1. The dust bin's lid released open all of the contents as I disconnected from the unit. Happened twice! Massive mess to clean up. 2. The attachment adapter broke very early on in use. 3. It's short on suction power in general. 4. Dust bin gets clogged at the bottom in the narrowest part with the littlest debris, stopping the rotation of debris thus affecting its suction power. I have to empty out when its not even 'full' because of this blockage.
Poorly designed and manufactured. Not happy.

Multicolor cleaner ...Doesn't live up to its name
Not well designed or made as the wheels fell off after using on tiles as the shank that hold the wheel to the heavy body is pencil thin plastic with a single screw through it and of course the shank snaps in half and can't be fixed.
Might be ok for carpet over a long period but not good for going from carpet to hard floor as the wheels can't handle it.
My machine maybe 3 years old but for the near $600 paid I would expect a lot long life than that.

Love My Dyson!!!
I bought this a few months ago and still love it, cheaper than other brands for better suction,
Really great vacuum cleaner.
Doesn’t get blocked and easy to use. Lots of great features. Love that it’s bagless and easy to empty!

Just want to share my thoughts about my new vacuum.
I have to replace my retired vacuum as unable to find new brush for my old one.
My old Dyson (10yo) is absolute legend. It usually take me to vacuum all house (2 storey approx 250sqm) in approx 40 min brilliant work one brush for everything, hard floor, rugs, narrow spots, stairs etc. nice and easy to navigate.
I was very disappointed I have to use one brush for rugs, another for straits, one more for tiles and hard floor and 4th to vacuum dining chairs. All process takes up to 2.5 hrs as I...

Good, but not great
We are on our third Dyson barrel vacuum cleaner. It has excellent suction, good filtration and there are no filters to clean or paper bags to fit and remove. Our first cleaner lasted 7 years and the second one we gave to a family member after 5 years. The current big ball cleaner is about 2 years old. I have subtracted some stars for the following reasons:
* the cleaner is durable if you're careful with it. I've never had anything break but some plastic parts do seem a bit flimsy.
* despite the improvement in the mechanism to dispose of the dus...

- Cinetic Big Ball Absolute
Awesome vacuum cleaner
Great suction, the absolute model comes with a whole lot of extra attachments, the ball rights itself if it rolls. Its emptying process is vastly improved in usability over the old DC39 we had. I'm finding I don't have to go over areas I've already done before just to get them clean. I judge a good appliance as one you look forward to using. This is definitely the case here, its a great vacuum.

motor smells and makes popping sound, cost me $180 for repair to some internal filter that can't be accessed by user.
I use this on tile, wood and carpet and alternate between the power head and hard floor tool,I purchased it nearly 4yo for around $700. It has had light use maybe fortnightly, the motor has just blown up and im taking it to dyson for a quote
Purchased at Dyson for $700.00.
- Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor
The worst Dyson vaccum ever?
The bin unclips itself constantly after being secured and after you've spent a good hour vacuuming the house it dispenses it's load onto the floor without notice...so, you have to vacuum the mess up twice. This is one of the worst design flaws i have ever seen and i had exactly the same issue on a V6 stick vacuum too. will never buy a Dyson again after this!

Fantastic suction but thats it
The vacuum cleaner cleans wooden floors reasonably well though I do have to go over it more than once. I have to constantly lift and replace the floor tool as it is difficult to turn. The floor tool and the hose and connections are bulky and difficult to use, all very unintuitive.
Even with holding the (less suction clip) the suction is so strong cleaning carpets it is a fight from beginning to end.
I have already had the dust bin replaced as the tiny clip that holds it shut didn’t work, the new dust bin still has difficulties not popping open when I remove it for emptying.
I have so disliked using it I’ve vacuumed far less than I normally do.
I would not recommend this vacuum cleaner.

PS - Dear Dyson
Further to my review just a few days ago, I used my Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal again yesterday for the third time. After struggling to adjust the size of the wand (it takes two hands and a great deal of strength); after having to push and maneuver the tools clipped to the side of the wand; after not being able to properly vacuum my carpet due to the too-high suction; and after struggling to clip the wand onto the unit in order to awkwardly store it; I now have to ask Dyson this: How could you make and market such an inferior, difficult and ...awkward product? You've made it, tested it, and clearly would have read customer feedback. Yet you still sell this product. I have to say, I loved my old Dyson; and have, until now, considered the brand to be the absolute top in vacuum cleaners. But no more. After just a short time of owning this machine, I can definitely conclude that I've wasted my money. I doubt I would buy another Dyson product.

Very hard to empty and refit barrel
Suction is good, that’s where it ends. The barrel will often empty itself as you remove it from the vacuum cleaner dropping its contents all over the bottom inside of the vacuum cleaner. You then need another vacuum cleaner to clean it up before you can put the barrel back on. So buy spare to clean the cleaner.
If you do manage to get the barrel to a bin before it drops its guts then it is very tricky to close the barrel after emptying it. You need to left a small grey tab that is a bit awkward to get at although not too bad. This releases the...

Can't handle dog fur
Very expensive below-average vacuum cleaner. Carbon fibre turbine died, took it apart and freed up the hair clogging the bearing thanks to a youtube video showing me how to do it. Dyson uses star-head screws to prevent consumers from fixing their own parts. It freed up and started to work again but I think it might need more grease now because it seizes up even faster than it used to. Also unable to buy replacements for this specific head because it has been out of stock in Australia for over 6 months. I have been checking the Dyson web page si...nce June last year, still not available and possibly even discontinued? (I can only see the dual floor head and that has been out of stock forever). Suction is not bad but not amazing for a modern cleaner. Mostly the issue lies in that carbon fibre turbine head... the bristles have burned away, specifically the black ones which I assume as supposed to be said carbon fibre bristles. They're all gone, eroded into oblivion after about 1.5 years of use. The replacement turbine is also unavailable to buy. Don't buy Dyson. I've heard awful things about their more expensive cordless stick vacuums too.

Is not suitable for all floor types, despite the advertising saying so
This vacuum doesn't work on carpet at all - it leaves large clumps of hair and dust in its wake. I have now been told by support that this cleaner is not suitable for carpet, despite the website stating that the cleaner works on all floor types. Very disappointed at what a waste of money it has been - I am now looking at selling it and will buy another brand. The ball is also heavy and needs to be carried over wooden floors so it doesn't leave any scratches.

Always had Dyson in last 20years and am disapointed
You take the barrel off every 2nd time and it opens on the floor, I make sure it's clicked in properly ( base to barrel) but it still does it. Is there a fix for this ??? any help would be appreciated

- Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor
Not a good choice
Too heavy and cumbersome to move. End up carrying it around the house - which is not ideal. Worst point is that it does not actual suck up the dirt. It kind of pushes everything around and ends up with in clumps, which I guess is easier to pick up. I have no idea why people rave over this brand. Could not be more disappointed.

Questions & Answers
Hi I am wondering where is the filter located for Dyson Cinetic Big Ball allergy
The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball features Dyson Cinetic Science. Dyson Cinetic Science is so efficient, the dust and dirt is separated from the air into the bin, without the need for a washable filter. The machine has a post motor filter which is there to capture carbon dust from the motor however is designed to last the lifetime of the machine without the need to wash/replace it.
Dyson Cinetic Science features ultra-efficient cyclones with Cinetic tips. These tips allow our cyclones to be small, and they vibrate to ensure the ultra-fine dust doesn't clog them, rather, ends up in the bin for you to empty when you have finished your cleaning session.
Our Dyson big ball animal pro is only a couple of months old. The power head spins but doesn’t pick up anything on the carpet , I’ve removed any fluff or anything around the roller. The normal head works fine on hard floors.

I purchased my Dyson cinetic big ball vac in Feb .I am having trouble with the 360 swivel head it keeps clicking out of its place like it is broken it doesn’t seem to lock in . It makes it then impossible to vacuum ,The suction is also extreme and makes it very hard to push on carpet leaving balls of fluff. I do not have pets so no excuse for a lot of hair on my floor, Please advise as I am extremely disappointed
