2nd review after owning for 6 months
I was happy at first, but its crap I actually hate it,
My machine doesn't pick up like my old vaccum (bosch) the hole to vaccum is too small, its like you have to pick up every little thing before u vaccum then it still gets blocked all the time, I have girls so I vaccum a lot of hair it always blocks the vaccum, no matter what head I have on it.
It already stopped working once already (but dyson does have excellent customer service and it was fixed)
But I just don't like it, I feel it is not strong enough suction, like I was used with my old...
Purchased at Harvey Norman for $599.00.
Always had Dyson in last 20years and am disapointed
You take the barrel off every 2nd time and it opens on the floor, I make sure it's clicked in properly ( base to barrel) but it still does it. Is there a fix for this ??? any help would be appreciated

- Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor
Not a good choice
Too heavy and cumbersome to move. End up carrying it around the house - which is not ideal. Worst point is that it does not actual suck up the dirt. It kind of pushes everything around and ends up with in clumps, which I guess is easier to pick up. I have no idea why people rave over this brand. Could not be more disappointed.

It has issues
I have had numerous dysons over the last 25 years. This is by far the least well designed. While suction is excellent. Yes, you have to clean the brushes on the turbo head every now and then but I have to do that on all of them. The main design fault with this dyson is that the barrel, when you want to remove it to empty it, opens up and the contents get emptied all over the vacuum cleaner and your floor. So you have to clean the machine re-assemble it and then vacuum the floor, albeit small portion of it, again. The design of this one is very much bellow par in comparison to other dysons.

Scratching My Timber Floors
The suction is quite good on the vacuum cleaner and I like the fact that it is quite compact, however, it is scratching my timber floors and I can no longer use this vacuum cleaner on the timber floors which make up the majority of the flooring in my house.

Great suction, but starts to leave scratches on wooden floor
I have this Dyson for quite a while now, but since a few weeks it leaves a scratches on my wooden floor.
It looks like the shoe cover below the MuscleHead has become too thin to not make the whole head run without rubbing the floor and leave marks.
Even after putting the head on the minimum suction, it still leaves mark.
I end up not using it anymore. That's a shame because it's my first Dyson.
I am so disappointed with this vacuum. It pushes the dirt around on hard surfaces and any hair it picks up from the carpet gets stuck in the brush head. I have to disassemble during and after each use to cut the hair from the brush and remove dust blocked in the tube. When I called Dyson they tried to imply that having three girls with long hair was abnormal and then tried to tell me that cleaning out the brush and tube during and after each use was the normal maintenance procedure for this vacuum. This to me is a faulty machine, but when sent ...away to test, it just came back saying they couldn’t find a fault. Is it tested on a bald bachelor? They then tried to tell me it was up to the retail store I bought it from to refund me but of course the retail store tell me it’s up to Dyson, so no one is willing to take responsibility and I’m left with a product that is totally useless to me.

Really great machine but
Got this machine a few months ago to replace my dc08 turbine after the second motor went out. I had high expectations and they were all met it picks up the dirt like nothing else. the tangle free turbine is a great improvement from older models and I love the fact that’s there’s no filters to clean or replace. there is some downfalls 1. The bin never fills up evenly all the dirt will fill all the way to the top at the back and there will be none at the front of the bin. This is a issue my old Dyson only did when sucked up a lot of dirt at one time. 2. I have read reviews that the bin open randomly and yes that has happened to me but only once. Other than that it’s worth the money and a great product

Dyson that didn't live up to it's claims.
I had my Dyson for about 3 years. From the start, I wasn't a fan with my Dyson. I hated cleaning the dust bin. The dirt would stick to the top of the unit. I would have to pull the dirt out and tap it to shake the fine dust out. The dirt at the top of the unit would stick and I would have to rub it off. Recently the suction power has weakened, almost to no suction at all. I empty the dust bin after every use and I still experience loss of suction. It's messy and unpleasant to clean the dust bin. My Dyson was a disappointment and didn't live up to it's claims. I'm going to buy a different kind of vacuum, that I don't have to work so hard to clean.

- Cinetic Big Ball Allergy
Not worth the money, unlike older Dysons. Design flaws plague this model.
As I've had this vacuum for a few years now, I feel I am now able to provide a comprehensive review of its abilities. We used to have a Dyson upright that had served us well but we weren't a fan of how heavy it was to push and how difficult it was to use the tightly retracted hose without the unit tipping over, so we decided to stay within the brand and purchase a more familiar barrel-type vacuum (like our previous ones), despite this being the most we spent on a vacuum, which was reasonable when expecting this to last many years. We spent extr...a on the Allergy variant as we were interested in the turbine brush for use on carpeting. The truth is, it isn't really that great on any floor surface. On my old house's laminate floors, the floor tool simply pushed dirt around rather than sucking it in unless you made a conscious effort to go over dust very slowly. On tile, it's marginally better but not very much so. On carpet, it was fine initially on shallow loop pile carpet, but on any cut pile rug/carpeting (still shallow), it struggles to pick up surface level dust even with a clean bin and otherwise good suction. The floor tool despite it being Dyson's "best", needs constant passes just to get surface level dust, let alone embedded dust which there's no way of proving if it is removed or not. We never wear our outdoor shoes inside so the carpets never get too dirty, but for those who do, I doubt this machine will inspire any confidence as it is already struggling with regular house dust. The BIGGEST issue with this machine is the design flaws and poor build quality. The most troublesome issue is the weak latch mechanism on the bin. It is a small bit of plastic which holds the bin shut but I have faced the same issue many have complained about since the very beginning, which despite how tight and secure it is when installing the bin, upon removal, the bin lid will flip open and dump all the dust you’ve been vacuuming up back onto your floors. I’ve attached an image of the size of the catch, beside a 20c coin for scale. It is absolutely tiny and over time as the motor’s heat/vibration makes the plastic mechanisms not as tightly sealed as it is brand new (this part sits right up beside the motor), it is able to slide away from the catch. I cannot fathom why they would cheap out on this vital piece, when they simply could’ve made a wider ridge for the hook to catch on. To date, I’ve gone back to Dyson numerous times and they just keep sending me the same flawed bin which works fine initially but then exhibits the same issue after less than a year (and I don’t even vacuum very frequently). I cannot trust it anymore and have to have my hand under the container as I carefully walk to my bin to empty it. That brings me to the emptying part – it’s nowhere near as easy or hygienic as they make it seem. The bottom lid gets dust and hair in its crevices, and as with any other bagless there seems to be a small plume of dust that flies around as you empty it. Many times, I’ve had to even use my hands to aid clumps of dust out into an old plastic bag. I cannot believe this is marketed towards ALLERGY sufferers, I don’t have any allergies and it’s sickening enough emptying this one and its poorly designed bin without dust flying everywhere. Within a year, in early 2017, the wheel fell of the unit and upon inspection, it was an in-warranty repair as the heat generated by the unit had weakened the plastic attachment. It had to be sent back to Dyson to be attached back on. That was pretty disappointing as I’ve never once had that happen on previous models but the wheel on this unit seems to be a thin disc of plastic built more for aesthetics than function, but I’m just glad it happened within the warranty period. I’ve paid for the extended warranty a couple of years back as the manufacturer’s warranty was about to end and the machine had given me enough worries as it is. Now that is about to end soon and overall, given the disappointing price to performance ratio of this vacuum, this is the very last Dyson I will own. I’ve always believed in the bagless hype but after seeing that even this the ‘ultimate’ bagless vacuum, has not been appreciably better and in some cases worse than my previous one, I may very well get my very first bagged vacuum (going by Product Review, I seemed to have found some top-rated Mieles, plus I’ve already had good experiences with the brand, so I am tempted). I was never a fan of consumables but seeing what a pain this is in terms of maintenance and emptying, my mind is now open to alternatives. Just don’t fall for the marketing – the whole bin design is flawed and it is NOT a pleasant experience dealing with this in the long run – but then again this is a brand that demonises well-priced traditional alternatives to sell you their own $800 tower fan or $500 hairdryer, so why am I surprised that quality went down the drain and margins shot up with this most-recent series of vacuums. Never again…

Avoid Dyson Barrel vacuums- you'll end up carrying the heavy barrel in your other hand.
Purchased the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Origin from David Jones for $397 AU on 20/6/20. After the first use hated it (still hate it after the 3rd use)- doesn't suck well enough, even on the max setting (ie won't vacuum a hair ball off carpet), the barrel doesn't follow along behind you but rather tries to go the wrong way, doesn't roll at all, or just tips over. It is frustrating +++. So you have to end up carrying the HEAVY barrel in the other hand and consequently hurting your back. The bin emptying function is also terrible and the base keeps o...pening (thus dumping the contents on your foot/ floor/ itself/ any nearby pet) even if you click it into place. Just awful. I've contacted both Dyson and David Jones to request a replacement with the stick vacuum and haven't got a response.

Doesn’t work well for cars and carpets
I found the suction very poor, does not get the sand off the car carpets and mats easily. My old Electrolux was far better for less than half the price. Also on carpets, it does a poor job with pet hair, it just gathers them into a big ball of hair in front of the head. Very disappointed and planning on returning it ASAP

Pneumatic head useless on carpet
After years of a conventional cleaner we decided to go for a Dyson. So far that seems a mistake. We were advised by the salesperson in JB Hi Fi to go for this multi floor pneumatic after describing our floors. It was more expensive dive but we thought this would be good. We can’t even push the head over our medium pile carpet and the finer carpet sticks like a limpet mine. Surely Dyson are smarter than this. So now after more than $500 we still don’t have a vacuum cleaner to clean our house properly. Very disappointed in our first Dyson product.

- Cinetic Big Ball Animal+
Ideal for small fall and on carpet and tiled surfaces
I used this in a 57sq m carpeted flat and on a tiled bathroom floor and tiled balcony. It is easy to manipulate and manoeuvre. The powerful suction left surfaces dust free. The ejection of debris is easy and the multiple fittings are ideal for all areas. Recommended.

not as good as the older models
Have been using dyson vacuum for the past twenty years, this is the worst model that I ever had. First, the new quick-release mechanism doesn't work well. Its hard to release or connect it to the main hose or wand. And then the worst part is to empty the container bin. The red release button doesn't really pushes dirt out or the barrel, alot of the time the dirt/dust get stucked at the top of the barrel and need to remove it by hand. Also the opening lid will cover of dust when emptying, so cleaning the lid (especially the plastic rubber seal) is required.

Broke just a few months after purchase
I was happily vacuuming the carpet just over 5 months after buying it on boxing Day sales and it snapped broken in my hand. The big extended tube links with a piece to the handle, that piece is glued or fused somehow and it's become unglued. Customer care were nice after an 8' wait on the phone but even though another part will be sent to my home it will take up to 14 days and Customer care representative offered no solution as to how I can manage without vacuuming in the meantime.
Really disappointed that I finally decide to go for the reputable and expensive Dyson brand and it lasts the least of all the vacuum cleaners I have ever had.
Hoping this is not the first of a series of breakdowns and it's just a one off.
Purchased in December 2019 at Noel Leeming Online store for $350.00.
I wanted to love my Dyson but I don’t. I expected more for the price. The suction is good but the fact that the dust container lid pops open occasionally by itself spilling dust everywhere is a huge downside. Dyson keeps saying it’s not supposed to do that but the fact that many reviews complain about this might indicate that it is a design flaw. Very annoying. Wish you would just accept it’s an issue and fix this.

- Cinetic Big Ball Origin
Very little power. No comparison to older Dyson models.
Have only had this vacuum for 8 days and I hate it.
I'm so disappointed. It has very poor suction compared to the DC25 that I have had for 10 years (that was still working up until a fortnight ago).
The vacuum head skips on the carpet every time you pull it back, unless at exactly right angle.
The switch for hard floor or carpet changes on its own while vaccuuming.
When I spoke to Dyson they suggested I buy a different head for it. The part is $135.
If the retailer had a money back guarantee, I would be returning it.

Don’t fall for the hype
The only positive of this vac is the suction. It does pick up the dirt, however ... that’s if the head you need to use at the time doesn’t twist over. My biggest issue is actually emptying it. It was sold to me as perfect for allergies, so easy to use and empty. No mess, no fuss! Well that’s a load of rubbish. Now if your lucky enough to get the barrel off the vac without it just opening and leaving all your dirt back where it started... you get to the bin and push the red button and down the dirt comes, and then you have to get in there and gi...ve it a good shake and pull all the fluff from the filters so then by this time your covered in dust and if you suffer from allergies, let me tell u this isn’t a great thing! Then the exciting part of trying to get the dust lid closed again, and actually staying closed, that’s a challenge too. The tiny clip doesn’t seem to hold properly. I bought this for hard wood and carpet flooring. Bought the one with all the attachments. Extremely annoying to have to keep going back and forth finding the tools you need cause not on the vac it self. The ball is heavy and awkward. The stick handle is very light and can adjust length which is good. However still feels very cheap. Unfortunately I’ve had this bad purchase since February and now stuck with it till I can save for something else.
Purchased in February 2020 at The Good Guys for $795.00.
I used this vacuum for carpet dan floor wood also tile.
Works good and suction.
Its still good until today after 3 years.
Most product dying after 2 years of using.
Worth the money.

Questions & Answers
Hi I am wondering where is the filter located for Dyson Cinetic Big Ball allergy
The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball features Dyson Cinetic Science. Dyson Cinetic Science is so efficient, the dust and dirt is separated from the air into the bin, without the need for a washable filter. The machine has a post motor filter which is there to capture carbon dust from the motor however is designed to last the lifetime of the machine without the need to wash/replace it.
Dyson Cinetic Science features ultra-efficient cyclones with Cinetic tips. These tips allow our cyclones to be small, and they vibrate to ensure the ultra-fine dust doesn't clog them, rather, ends up in the bin for you to empty when you have finished your cleaning session.
Our Dyson big ball animal pro is only a couple of months old. The power head spins but doesn’t pick up anything on the carpet , I’ve removed any fluff or anything around the roller. The normal head works fine on hard floors.

It makes it then impossible to vacuum ,The suction is also extreme and makes it very hard to push on carpet leaving balls of fluff. I do not have pets so no excuse for a lot of hair on my floor, Please advise as I am extremely disappointed
