Can't handle dog fur
Very expensive below-average vacuum cleaner. Carbon fibre turbine died, took it apart and freed up the hair clogging the bearing thanks to a youtube video showing me how to do it. Dyson uses star-head screws to prevent consumers from fixing their own parts. It freed up and started to work again but I think it might need more grease now because it seizes up even faster than it used to. Also unable to buy replacements for this specific head because it has been out of stock in Australia for over 6 months. I have been checking the Dyson web page si...Read more
nce June last year, still not available and possibly even discontinued? (I can only see the dual floor head and that has been out of stock forever). Suction is not bad but not amazing for a modern cleaner. Mostly the issue lies in that carbon fibre turbine head... the bristles have burned away, specifically the black ones which I assume as supposed to be said carbon fibre bristles. They're all gone, eroded into oblivion after about 1.5 years of use. The replacement turbine is also unavailable to buy. Don't buy Dyson. I've heard awful things about their more expensive cordless stick vacuums too.Purchased in April 2018 for A$700.00.

Always had Dyson in last 20years and am disapointed
You take the barrel off every 2nd time and it opens on the floor, I make sure it's clicked in properly ( base to barrel) but it still does it. Is there a fix for this ??? any help would be appreciated

Not a good choice
Too heavy and cumbersome to move. End up carrying it around the house - which is not ideal. Worst point is that it does not actual suck up the dirt. It kind of pushes everything around and ends up with in clumps, which I guess is easier to pick up. I have no idea why people rave over this brand. Could not be more disappointed.

Really great machine but
Got this machine a few months ago to replace my dc08 turbine after the second motor went out. I had high expectations and they were all met it picks up the dirt like nothing else. the tangle free turbine is a great improvement from older models and I love the fact that’s there’s no filters to clean or replace. there is some downfalls 1. The bin never fills up evenly all the dirt will fill all the way to the top at the back and there will be none at the front of the bin. This is a issue my old Dyson only did when sucked up a lot of dirt at one time. 2. I have read reviews that the bin open randomly and yes that has happened to me but only once. Other than that it’s worth the money and a great product

Pneumatic head useless on carpet
After years of a conventional cleaner we decided to go for a Dyson. So far that seems a mistake. We were advised by the salesperson in JB Hi Fi to go for this multi floor pneumatic after describing our floors. It was more expensive dive but we thought this would be good. We can’t even push the head over our medium pile carpet and the finer carpet sticks like a limpet mine. Surely Dyson are smarter than this. So now after more than $500 we still don’t have a vacuum cleaner to clean our house properly. Very disappointed in our first Dyson product.
Purchased in June 2020 at JB Hi-Fi for A$540.00.

Not impressed!
Purchased the Bigball multifloor after the old Dyson DC37 finally stopped after years of faithful service. Thought I'd upgrade to a better machine with this unit. Wrong!
If it's called multifloor why is it not good on carpet? Suction is great but the stupid pneumatic head is a waste of time and useless. It just leaves a clump of dog hair either in front when pushing or behind when pulling.
Contacted Dyson and was told I could buy another more suitable head for $140.
Why would I do that when I've just spent $500 on a "multifloor" vacuum?
Save your money and buy an old 37, wish I had.
Purchased in May 2020 for A$499.00.

One badly designed vacuum cleaner for a lot of money!
This vacuum cleaner is very unpractical, the head is too heavy and too big, the telescopic pipe is very bulky, all the accessories are separate from the cleaner so you have to store them somewhere (all accessories were attached on the cleaner on our old Dyson). The switches for turning the cleaner on and off and for retracting the power lead are very unpractical, they look like they will break if you try to use your feet. The worst of all is the emptying the canister with the collected dust and dirt, prior to removing the canister the bottom op...Read more

Motors in these are absolute rubbish
My Dyson Animal lasted two years. It's use has been household carpet and vinyl flooring. A few days ago the unit started producing a screaming sound which I took to be a bearing failure. I fitted a new motor and. Upon examining the old motor found the end cap on the motor housing had fatigued totally and allowed the amature to contact the outer section. The casing is unbelievably thin.

What a piece of rubbish
This vacuum cleaner has tripled my time spent vacuuming. It makes a great whirring sound which sounds like it is working, it has a furiously rotating brush inside the head, however, it is all froth and bubble. It kicks dirt out everywhere, and when you think you might have at last sucked it up, you turn the head and it all falls out. Is someone having a joke with me? Where are the cameras? When you dispense the dirt you have to be very careful not to release it and make more dirt then if the catch gets dirt in it, it is very difficult to do up again. Picks up so much unseen dirt!
Just purchased this today from Harvey Norman Everton Park. It blows out a large amount of heat. However the amount of dirt it sucked up was outstanding! Actually I was horrified at how much dirt there was in my bedroom! I emptied the barre twice for one bedroom!! And I vacuum regularly - obviously my old vac was not so good after all!!!! The tools are light weight to counteract the heavy barrel. The tools are very useful and there’s plenty of choice and an extra head in the box. I was pleasantly surprised at all the extra tools. The one for cleaning skirting boards worked a charm!! I’d recommend it.

Zero Stars - Don't waste your money
Buying a $800 + vacuum cleaner that promises quality and efficiency removing pet hair, you expect a top quality product that will last you for years. Not with this Dyson.
I'm extremely disappointed that Dyson offer such a poor product. Poorly made that after 2 weeks using this vacuum cleaner (light use around the house) the wheels came off and you can't place it back. Poor hard plastic that once it's broken you can't do anything about it.

t stuck and it's a little mission to turn off. Around the same time the little plastic wheel close to the vacuum head doesn't spin either. Again, poorly built and made. Now we have a fancy broken, 1 year old vacuum that can't be used anymore. We always had cheaper vacuums $150 or so and we NEVER had any built issue with it and lasted us years! Will never buy anything from Dyson again. What a waste of money, DON'T waste your money too!Purchased in January 2019.

Not for long fur, weak suction
We bought this as we have four long haired pets. Be warned the animal description only applies to short fur, not long fur which immediately blocks the head.
When we complained the Dyson rep sounded like this isn't the first time they have heard this issue.
Very weak suction, have to go over everything twice. Have gone back to our 6 year old electrolux which is far more powerful. Dyson appears to be nothing but marketing hype.

Not Great.
Was initially happy with this cleaner. Had issues with the multi floor head after about 12 months of use, it kept lifting off the floor and losing suction. Dyson kindly replaced the head, but with a different one, not the same as came with the purchase. Whether its the new head or not,bit seems to have loss suction, skims over the floor without picking up dirt/dust. Have previously been a Vax user but went with a Dyson on friend and family recommendations. Should have stuck with a Vax.

Don't buy into the Dyson hype
The suction levels on the vacuum are poor - refer video. On timber floors it won't pick up anything larger than a grain of rice on first sweep. I have to pick up multiple items by hand as it's faster than moving the vacuum head back and forth again and again. The on/off and cord retractor buttons seem to be fagile, however in fairness I could be wrong. But their size and placement make it difficult to use anything but hands. When emptying the vacuum it has opened unexpectedly on multiple occasions, dumping dust on clean floors. And its quite difficult to get the bottom door of the dust receptacle to stay closed. It's truly awful!

Most disappointing product I’ve ever bought
When my old Dyson needed replacing I didn’t hesitate to replace it with another. However, this has proved to be a very disappointing and frustrating choice- so much so that I felt compelled to submit a review for the first time. Although it works well enough in hard floors and us easy to clean I find it useless on carpets where it all it does is ‘blow’ rather than actually suck especially when it comes to fluff or heavier pieces of dirt. In the end I have to vacuum a very large carpet area with the ‘stick’’ attachment. The carpets never really...Read more
look clean. I don’t look forward to vacuuming and find it very frustrating. Even when it does suck it may come after repeated attempts of trying to pick up the same item of dust / dirt and then mostly blows it back out. Yes Dyson I have checked for blockages.Purchased in May 2018 at Harvey Norman.

Having a ball with Dyson...
I gather that there are Dyson people and anti-Dyson people. Those against Dyson complain about the price of their products and with vacuums the noise level being excessive, amongst other things. If you're an anti-Dyson person, you may as well move on, as I'm not going to be able to sell you this vacuum. This is an excellent vacuum in lot's of ways, but it has some of the same Dyson foibles that some of their other models suffer from, but which committed Dyson customers are apparently blind to!
I do find the high-pitched whine of the vacuum...Read more
motors to be annoying, but nothing in comparison to the high-pitched whine of screaming children. Either are easily solved by using earplugs or my preferred solution, bluetooth earpieces playing some calming classical music. Assessing the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal+ is fairly easy. Firstly, after unpacking the machine and it's multiple parts you have to assemble it for use, this may be your first hurdle to surmount, because the "User Guide" has very sparse instructions and as with most technology products these days, it is expected that there is a level of intuitive assembly skills on the part of the customer! If that is your first problem, then it's down hill from here, because you have an array of attachments for different floors, carpet and furnishings which would baffle Einstein and once again the "User Guide" is very secretive about their possible uses. I deduced that the "Grooming Tool" was for grooming your pet(s). I know it sounds logical to suck the loose hair off your moggie or doggie before they deposit it on your carpets or settee, but in practical terms have you ever tried vacuuming an animal? I was in hot pursuit of my cat as it scurried up the hallway escaping a screaming human, dragging a ferociously loud plastic monster. He only escaped because I was abruptly stopped in my pursuit by an impracticably short power cord (a measly 6 metres). Darn it, I'll get him next time, should he ever come out from under the bed! Clearly, there are enough attachments for this vacuum for you to find something that's useful for the job at hand. However if you're like me, you'll find a couple of all-rounders that satisfy your everyday needs for carpets, hard floors and furniture and stick to them, the others (including the grooming tool) will be left in the laundry cupboard. In short, this is as good a vacuum as you are likely to find in the market, yes, it has a few things to get use to, or could be improved a little, but overall it's a well designed machine (who's ever seen a self-righting vacuum after its rolled over?) and what may seem strange to you at first, will become second nature in time. The bottom line is, if you really hate it, take it back within 45 days and get a refund, it's not the end of the world, it's my cat who thinks it is!Purchased in September 2019.

Just about close to perfect
For those who are in a hurry, here is the executive summary:
The Good
- The suction is phenomenal.
- It goes around corners easily.
- Should you manage to make it fall on its side, it automatically rolls itself into the upright position again (see video).
- Emptying the barrel is amazingly easy, quick and clean (well, mostly).
- There are no filters. Hence no replacing, washing or checking filters anymore.
- The turbo head works really well on a relatively thick carpet....Read more

Dyson - I am very excited about my new vacuum and think I may just have to figure out how to work some aspects. I have used it four or five times. I have had a few trial and error mistakes with the bin not being properly closed and vacuuming dirt all over. Hopefully I've solved that. My turbine head seems very noisy and I'm thinking I probably should be wearing ear protectors. I thought maybe something is clogging it - I have cleaned the brushes on the turbine head a few times as my long hair is wrapping around the roller. I have removed it all but still very noisy and I'm feeling the suction isn't as good as it was the first day. My husband tried it and it was too loud for him and he operates our leaf blower with enthusiasm. The wand seems to be fastened properly. I do feel like it is a simple fix but I just can't find what it is.

Oh yes!
This is a feature of the obstinate Big Ball !
Didn't they tell you !
The suction inlet gets blocked with anything bigger than a gnats testicle.
So you have to open it to clear the obstruction.
Good idea never to open your machine inside the house.
Oh I don't have a problem with suction. But I do have a problem with the clip at bottom of cylinder. Wont stay closed. Dirt everywhere

We are sorry to hear the bin is opening on your machine when not expected. Sometimes, this can happen if the bin is pushed back up into position without closing the trap door first. We encourage closing the trap door, then pushing the bin back up into position.
