What a piece of rubbish
This vacuum cleaner has tripled my time spent vacuuming. It makes a great whirring sound which sounds like it is working, it has a furiously rotating brush inside the head, however, it is all froth and bubble. It kicks dirt out everywhere, and when you think you might have at last sucked it up, you turn the head and it all falls out. Is someone having a joke with me? Where are the cameras? This is the first Dyson I have ever bought thinking it might help with my sons allergies (given the name), but I do not for the life of me know how this coul...
Read mored help one iota with a kid who suffers dust mite allergies. When you dispense the dirt you have to be very careful not to release it and make more dirt then if the catch gets dirt in it, it is very difficult to do up again. I am awaiting the day when this function will fail. Thanks for making my life more difficult Dyson.Purchased in September 2019 at Harvey Norman.

Disappointed
Works great on tiles, struggles on carpet floors. Has anyone else found it just doesn’t pick a great deal up on carpet floors? I have tried all settings and find I am constantly picking up after it like I do for my infant child. I’ve previously owned older model Dyson that worked great on carpet. Disappointed.
Purchased in January 2020 for $500.00.

This is my fourth Dyson vacuum and it has been disappointing. I have now used it for about 8 months and so its not based on just an initial use. It appears that Dyson has focussed too hard on creating more and more suction and not enough on ergonomics and user friendliness. The multi floor head design is poor requiring a lot of physical effort to use on hard floors and downright impossible to move it around on carpets and this is on the low suction setting! Vacuum cleaners are supposed to be manoeuvred with little effort and not become a gym ...
Read moresession. My first Dyson (DCO8T) was probably the best Dyson I had and it has been progressively downhill since then. I have been advised that there is another attachment head that I can purchase for $135 but surely a $700 vacuum cleaner should work well with its default attachments. Lets not even go to the issue of models having different sized attachments so you can't use previous attachments with the newer models or the canister emptying latch being so flimsy as to becoming almost a no-touch opening device.Purchased in June 2019 at David Jones.

Picks up so much unseen dirt!
Just purchased this today from Harvey Norman Everton Park. It blows out a large amount of heat. However the amount of dirt it sucked up was outstanding! Actually I was horrified at how much dirt there was in my bedroom! I emptied the barre twice for one bedroom!! And I vacuum regularly - obviously my old vac was not so good after all!!!! The tools are light weight to counteract the heavy barrel. The tools are very useful and there’s plenty of choice and an extra head in the box. I was pleasantly surprised at all the extra tools. The one for cleaning skirting boards worked a charm!! I’d recommend it.

Zero Stars - Don't waste your money
Buying a $800 + vacuum cleaner that promises quality and efficiency removing pet hair, you expect a top quality product that will last you for years. Not with this Dyson.
I'm extremely disappointed that Dyson offer such a poor product. Poorly made that after 2 weeks using this vacuum cleaner (light use around the house) the wheels came off and you can't place it back. Poor hard plastic that once it's broken you can't do anything about it.
Few months down the track, the power button on and off doesn't work properly too. Once you turn on, it ge...
Read moret stuck and it's a little mission to turn off. Around the same time the little plastic wheel close to the vacuum head doesn't spin either. Again, poorly built and made. Now we have a fancy broken, 1 year old vacuum that can't be used anymore. We always had cheaper vacuums $150 or so and we NEVER had any built issue with it and lasted us years! Will never buy anything from Dyson again. What a waste of money, DON'T waste your money too!Purchased in January 2019.

We bought this as we have four long haired pets. Be warned the animal description only applies to short fur, not long fur which immediately blocks the head.
When we complained the Dyson rep sounded like this isn't the first time they have heard this issue.
Very weak suction, have to go over everything twice. Have gone back to our 6 year old electrolux which is far more powerful. Dyson appears to be nothing but marketing hype.

I miss my old Dyson
After owning a Dyson for 12 years why would I buy anything else... I was excited to see the benefits of 12 years of R&D how sad it was to go so far backwards and wish I never upgraded. The dust lid doesn't always lock properly and spills dust when you remove it, it is hard to move around especially doors, the attachments are always clogged and had to buy special tooling to disassemble clean the dust and hair from the belt and cogs in the head myself instead of always sending it back for repair. My Wife prefers using my $90 Bunnings shop vacuum as it does a better job.

Not Great.
Was initially happy with this cleaner. Had issues with the multi floor head after about 12 months of use, it kept lifting off the floor and losing suction. Dyson kindly replaced the head, but with a different one, not the same as came with the purchase. Whether its the new head or not,bit seems to have loss suction, skims over the floor without picking up dirt/dust. Have previously been a Vax user but went with a Dyson on friend and family recommendations. Should have stuck with a Vax.
Purchased in August 2018 at JB Hi-Fi for $499.00.

Not as good as my original Dyson
My first Dyson nearly 10 years ago was amazing, this one is still good on hard floors (where I could use a broom) but a real struggle to get carpet clean. I have to scrub the carpet then often pick up a ball of fluff or kids hair my hand & feed it into the suction. Its mildly better than my $70 Aldi special but nearly 10x the price. No its not blocked just ineffective on carpet. Surely I dont have to spend 100s extra on an animal head to actually pick anything up from the carpet? I persisted for 3 months as I was so excited to have a Dyson again but now I just want my money back and a vacuum that works on carpet! Oh, and emptying it is a nightmare, dust everywhere from the cheap plastic release button that often gets stuck!

Don't buy into the Dyson hype
The suction levels on the vacuum are poor - refer video. On timber floors it won't pick up anything larger than a grain of rice on first sweep. I have to pick up multiple items by hand as it's faster than moving the vacuum head back and forth again and again. The on/off and cord retractor buttons seem to be fagile, however in fairness I could be wrong. But their size and placement make it difficult to use anything but hands. When emptying the vacuum it has opened unexpectedly on multiple occasions, dumping dust on clean floors. And its quite difficult to get the bottom door of the dust receptacle to stay closed. It's truly awful!

Very brittle plastic.
Functionally it is a vacuum with strong suction, too strong for carpet without reducing the suction. That said, I am not happy with the construction, after 12 months 3 plastic parts have broken in normal use. Another is failing, the barrel has star cracks on the underside where it is buried in the machine. All told poor construction, the plastic is too brittle.

Sturdy and reliable vacuum with good suction
I was very excited to upgrade my existing Dyson V6 Slim cordless to this model because I was slowly loosing patience with the short 20 minute runtime of the V6 Vs 3 hour charge. So I felt that going to a corded vacuum would be a massive improvement.
I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised. The number of attachments and heads that come with this is just phenomenal (compared to the couple that came with the V6). Dyson have really made a vacuum that suits everyone, there's a head for carpet (my primary usage), hard floors, animal dander/ ...
Read morehair, a regular long piece, a stair piece and also a few others so it feels like value for money. Setting it up was straight forward and as a previous Dyson user I had no issues, the tube has an extension at the bottom which allows further reach of up to around 50cm - this is great as I have a bad back and I don't like spending a lot of time bending over (vacuuming with back straight). So I got very excited to plug it in and see the difference, as presumably this would have more umph as the power is from the mains rather than battery. And it definitely lived up to this expectation. Testing out the suction in motion appeared to be stronger than my V6 and the sound was nicer - more deeper than a whining, higher pitched noise. I love the 'ball' feature, it actually works, my hubby tried kicking it a few times and it kept rolling back. One other thing I like about this compared to my V6 is that it doesn't have a filter. Recently my V6 started pulsing, where it would only suction for a few seconds then stop and re-start. I had no idea what was going on, so I went on YouTube and realised that the filter needed cleaning - did this and it started working as normal. So it's nice this doesn't have a filter so avoiding this issue. My two gripes with the machine however, is the weight and bulky-ness. It is fairly heavy to lug around the house over a carpet and carrying it by hand is a bit tedious. It's also fairly bulky compared to my V6 which is just a stick and can be stored easily, this one has to have a dedicated space, so it's not ideal if you're tight for space. On the whole I am pleased with this vacuum. It gives a fresh clean of the carpets and it is easy to empty and holds more dust than its predecessors. If they could make a 'light' version of it I would be over the moon.Purchased in September 2019.

A solid performer that apartment owners would love
Disclaimer: I am a Productreview.com.au Ambassador and will be reviewing the unit provided to me by Dyson.
Let me set the scene for you. We are what you’d call a house proud family. We regularly vacuum, disinfect and tidy. We live in a large three-bedroom with both tiling and carpeted areas. We also have a three-year-old boy who, typical of three-year-old boys, is not so house proud.

My wife works in retail and has access to the previous Dyson Animal model at work, so I had the opportunity to compare and see where the Animal+ improves. So now that we’ve established that I’m no stranger to vacuums, I think it’s important to establish what questions I had of the Animal+, what my expectations were and the kinds of performance criteria I would be evaluating: • How does it perform in real world scenarios? • Is the build quality up to scratch?Purchased in September 2019.

Most disappointing product I’ve ever bought
When my old Dyson needed replacing I didn’t hesitate to replace it with another. However, this has proved to be a very disappointing and frustrating choice- so much so that I felt compelled to submit a review for the first time. Although it works well enough in hard floors and us easy to clean I find it useless on carpets where it all it does is ‘blow’ rather than actually suck especially when it comes to fluff or heavier pieces of dirt. In the end I have to vacuum a very large carpet area with the ‘stick’’ attachment. The carpets never really...

Mostly good but some area for improvement
This is a review from your average household user, so I wont go into the technical side about the vacuum.
We have an antic vacuum cleaner that still uses bag, which is a nightmare to purchase and replace all the time. We also have a bag less stick vacuum that does the job easily but has a very short battery life and takes forever to recharge.

Corded Big Ball vs Cordless V10? Why is better and why?
The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal is a great, solid vacuum cleaner for the whole home. I own a Dyson V10 Absoulte+, so my initial impressions will firstly cover the Big Ball on its own, and then compare it to the Dyson V10.
Out of the box, the Big Ball looks fantastic.
It cleans the carpet excellently, and because it runs through the power point, the power and suction are great. The normal head does a good job at my thick wool carpet, and for the corners, the corner attachment is more than enough. My carpet is really thick, and the Dyson has no...

We have had our CY22 for a couple of year but it has just started making this very loins siren sound after a few seconds of running. It’s not the motor as the pitch of the sound changes with airflow and is opposite to motor speed(lower sound higher revs and vice versa). Bin is regularly emptied.

Dyson - I am very excited about my new vacuum and think I may just have to figure out how to work some aspects. I have used it four or five times. I have had a few trial and error mistakes with the bin not being properly closed and vacuuming dirt all over. Hopefully I've solved that. My turbine head seems very noisy and I'm thinking I probably should be wearing ear protectors. I thought maybe something is clogging it - I have cleaned the brushes on the turbine head a few times as my long hair is wrapping around the roller. I have removed it all but still very noisy and I'm feeling the suction isn't as good as it was the first day. My husband tried it and it was too loud for him and he operates our leaf blower with enthusiasm. The wand seems to be fastened properly. I do feel like it is a simple fix but I just can't find what it is.
