customer Service on Faulty Item.
No problem at all ordering Sony HX30V – I order my Sony HX30V from Duty Free Central as they were selling the cheapest in the market. I had no issue what so ever mentioned in the previous reviews. I placed an order on 11 Apr-13 and was easily able to track my consignment progress. The used Toll Priority to send me the parcel from Hong Kong and was able to follow through the progress. had my hands on the camera on 19 Apr-13.
The camera was in a perfect condition and contained everything mentioned online and on the box. They had even put in an Australian compatible power adaptor to the charger.
Having read the coments by other users I was a bit anxious about the delivery however looks like it s a mixed bag review, so had wonderful experience and while others didn't. I did not communicated with them as I don't how efficient their response is. No harm in giving it a go. They do have limited products to sell.
On a foot note I am still waiting for the documentation for my 1 year extended warranty. The website says it will be shipped seperately. Let's see. Product delivery was timely and content as mentioned on the website
Nikon D7000 (Cheapest and Genuine) – My experience with dutyfreecentral.com has been pretty good. I received my D7000 twin lens kit in mint condition. Delivery was quick. Everything was hassle free. The booklet with camera is an English photocopy rather than original (might be due to the fact that camera was for Hong-Kong originally). Overall, I paid $500 less than the local… Read more
retailer for exactly same product. Express delivery option and genuine packaging Took 3-4 days for payment processing through Paypal
Sony SLR – Last year I bought a Sony SLR and a flash card, way cheaper than buying it at Harvey Norman, Good guys, etc,,,did a bit of research....anyway, It arrived really quickly and no dramas. Looking at the other reviews sounds like some bad Chinese site but hey, everyone's experience is different so I can't comment. Item was delivered.
Does not conform to Australian telecommunication standards – I rang DFC prior to buying to see if the mobile phone was Australian stock and had Sony Australia warranty. They assured me it was and did. It was flown to me from Hong Kong so No warranty. Now they deny what they told me. I rang Sony and they said it was for Dubai and I should return it as it not only did not have warranty it did not comply to… Read more
the Australian telecommunication standards. Any person or company importing electrical and electronic devices for resale in Australia must ensure they conform to our standards and apply the A Tick or C tick as appropriate. DFC do none of this. May as well buy on eBay.
No warranty. Does not conform to Australian telecommunication standards. Played dumb when I wanted to return

Poor quality product, no warranty, and horrible services – I bought a Gues watch, ordered on 14/7/2012, DFC received payment on 16/7/12, but there was no delivery made on their order status page, so I cancelled the order on 25/7/12 and received Refund two days later, that's quite good! I was happy with DFC. Surprisingly, I received the watch on 1/8/12. I contacted DFC and told them I received the item… Read more
after cancelation. I paid them again for the watch. The watch had some issues in September 2012, I was given the supplier's address for repair in October. I sent the watch on 30/10/12 via registered mail. until now, (8/1/2013), I haven't received any feedback either from the supplier or DFC. I called and emails both the supplier and DFC numerous times. Finally, I was able to speak to the supplier (prime watch store) on 8/1/13, and the person in charge said they're not responsible for the warranty because I didn't buy the watch from them directly!
It's DFC's job to deal with them, and I should make complaints to DFC. How ridiculous it is, the Prime Watch store accepted my return but not responsible for the warranty. Ok, then why not return the item to me? It's been 6 months since I ordered from DFC. That's what I got, lose of $115, for a lesson, never buy from DFC. I don't know if I can even get the faulty watch back!
Poor service, faulty item, no warranty, paid for nothing!
Great service, will buy from DFC again – I bought two mobile phones online & at first was worried about the payment, but I emailed & received a response that helped set my mind at ease; I watched my order process & then the toll delivery process & sure enough within 5working days my order arrived & is activated & working wonderfully. Am writing this review from it now. Great service & great prices. Would recommend buying from dfc with no issues. great service, great prices
Useless customer service – Don't waste your time ordering from this company. It took 8 days and numerous calls and messages to confirm that they weren't going to ship to me (because, they claimed, their stock was damaged). Eight days of my money being held in their bank account until--oops--they couldn't mail me the product. Then later that day the item reappeared on their site...at a higher cost. Waste of time!
delivery times – I ordered a tablet from DFC, paid for and ordered an item last Thursday, and today almost a week later after being promised that it will be shipped and arrived by Tuesday at the latest I have no confirmation that it has even been shipped almost a week later for an item listed as currently in stock... Order status page states picking item from warehouse status for two days, make up your own mind people... Buyer beware
Excellent Service – Thumbs up for the service I have received from DFC. I ordered my phone on Wednesday afternoon and it was on my hot little hands the following Monday morning. So impressed it was quicker to receive my order from them that it would have been to order something from my own Country. When I rang prior to ordering the person I spoke with was most… Read more
helpful and responded well to my queries.
I would certainly order from them again. Fast delivery, helpful advise The product came out was set up in Chinese but it took me all of 5mins to look it up and fix it.
Stay away and keep your money – DFC provided me with a more thorough explanation in time as well as a full refund. I would still recommend that you contact them before you buy items to check that they have stock available because drop shipping can be risky but in general, yes they are trustworthy and yes they have a fairly good range at acceptable prices. Trustworthy Communication was slow at times
