Really great machine but
Got this machine a few months ago to replace my dc08 turbine after the second motor went out. I had high expectations and they were all met it picks up the dirt like nothing else. the tangle free turbine is a great improvement from older models and I love the fact that’s there’s no filters to clean or replace. there is some downfalls 1. The bin never fills up evenly all the dirt will fill all the way to the top at the back and there will be none at the front of the bin. This is a issue my old Dyson only did when sucked up a lot of dirt at one time. 2. I have read reviews that the bin open randomly and yes that has happened to me but only once. Other than that it’s worth the money and a great product

Sturdy and reliable vacuum with good suction
I was very excited to upgrade my existing Dyson V6 Slim cordless to this model because I was slowly loosing patience with the short 20 minute runtime of the V6 Vs 3 hour charge. So I felt that going to a corded vacuum would be a massive improvement.
I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised. The number of attachments and heads that come with this is just phenomenal (compared to the couple that came with the V6). Dyson have really made a vacuum that suits everyone, there's a head for carpet (my primary usage), hard floors, animal dander/ ...
Read morehair, a regular long piece, a stair piece and also a few others so it feels like value for money. Setting it up was straight forward and as a previous Dyson user I had no issues, the tube has an extension at the bottom which allows further reach of up to around 50cm - this is great as I have a bad back and I don't like spending a lot of time bending over (vacuuming with back straight). So I got very excited to plug it in and see the difference, as presumably this would have more umph as the power is from the mains rather than battery. And it definitely lived up to this expectation. Testing out the suction in motion appeared to be stronger than my V6 and the sound was nicer - more deeper than a whining, higher pitched noise. I love the 'ball' feature, it actually works, my hubby tried kicking it a few times and it kept rolling back. One other thing I like about this compared to my V6 is that it doesn't have a filter. Recently my V6 started pulsing, where it would only suction for a few seconds then stop and re-start. I had no idea what was going on, so I went on YouTube and realised that the filter needed cleaning - did this and it started working as normal. So it's nice this doesn't have a filter so avoiding this issue. My two gripes with the machine however, is the weight and bulky-ness. It is fairly heavy to lug around the house over a carpet and carrying it by hand is a bit tedious. It's also fairly bulky compared to my V6 which is just a stick and can be stored easily, this one has to have a dedicated space, so it's not ideal if you're tight for space. On the whole I am pleased with this vacuum. It gives a fresh clean of the carpets and it is easy to empty and holds more dust than its predecessors. If they could make a 'light' version of it I would be over the moon.Purchased in September 2019.

Mostly good but some area for improvement
This is a review from your average household user, so I wont go into the technical side about the vacuum.
We have an antic vacuum cleaner that still uses bag, which is a nightmare to purchase and replace all the time. We also have a bag less stick vacuum that does the job easily but has a very short battery life and takes forever to recharge.
We were very excited to start using one of the latest Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal+, which looks very fashionable and high tech. It was well packed in the box. There were so many parts, which we did ...
Read morenot know what they were for. The instruction booklet was really useless as it has hardly any information inside. For someone who had not used this type of vacuum cleaner before, it was a bit overwhelming. Had to call up the Dyson support and had them emailed me further information about how to extend the hand held stick and what are the different replacement parts were used for. This would have been a problem for someone who is perhaps older and does not use Internet. The instruction booklet should provide sufficient information for all new users. I like using this vac a lot, well designed, great manoeuvrability
This is an Ambassador Review which means I was given the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + free in exchange for writing this review regardless of if the review was good or bad.
Upfront:
I like using this vac a lot, well designed, great manoeuvrability and easiest vac I have used. Only has a couple of minor flaws. If over many years this machine proves to be reliable and robust I’d give it an extra half star so it would be 4.5 instead of 4.
Having used this vac in my home for 3 weeks for FREE and gotten to know it, AND had I been in the market f...

Corded Big Ball vs Cordless V10? Why is better and why?
The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal is a great, solid vacuum cleaner for the whole home. I own a Dyson V10 Absoulte+, so my initial impressions will firstly cover the Big Ball on its own, and then compare it to the Dyson V10.
Out of the box, the Big Ball looks fantastic.
It cleans the carpet excellently, and because it runs through the power point, the power and suction are great. The normal head does a good job at my thick wool carpet, and for the corners, the corner attachment is more than enough. My carpet is really thick, and the Dyson has no...

Having a ball with Dyson...
I gather that there are Dyson people and anti-Dyson people. Those against Dyson complain about the price of their products and with vacuums the noise level being excessive, amongst other things. If you're an anti-Dyson person, you may as well move on, as I'm not going to be able to sell you this vacuum. This is an excellent vacuum in lot's of ways, but it has some of the same Dyson foibles that some of their other models suffer from, but which committed Dyson customers are apparently blind to!
I do find the high-pitched whine of the vacuum...
Read more motors to be annoying, but nothing in comparison to the high-pitched whine of screaming children. Either are easily solved by using earplugs or my preferred solution, bluetooth earpieces playing some calming classical music. Assessing the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal+ is fairly easy. Firstly, after unpacking the machine and it's multiple parts you have to assemble it for use, this may be your first hurdle to surmount, because the "User Guide" has very sparse instructions and as with most technology products these days, it is expected that there is a level of intuitive assembly skills on the part of the customer! If that is your first problem, then it's down hill from here, because you have an array of attachments for different floors, carpet and furnishings which would baffle Einstein and once again the "User Guide" is very secretive about their possible uses. I deduced that the "Grooming Tool" was for grooming your pet(s). I know it sounds logical to suck the loose hair off your moggie or doggie before they deposit it on your carpets or settee, but in practical terms have you ever tried vacuuming an animal? I was in hot pursuit of my cat as it scurried up the hallway escaping a screaming human, dragging a ferociously loud plastic monster. He only escaped because I was abruptly stopped in my pursuit by an impracticably short power cord (a measly 6 metres). Darn it, I'll get him next time, should he ever come out from under the bed! Clearly, there are enough attachments for this vacuum for you to find something that's useful for the job at hand. However if you're like me, you'll find a couple of all-rounders that satisfy your everyday needs for carpets, hard floors and furniture and stick to them, the others (including the grooming tool) will be left in the laundry cupboard. In short, this is as good a vacuum as you are likely to find in the market, yes, it has a few things to get use to, or could be improved a little, but overall it's a well designed machine (who's ever seen a self-righting vacuum after its rolled over?) and what may seem strange to you at first, will become second nature in time. The bottom line is, if you really hate it, take it back within 45 days and get a refund, it's not the end of the world, it's my cat who thinks it is!Purchased in September 2019.

The ultimate vacuum of the future
I recently got the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animial+ yesterday and couldn't believe the power of it let alone the design.
When turning it on to vacuum my carpet within living room the power of the suction was mind blowing. Never seen my carpet so clean within the amount of minutes. It was like getting a professional to do it but instead it was me.
Love the fact that when you go from Carpet to Tile which the setting change automatically where I too used it within the kitchen.
I'm a big believer on the design/colour of a product because if yo...
Read moreu like the way it looks naturally you want to get your hands on it. The colours of blue, red and grey was simply out of this world! I didn't have any issues with it tipping over given the 2x circular wheels on each side making it quite easy to use when vacuuming.Purchased in September 2019.

Excellent vacuum
Very strong suction. I got this one after my old Hoover died and this Dyson hasn't disappointed. After vacuuming, the place feels very clean, including the air. I don't even see little dust particles floating in the air after finishing vacuuming. Emptying the cannister, however, isn't a breeze as it is advertised. I have to empty the cannister and tap gently on the top a few times to remove all the dust. Overall, very satisfied.

Bought this one to replace the stand up type Dyson Animal which was heavy
The ball is lighter and easier to use. it sucks like mad and is easier to clean. The container for dust is a little smaller, but it seems more robust and is easy to take out and in.

Best vacuum I've used
I use this vac on rugs and hard floors. We have a dog and a cat and there are three adults and two messy kids.
I upgraded from a bag free Hoover and what a difference!
There's no messing about with this one - everything gets sucked up and because it's bagless you see it happening. My rugs haven't ever had such a thorough clean.
I like the fact you can clean the filters yourself and don't have the added expense of buying replacements.
The parts click neatly together and can be easily taken apart.
It's a very attractive-looking machine, which i...

Lots of suction, lots of plastic parts to break
The vacuum cleaner is really good as far a suction and cleaning power go. Gives a good deep clean on carpet and easy going on tile floors. The lack of bag is a great concept and there's a good array of tools.
On the downside Dyson has never been big on plastics quality. The plastics components are weak and flimsy and will fail easily. Whilst its a good cleaner make sure and take out extended warranty

Could be better
Bought to replace a 10 year old "high end" Electrolux Barrel that had a few broken bits of plastic. I have a mix of hard floor, carpets and stairs. Do not have pets as such, but family members with long hair. I have used Dyson's before, but not owned one. Cannot comment on reliability as only a month old.
Good:
The small roating head accessory is great for stairs
Suction is excellent: on first use I found "extra" dust
Does not fall over
Light to carry
Most accessories attach to the wand
No bags !!

Disappointed
I use to believe that "you get what you paid for".. not with the Dyson unfortunately. Dont get me wrong, it works great, but its overpriced. I few issues I have with it. 1. Hose too short. 2. Bin does not shut correctly/easily. You have to make sure its clipped in and fit correctly or the door will open without you opening it. Maybe I got a faulty seal door *shrugs* 3. Extremely hot air output. 4. Handle makes my hands hurt and its heavy.

We have had our CY22 for a couple of year but it has just started making this very loins siren sound after a few seconds of running. It’s not the motor as the pitch of the sound changes with airflow and is opposite to motor speed(lower sound higher revs and vice versa). Bin is regularly emptied.

Dyson - I am very excited about my new vacuum and think I may just have to figure out how to work some aspects. I have used it four or five times. I have had a few trial and error mistakes with the bin not being properly closed and vacuuming dirt all over. Hopefully I've solved that. My turbine head seems very noisy and I'm thinking I probably should be wearing ear protectors. I thought maybe something is clogging it - I have cleaned the brushes on the turbine head a few times as my long hair is wrapping around the roller. I have removed it all but still very noisy and I'm feeling the suction isn't as good as it was the first day. My husband tried it and it was too loud for him and he operates our leaf blower with enthusiasm. The wand seems to be fastened properly. I do feel like it is a simple fix but I just can't find what it is.

Hi
When I vacuum carpet with my Dyson Big Ball it doesn't seem to pick up what is on the floor but instead seems to collect it then sucks it back out onto the floor. Any recommendations on how to stop this?
