Really great machine but
Got this machine a few months ago to replace my dc08 turbine after the second motor went out. I had high expectations and they were all met it picks up the dirt like nothing else. the tangle free turbine is a great improvement from older models and I love the fact that’s there’s no filters to clean or replace. there is some downfalls 1. The bin never fills up evenly all the dirt will fill all the way to the top at the back and there will be none at the front of the bin. This is a issue my old Dyson only did when sucked up a lot of dirt at one time. 2. I have read reviews that the bin open randomly and yes that has happened to me but only once. Other than that it’s worth the money and a great product
Doesn’t work well for cars and carpets
I found the suction very poor, does not get the sand off the car carpets and mats easily. My old Electrolux was far better for less than half the price. Also on carpets, it does a poor job with pet hair, it just gathers them into a big ball of hair in front of the head. Very disappointed and planning on returning it ASAP
Pneumatic head useless on carpet
After years of a conventional cleaner we decided to go for a Dyson. So far that seems a mistake. We were advised by the salesperson in JB Hi Fi to go for this multi floor pneumatic after describing our floors. It was more expensive dive but we thought this would be good. We can’t even push the head over our medium pile carpet and the finer carpet sticks like a limpet mine. Surely Dyson are smarter than this. So now after more than $500 we still don’t have a vacuum cleaner to clean our house properly. Very disappointed in our first Dyson product.
Don’t fall for the hype
The only positive of this vac is the suction. It does pick up the dirt, however ... that’s if the head you need to use at the time doesn’t twist over. My biggest issue is actually emptying it. It was sold to me as perfect for allergies, so easy to use and empty. No mess, no fuss! Well that’s a load of rubbish. Now if your lucky enough to get the barrel off the vac without it just opening and leaving all your dirt back where it started... you get to the bin and push the red button and down the dirt comes, and then you have to get in there and gi...ve it a good shake and pull all the fluff from the filters so then by this time your covered in dust and if you suffer from allergies, let me tell u this isn’t a great thing! Then the exciting part of trying to get the dust lid closed again, and actually staying closed, that’s a challenge too. The tiny clip doesn’t seem to hold properly. I bought this for hard wood and carpet flooring. Bought the one with all the attachments. Extremely annoying to have to keep going back and forth finding the tools you need cause not on the vac it self. The ball is heavy and awkward. The stick handle is very light and can adjust length which is good. However still feels very cheap. Unfortunately I’ve had this bad purchase since February and now stuck with it till I can save for something else.
Its True What They Say About Dyson Vacs
Every damn Dyson owner I ever met said they loved their Dyson, they'd never get any other vacuum, it's worth the extra $$ & even it changed their lives. Riiiight....
...then i bought a Big Ball Animal for my mum, while staying with her, as her wheezy turd of a 20yr old vac wouldn't suck the skin off a rice pudding. I couldn't cough up for new Dyson, instead buying a 2nd hand vac in excellent condition.
And yes, the damn thing is amazing!! Lots of dust-free suction & canister capacity, parts click & lock together (what a revelation!), & its ...
Purchased the Bigball multifloor after the old Dyson DC37 finally stopped after years of faithful service. Thought I'd upgrade to a better machine with this unit. Wrong!
If it's called multifloor why is it not good on carpet? Suction is great but the stupid pneumatic head is a waste of time and useless. It just leaves a clump of dog hair either in front when pushing or behind when pulling.
Contacted Dyson and was told I could buy another more suitable head for $140.
Why would I do that when I've just spent $500 on a "multifloor" vacuum?
Save your money and buy an old 37, wish I had.

One badly designed vacuum cleaner for a lot of money!
This vacuum cleaner is very unpractical, the head is too heavy and too big, the telescopic pipe is very bulky, all the accessories are separate from the cleaner so you have to store them somewhere (all accessories were attached on the cleaner on our old Dyson). The switches for turning the cleaner on and off and for retracting the power lead are very unpractical, they look like they will break if you try to use your feet. The worst of all is the emptying the canister with the collected dust and dirt, prior to removing the canister the bottom op...ens by itself and all the dirt just falls on the floor, it is very frustrating. The only good thing on this model is the suction, it is very strong. We really miss our old Dyson which we had for 12 years, the only reason we went with Dyson again is that we trusted we would get another great vacuum cleaner.

Not worth It
Purchased 3 years ago & only tried to use it twice before putting it in garage as after going over an over fluff on the carpet I had to bend down and pick it up. ( So just use my v6 slim cordless) Thought it was my carpet 3 yrs later it’s still new so just tried on my mums carpet as it’s been just sitting in the box unused and the same thing happens it sucks on your hand but picks hardly anything up after 10mins use the V6 slim again is full in minutes!!
What a piece of rubbish
This vacuum cleaner has tripled my time spent vacuuming. It makes a great whirring sound which sounds like it is working, it has a furiously rotating brush inside the head, however, it is all froth and bubble. It kicks dirt out everywhere, and when you think you might have at last sucked it up, you turn the head and it all falls out. Is someone having a joke with me? Where are the cameras? This is the first Dyson I have ever bought thinking it might help with my sons allergies (given the name), but I do not for the life of me know how this coul...d help one iota with a kid who suffers dust mite allergies. When you dispense the dirt you have to be very careful not to release it and make more dirt then if the catch gets dirt in it, it is very difficult to do up again. I am awaiting the day when this function will fail. Thanks for making my life more difficult Dyson.

Picks up so much unseen dirt!
Just purchased this today from Harvey Norman Everton Park. It blows out a large amount of heat. However the amount of dirt it sucked up was outstanding! Actually I was horrified at how much dirt there was in my bedroom! I emptied the barre twice for one bedroom!! And I vacuum regularly - obviously my old vac was not so good after all!!!! The tools are light weight to counteract the heavy barrel. The tools are very useful and there’s plenty of choice and an extra head in the box. I was pleasantly surprised at all the extra tools. The one for cleaning skirting boards worked a charm!! I’d recommend it.
Love my Dyson
I have only had this product for 2 months but absolute loving it!!
So easy to move around and the results are great 10x better than my previous vacuum.
Great on all floor types and even great in the car !!

I believe in dyson and this is dissapointing.
After 10 years our much loved Dyson died and we decided to get us another Dyson as a replacement. First time when I tried this new one with standard brush head it comes with I seriously tought something was wrong with the suction. I kept checking all the connections and the hose but everything was fine...brush spins so some suction is definitely there but it simply is not enough suction guys, and I mean almost no suction at all to the point that there are small DRY crumbs on the laminated floor/tiles and brush just moves it (does not suck at al...l!!!). Today I found myself pushing crumbs to the wall and then having to remove the head/brush and vacuming directly with the hose opening....that kind of poor suction is not reasonable to come with this rather pricey machine. After having 5 days of hope and thinking that some magic will happen I am at the point of crying now as 5 days in and I am stuck with 2 useless Dyson vacum cleaners. In having said this on a positive note the tiny hair brush was great to remove cat hair from the outside couch but is not even close replacement for regular size brush as one would have to vacuum 3-4 times longer to cover the same surface area as with the regular brush/head.
Zero Stars - Don't waste your money
Buying a $800 + vacuum cleaner that promises quality and efficiency removing pet hair, you expect a top quality product that will last you for years. Not with this Dyson.
I'm extremely disappointed that Dyson offer such a poor product. Poorly made that after 2 weeks using this vacuum cleaner (light use around the house) the wheels came off and you can't place it back. Poor hard plastic that once it's broken you can't do anything about it.
Few months down the track, the power button on and off doesn't work properly too. Once you turn on, it ge...t stuck and it's a little mission to turn off. Around the same time the little plastic wheel close to the vacuum head doesn't spin either. Again, poorly built and made. Now we have a fancy broken, 1 year old vacuum that can't be used anymore. We always had cheaper vacuums $150 or so and we NEVER had any built issue with it and lasted us years! Will never buy anything from Dyson again. What a waste of money, DON'T waste your money too!

Not for long fur, weak suction
We bought this as we have four long haired pets. Be warned the animal description only applies to short fur, not long fur which immediately blocks the head.
When we complained the Dyson rep sounded like this isn't the first time they have heard this issue.
Very weak suction, have to go over everything twice. Have gone back to our 6 year old electrolux which is far more powerful. Dyson appears to be nothing but marketing hype.
Another bitterly disappointed Dyson customer...
Oh Dyson what has gone wrong! I had one of your first vacuums for many years and loved it! Sadly it died and I replaced it with this model. I am so very disappointed! The barrel never seems to close properly and I am forever having to use my stick Dyson to clean the mess that falls out of this vacuum. It is messy to empty. My carpets never feel like they are properly vacuumed and the carpet head does not have the range like the old vacuum. I have to continuously empty the barrel just to feel like I am getting some suction. I've rung a couple of...times only to have to wait for a long time to be told that others love this vacuum. Well I dont! I have been a loyal customer for many years, and we own a number of Dyson products. I will never buy another Dyson product. I'm not sure what has happened in the Dyson company for it to put out such a disappointing product. I can only assume Dyson has been sold to a bigger company so once again we see greed before customer satisfaction.
Was initially happy with this cleaner. Had issues with the multi floor head after about 12 months of use, it kept lifting off the floor and losing suction. Dyson kindly replaced the head, but with a different one, not the same as came with the purchase. Whether its the new head or not,bit seems to have loss suction, skims over the floor without picking up dirt/dust. Have previously been a Vax user but went with a Dyson on friend and family recommendations. Should have stuck with a Vax.
This unit is terrible , Ive had it for 2years and now the rotating head wont rotate, suction is awful even after emptying barrel.
Head is forever flicking up more dirt than it sucks in .

This product is strong and has lots of little pieces that can help me with my vacuuming. I bought it mainly for my cats hairs on the sofa and it does that so good.
A very well made, high performing vac that's worth a look if you want mains power - and can use all the accessories.
Pros - Excellent performance, quality build and finish, comfortable and efficient to use, large capacity dust collector, wide collection of attachments that work well if you have a use for them...
Cons - ... but up the already premium pricing unnecessarily if you don't. On/off switch on the small side and potentially fragile for tapping with your foot, hard floor head is missing the retaining notch to hold the wand and hose upright on the vacuum itself, reasonably heavy to drag around the house, two-year warranty seems stingy.
Bottom Line - ...A well-made, great performing unit that's worthy of its price if you need a regular mains powered vacuum cleaner over a wide variety of surfaces and furniture - but a cordless unit might be a more convenient option if you don't need endless run time. -- The Cinetic Big Ball range is Dyson's current take on their well-known - some might say iconic - cyclone-style bagless/filterless barrel vacuum cleaners. The Animal+ model is an up-spec'd offering with an emphasis on dealing with pet hair, hence the extra accessories and the corresponding higher price.
