I have a place off the grid.
Will this work well with a water pump? And what would be the best water pump to go with it.

Hi Jeharkin, Thanks for your question.

Could you please provide us the model number of the heater, that will help us giving you the correct information.

Was thinking the 17 or 21L continuous heat lpg unless you have a better suggestion. We only have solar and occasional generator. We use water tanks.

I live in blayney so where can I purchase the dux 21litre here

Dux
Dux   DM

Hi Karl, Thanks for your question.

We have looked up Blayney and the 2 closest Plumbing merchants that would be able to order in the Dux 21 Continuous Flow units are Reece Bathurst which is 25 minutes from Blayney and Reece Orange which is 30 minutes from Blayney.

Also, Bunnings in Bathurst or Orange. They should have in stock or can order in.

Do they need an electrical connection

Don
Don

Ours did.

Don
Don

The electric connection is the ignition spark.

Kay
Kay

Yes

Dux
Dux   DM

Hi Bob, Thanks for raising your question.

Yes they do.

Electricity is used to power the electronics in the unit. If there is a power outage, the unit will not generate hot water.

The electrician needs to install a 10A weatherproof external power point, ideally on its own circuit.

Yes. I organised mine through Bunnings and it included the cost of an electrician.

Julie
Julie · Always Hot Continuous Flow

We purchased a Dux always hot, hot water system in July 2019 from our local Bunnings store. We have noticed the last couple of months it is taking so long for the hot water to come through( wasting a lot of water) Even when it does come through it is not very hot, at our kitchen sink it will only stay hot for a couple of minutes, then goes cold again.
Can you help.

Is this system enough to use for household of 3 peoples?

Happy Man
Happy Man

Yes it is. We have had many guests stay over and there is always plenty of hot water for all.

Don
Don

Sure is. If lots more people the 26 L suits

Dux
Dux   DM

Hi Diep, With continuous flow heaters, they are not graded by the number of people in the house, rather by the number of taps likely to be running simultaneously.

- If only tap at a time will ever be running, then a 17 will do the job.
- If occasionally 2, a 21L or a 26L.
- If 2 taps regularly, a 26L
- If more than 2, a 32L

is this unit good in a cold area and what is the temp of the water at the tap and can i have 2 taps on at once does this unit need a water filter to stop debris from my water tank

Dux
Dux   DM

Hi there, Thanks for raising your question and we apologise for the late response. To answer your query, the 21ENB5L is suitable for cold climates, all pipework must be lagged with suitable thickness UV resistant insulation.

The power must be left ON to the unit at all times so that the anti-frost heaters inside the unit can work.

The unit has a water filter at the cold inlet connection, this should be cleaned on a regular basis.

obviously Dux has either poor quality design or poor quality control of the units that leave their factory, or both. I wonder how it can be that they are not able to manufacture a reliable product; but ut seems is a problem with most of the continuous flow heaters, Rinnai, Bosh , you name it

Hi Philip, To answer your question, an Always Hot 21L would most likely suit the demand you've described. If there are 2 fixtures being used at the same time on a regular basis (e.g. 2 showers), we'd recommend the 26L.

Can this heater go above 50 deg? as I have a Rinnai 26 which is hopeless for or needs waste over 4 to 8ltrs of cold water before it gets warm plus can have a shower with running any cold water.

Dux
Dux   DM

Hi Ken, The Always Hot Continuous Flow range has a 60 Degree preset model, either 26ECB6N/26ECB6L or 26ENA6N/26ENA6L.

Australian Standard AS3500.4 limits the temperature of hot water delivered to sanitation areas (Bathrooms, En-Suites etc) to 50 Deg C maximum.

The wasting of 4-8L water is due to heat loss in the pipes, it is a plumbing issue, not a product issue. This waste can be reduced by having the pipework insulated by your plumber as well as perhaps relocating the heater so it is closest to the most used outlet.

Is Dux dependent on mains power?

Dux
Dux   DM

Hi Walter, All our Continuous Flow units require a power supply to operate the electronics and anti-frost heaters, power is supplied by a 10A weatherproof GPO.

To our understanding other manufacturers might make a Continuous Flow water heater that doesn't require a power source to operate.

Should you have other concerns, you may email help@dux.com.au.

Just wondering what the average life of the Dux Endurance Plus 26 is. We have had ours for coming up to twelve years. The ignition spark has stopped working, is this something that can be replaced as the unit seems to be in excellent condition apart from the ignition spark.

Hi Christine T. I am unsure of current pricing, but I purchased my system in January 2019 and from memory it was $1710 for the 17L unit. I have had no issues at all with it and highly recommend this product.

Hi Christine, I believe it must be installed outside due to the nature of the product. Please direct this question to a supplier/installer.

Del
Del · Always Hot Continuous Flow

My Dux system doesn't work properly during winter. On the cold mornings, it wont heat up. What is wrong with it?

Lorraine. Brisbane
Lorraine. Brisbane

Hi Del, this could be due to a number of factors. Are you on bottle gas or main supply? If you are on bottle, check your levels. How far does the water have to travel? Give it time to heat and reach destination. Has the power starter been turned off? If none of these suggestions help, contact your installer for further advice/help.
