2nd review after owning for 6 months
I was happy at first, but its crap I actually hate it,
My machine doesn't pick up like my old vaccum (bosch) the hole to vaccum is too small, its like you have to pick up every little thing before u vaccum then it still gets blocked all the time, I have girls so I vaccum a lot of hair it always blocks the vaccum, no matter what head I have on it.
It already stopped working once already (but dyson does have excellent customer service and it was fixed)
But I just don't like it, I feel it is not strong enough suction, like I was used with my old...Read more

Very little power. No comparison to older Dyson models.
Have only had this vacuum for 8 days and I hate it.
I'm so disappointed. It has very poor suction compared to the DC25 that I have had for 10 years (that was still working up until a fortnight ago).
The vacuum head skips on the carpet every time you pull it back, unless at exactly right angle.
The switch for hard floor or carpet changes on its own while vaccuuming.
When I spoke to Dyson they suggested I buy a different head for it. The part is $135.
If the retailer had a money back guarantee, I would be returning it.

Not worth It
Purchased 3 years ago & only tried to use it twice before putting it in garage as after going over an over fluff on the carpet I had to bend down and pick it up. ( So just use my v6 slim cordless) Thought it was my carpet 3 yrs later it’s still new so just tried on my mums carpet as it’s been just sitting in the box unused and the same thing happens it sucks on your hand but picks hardly anything up after 10mins use the V6 slim again is full in minutes!!

Nothing to fault! Amazing!
i use this vacuum daily on a number of floor types, wood and tile being the main two. It has never let me down. My family have been customers of Dyson our entire lives and refuse to use anything else. There quality is amazing and dealing with complaint, purchases or anything else is always smooth and a positive experience.

I believe in dyson and this is dissapointing.
After 10 years our much loved Dyson died and we decided to get us another Dyson as a replacement. First time when I tried this new one with standard brush head it comes with I seriously tought something was wrong with the suction. I kept checking all the connections and the hose but everything was fine...brush spins so some suction is definitely there but it simply is not enough suction guys, and I mean almost no suction at all to the point that there are small DRY crumbs on the laminated floor/tiles and brush just moves it (does not suck at al...Read more
l!!!). Today I found myself pushing crumbs to the wall and then having to remove the head/brush and vacuming directly with the hose opening....that kind of poor suction is not reasonable to come with this rather pricey machine. After having 5 days of hope and thinking that some magic will happen I am at the point of crying now as 5 days in and I am stuck with 2 useless Dyson vacum cleaners. In having said this on a positive note the tiny hair brush was great to remove cat hair from the outside couch but is not even close replacement for regular size brush as one would have to vacuum 3-4 times longer to cover the same surface area as with the regular brush/head. UPDATE: Vacum has been returned to dyson due to above fault as has been requested, it looked clean on return, no papework of work carried out was received. Suction issue still same. Plus one of the brushes was not returned. Annoyed, yes. Dissapointed, yes. Dyson customers have an expectation that is why we choose to spend our money there and to receive a brand new item that is very much bellow expectation without any paperwork/explanation is just not ok.Purchased in January 2020 at Harvey Norman for A$750.00.

It is a great vacuum
Dyson is my favourite brand of vacuum. The big ball is excellent for my house. 6 people, all tiles aside from 2 bedrooms. Its easy to use, LOVE that I don't have to clean filters or change bags etc. The only downside so far for me (I've owned two in the last 4 years, upgrading to my current one a year ago) is the barrel when emptying is difficult to close - my first one was great but this particular model is a little frustrating. I don't particularly like the roller brush as it seems to spit the dirt back onto the floor more often than i would ...Read more
like. Also the cord could be a bit longer - but it seems that most vacuums have shorter cords these days so it's not a huge deal. The adaptors are great, I can use my older foot on my newer vacuum. Overall, I'm really impressed and would definitely purchase another in the future.Purchased in August 2018 for A$360.00.

Perfect for those with carpet and shedding pets
I was very excited to receive this unit for testing from productreview as 1) I have two kids and a dog who sheds HUGE amounts of fur year-round, and so we use our vacuum daily, and 2) I've never had the opportunity to use what could be considered a higher-range vacuum cleaner.
As soon as I received the box I set to work on unpacking and assembling the unit straight away. Assembly was pretty straight-forward and after having a look at all the parts, it was easy to get everything together; I didn't need to consult the manual. One of the first th...Read more
ings I noticed was how solid and slick all the parts feel. I like the way everything neatly and easily clicks together, and swapping one attachment for another proved to be quick and simple. The cord is also very long -- much longer than on other vacuums I've owned -- and in my smallish three bedroom house I'm able to vaccum the loungeroom, three bedrooms and kitchen before having to switch plugs, which is pretty awesome and feels like a massive time saver. We don't have carpet in our house (although we do have a couple of large rugs; more on that later) and so I was mainly using the hard floor brush attachment. The unit glides smoothly along the floor, rights ITSELF if it gets knocked over, and picks up dirt, dust and fur easily. I've found the design also makes it easier to avoid accidentally picking up larger debris which might inadvertently clog your vacuum, so that was a nice plus for me as I tend to do that quite a bit. I did notice that when emptying the vacuum of dirt the contents look somewhat different to what I'm accustomed to. There appeared to be a lot of finer, almost dust-like, dirt there which makes me feel as if I'm getting a deeper clean on the floors. We also have two long rugs leading from the living room to the kitchen and trying to vacuum the dirt and dog hair from the (black) rugs using our older Kmart vacuum has been a bit of a nightmare; our dog has light fur and it really sticks. Using our other vacuum cleaner on the rugs, it just won't budge on the fur. With the Dyson, I was SO impressed by the carpet attachment (on a side note, please don't stick your fingers anywhere near the head while using the carpet attachment; it really hurts!) on the rug. Picking up the dirt and dog hairs, which really cling, was an absolute breeze and left our rugs looking as good as new. If you don't have a shedding pet, and don't use your vacuum all that often, a lower range vacuum would probably do the trick for you. If you're a daily user like me, have carpet and heavily shedding pets, this could be a really solid investment for you. I was left so impressed by the performance of this vaccum on our rugs and if clinging pet hair around the house is an ongoing issue for you, I'd definitely consider looking into this vaccum as an option; it doesn't disappoint!Similar opinion? Excellent vacuum, really sucks!
As a Product Ambassador, full disclosure this product was provided by Dyson for my full review. As with all my reviews, I'm concise, fair and most importantly, unbiased. I believe in letting others know what they may be getting with their hard earned money. The good, the bad and the ugly. I've found extremely long reviews, people may skim, too short and they don't get enough info. I hope this will help you make that decision to purchase.

ood way! First it includes many, many attachments, far more than any other canister vacuum I've owned. Each has a different purpose and some even have a dual purpose which is a great space saving detail. Now there is no where to store all the attachments which is why I've deducted 1/4 of a star. While they all work well, they can be easily lost unless you keep everything in a bag near the vacuum. There is one clip that you can attach two tools to, and this attaches on the main "wand". Suction was excellent and it was surprisingly quiet from what I remember what Dysons were of the past. It's quite lightweight and easily manoeuvres around anywhere and a nifty feature is if it topples over it automatically tips back to the proper position. A cool feature which I will attach video. While over all quality is quite good, there is quite a lot of rather thin plastic which make me wonder long term durability. This subtracts 1/2 star as the main wand is plastic where many in this price class are metal tubes. I do love how it empties now, as it's a quick easy affair with rubber "squeegees" that cleans off the main part inside the dust. With an older Dyson cordless, lint and such sticks quite badly to this and you need to manually brush it off. So this new way is excellent. The cord is long reaching and it's easy to clean with minimal changing of a power point. The brush heads for both carpet and bare floors work great, using mostly the hard floor tool. I also tried out the nifty dog brush tool which allows you to brush your dogs and all the hair is vacuumed up! Great feature, but still a bit scary for some dogs who don't like the vacuum to start, but my got used to it quite quickly. Gets quite warm after extended use but this seems to be normal for all vacuums now-a-days. I wish there were a place to slip the wand/pole onto the canister itself, especially at the price but not a major issue. Overall an amazing vacuum and bested all my expectations by far. The final 1/4 of a star is due to the lack of clear instructions and the inability to change a filter/wash it. Granted it's stated as a lifetime, but still would like the option to change if I wanted.Purchased in September 2019.

This is one powerful vacuum cleaner!
We all have heard about Dyson and its vacuum cleaners. We have also seen them stand out with their bright colours and we know of their reputation as being at the top end of the vacuum cleaner market. Are they worth the hype? Going by the results of this particular vacuum cleaner, I would say yes.
First impression of this vacuum cleaner is that it appears very plastic. Everything is made of plastic, including the wand (or tube, depending on what some people call it) which on many other vacuum cleaners is often metal. It is, however, robust plas...Read more
tic that is thick but at the same time not heavy. Perhaps the only weakness is the on/off and cord retraction switches, which are relatively small lever type switches. They appear a little light in their construction giving the impression that they might one day break – you need to be aware of this and not press them too hard with your foot. What I must say is that this vacuum cleaner has a deceivingly powerful suction. It is not until you compare it to other reputable vacuum cleaners that you realise how good it cleans. I say “deceivingly” because the turbo head is very easy to push around, giving the impression that it is not sucking as much as some other vacuum cleaners, but is actually extracting a lot of fine dust and dirt that those other vacuum cleaners cannot do. I have used the vacuum cleaner on tiled surfaces, carpets and furniture. It works great on all these surfaces, but its real point of difference is how well it can extract dust and dirt from carpets and rugs. I have made a video of the Dyson immediately following up on another good brand vacuum cleaner and the results are impressive, and makes you wonder how much dust we have been living amongst before the Dyson. The video is attached to this review. The big ball refers to the fact that the vacuum cleaner body is mainly round – this gives it the ability to correct itself if it is dragged over – conventional vacuum cleaners have a tendency to flip over if yanked sideways or too hard, requiring you to pick it up to correct it. In all my usage of the Dyson vacuum cleaner, it has corrected itself every time, albeit, tipping over was not a common occurrence. The vacuum cleaner does squeak a little when moved around. It also feels a little unstable/unsteady when pressing the switches – however, it only moves slightly but does not tip over.Purchased in September 2019.

Cant live without it
This can be used on any floor type. Short pile to long pile to tiles and wooden floors. Easy to move around, love that if it falls over, it picks itself up. Love that it has no filters to worry about washing or replacing EVER! The service centre help is second to none and answered all my enquiries as To differences between machines before I purchased.

Lives up to the Dyson name
I own three long haired animals so I was excited to try this animal + directly on the animals plus the hair they are shedding all over the house at this time of year especially.
I find I am vacuuming every two days so this vacuum got a very good trial. I had a bit of a problem trying to do the online warranty, it wouldn't accept the number for some reason so I will have to ring them about that.

y and has damaged my walls and architraves being so solid and heavy. My DC23 is going strong after 10 years and I actually do love it with the turbohead. So, that being said it was nice to trial this product and compare. Pluses with this vacuum: 1. It is lightweight, easy to zip out and quickly vacuum up a mess which I love. Very manoeuvrable. 2. Clear canister is great for seeing how much dirt is in there and that it needs emptying and seeing what the heck you just sucked up from under the kids bed.Purchased in September 2019.

Great Powerful Vacuum
Overall my Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal+ is a great Vacuum, heres why i love it;
• It does what it’s made for!
This vacuum claims to be powerful and... It is! When i first opened it, i vacuumed what i thought was a clean bit of carpet, but when i looked at the clear barrel it had a lot of dust in it! This is great news for asthmatics or people with allergies.
• It does not tip
If you pull it around awkward corners, a usual vacuum would tip over and you would have to stop what you’re doing to put it back up... this is very frustrating and can...Read more

The Only Vacuum Cleaner You'll Ever Need
I have been using the Dyson Cordless V8 Absolute (cordless), and it has been a breeze to use, until I’ve got to try the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal +. This review is not to compare the two products as they’re from different family of products, however what I enjoyed the most about the Dyson Cinetic, is how it reaches the far end of objects.
To start, assembling the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal +, is as easy as 1,2,3. Click this, click that, click there and that’s it, you’re ready to start vacuuming. All you need to do is attach the power he...Read more
ad you need, attach the handle, and the wand and that’s it, you’re ready. Ease of use: The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball is quite easy to use, it falls, it re-adjusts itself instantly, and the beauty of this is you don’t lose any suctions or experience any functionality issues. It’s there to fix itself back up while you’re on and about vacuuming as though as nothing’s happened. Assembling the Dyson is easy as, and vacuuming, well, you know it. It’s also easy to carry around if you have stairs for example. It’s not as heavy as it looks, at least it wasn’t heavy for me, and it’s quite comfortable to carry. Dyson’s design is really impressive.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

A Solid Vacuum for Homes with Animals
Our home is not just ours, it’s also our pet's and where there are pets, there’s fur! For as long as I can remember we have called upon our existing Dysons (DC44 Animal cordless and a much older DC19 canister) to help win the war against pet hair.
My experience with the new Animal+ has shown me that Dyson continues to innovate. It’s more powerful, more quiet and better in just about every way when comparing it to our existing fleet of vacuums.
The included accessories are plentiful, you receive the standard combo crevice & dusting tool, upho...Read more
lstery and stair tool, groom tool, dedicated hard floor head and my personal favourite, the tangle free turbine brush. On first impressions, I was wasn’t sure the turbine floor tool would be that good. The nylon brushes are fairly soft and it’s air driven versus being powered by a motor. After my first use any apprehension I had was quickly dismissed. This is hands down, the best turbine head in the business. It has plenty of power to remove the most persistent of pet hair and the brush doesn’t bog down on our carpet or door mats. It requires little effort to push on our carpet and almost none on hard floors. The fact that the turbine head can go from carpet to hard floors with no adjustment is fantastic. We’ve had no problems on our bamboo floating floors and it would appear the soft carbon fibre brushes completely remove the fine layer of dust that accumulates over time. The dedicated hard floor tool is amazing. It articulates in ways I didn’t think were possible, or of benefit to the vacuuming experience. Its low profile allows you to easily get under most furniture and how it pivots sideways to go down the side of the fridge is very useful and time saving. During its general use, the other half and I were gleeful at the sound of what we can only assume was sand, rice, crumbs and other debris being removed from what appeared to be a clean floor.Similar opinion? This is the epitome of vacuuming
So my new vacuum arrived, a Dyson Cinetic Big Ball, Animal+. Excitedly, like a little kid at Christmas, I opened it and went through the parts and read the instructions. I will say the instructions
So, let's start at the instructions. Mostly pictorial, but some very important information is printed. Initially, I had a few issues figuring out some of the pieces, but with some click and play, and a good read over a cuppa I had it sorted.
I will say up front, I have previously written a review for another brand of vacuum cleaner (Hoover), and h...Read more
onestly, that set a very high bar to beat, so the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal+ really had to achieve. Now being the owner of a long haired German Shepherd, I have needed a quality vacuum, which was able to handle pet hair. My old vacuum has been doing a pretty good job to date. First impressions, I felt the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal+ looked like it would fall over at the first glance, but surprise, surprise, Dyson have taken care of this. The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal+ cleverly rights itself if it is knocked over. This intrigued me, so a quick bit of research told me, Dyson had identified and addressed this. So, does the vacuum right itself if it is knocked on its side? Yes, yes it does. Now remember, I mention owning a German Shepherd? Well, he is not a fan of vacuum cleaners, like most dogs, he finds knocking the vacuum over a game, so in the past, I have had to right the vacuum, turn it off wait for the vacuum to release the blocker and start again. Well, no more! The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal+ certainly does stand back up, if knocked over.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

refer a longer cord-10 metres would be perfect. It has a large canister which is easy to empty (a big improvement on my older DC23 model) and to remove and replace.I do find the power and cord retract buttons a little flimsy, they are fine to use your hand but i think they could break if you were using your foot on them.Performance wise, this vacuum has amazingly powerful suction! The carpet head sucks up everything from super fine dust particles to dry dog food with ease-nothing is a problem for this machine! Although I did find there was a bit of pushing and pulling required with it not having a motorhead and the handle felt a little awkward to hang on to on the carpet. The hard floor tool is very soft, great for timber and smooth tiles but I do find it tends to flip up on bricks and on my uneven sandstone tiles, the carpet head is better for these but that does make it extra loud.In fact, it is very loud in general which may be a problem for some people. The stair tool is great as is the pet hair too but I can't try the grooming tool as my dog is scared of the vacuum. I do find it heavy to carry upstairs but I have been using a stick vacuum for awhile now so I think I'm just out of the habit of using a barrel vac. All in all, this is a great vacuum,as you would expect from Dyson, with very strong suction that will pick up anything and leave your floors beautifully clean, no filters to wash( which I love) and easy to empty. Its probably the best barrel vacuum I have used and I've had 3 Dysons and several other brands in the past and nothing else has come close to this as far as suction. If you are in the market for a barrel vacuum cleaner then I would definitely recommend this one.Purchased in September 2019.

This is a much better result than I expected or even considered. Clearly Dyson believe and stand by their product. I hope it lives up to the hype this time. Worst Vacuum Cleaner I have ever owned - don't waste your money
I used to be a huge Dyson fan. I would rave about their products to everyone. This was about 10 years ago or so. Now they have moved their factories to Asia I wonder if this is why the quality has gone down.
This vacuum cleaner is a monumental waste of money.
I will list why:-
1) The ball design doesn't aid with maneuverability. It's just as heavy an cumbersome to drag around like any regular brick style vacuum cleaner. It kills my back dragging this thing around the house. The wheels only run in one direction (backwards and fowards) so don't ...Read more

Dyson - I am very excited about my new vacuum and think I may just have to figure out how to work some aspects. I have used it four or five times. I have had a few trial and error mistakes with the bin not being properly closed and vacuuming dirt all over. Hopefully I've solved that. My turbine head seems very noisy and I'm thinking I probably should be wearing ear protectors. I thought maybe something is clogging it - I have cleaned the brushes on the turbine head a few times as my long hair is wrapping around the roller. I have removed it all but still very noisy and I'm feeling the suction isn't as good as it was the first day. My husband tried it and it was too loud for him and he operates our leaf blower with enthusiasm. The wand seems to be fastened properly. I do feel like it is a simple fix but I just can't find what it is.

Oh yes!
This is a feature of the obstinate Big Ball !
Didn't they tell you !
The suction inlet gets blocked with anything bigger than a gnats testicle.
So you have to open it to clear the obstruction.
Good idea never to open your machine inside the house.
Oh I don't have a problem with suction. But I do have a problem with the clip at bottom of cylinder. Wont stay closed. Dirt everywhere

We are sorry to hear the bin is opening on your machine when not expected. Sometimes, this can happen if the bin is pushed back up into position without closing the trap door first. We encourage closing the trap door, then pushing the bin back up into position.
If this is how you already close the bin or this continues, please just get in touch with our Dyson Experts and we will be happy to help get this sorted. You can find our contact details here: https://www.dyson.com.au/support/contact-us
