I have had my Dyson for 15 years. It’s been very faithful and not once been serviced. I’ve replaced the wand a few years ago and filters. However…Just now the “Turbine Head” is not working probably..there is no spinning of the rollers when I’m vacuuming the carpet. Where can I purchase another as all about this model is deleted .. What dyson head will fit DC08TSY
You cannot by heads from Dyson anymore but you may be able to find something on eBay
We do apologise for any disappointment, however due to the age of the DC08 range, we no longer are able to assist with genuine replacement parts. We can't recommend any non-genuine parts will work to the same specifications as they aren't tested or endorsed by Dyson.
That being said at time of writing, we do have an offer for DC08 owners. To find out more, please email your details and the serial number of your machine to auaskdyson@dyson.com and our Dyson Experts will be happy to help.
What is the difference between dc08 and dc08T I need a full tool set
I can’t get barrel out to clean
If you can't remove the bin from the machine, this can indicate the cyclone and bin of the machine may be misaligned. To resolve this, press on the clear handle on the bin firmly to realign the bin with the cyclone. Once this is done, you should be able to remove the cyclone and bin (while assembled) from the machine like normal.
If we can assist further, our Dyson experts are only happy to help. Our contact details can be found here: external link

What year did they cease manufacturing the Dyson DC08?
The Dyson DC08 was superseded by the DC19 around mid 2007.
We hope this helps, however our Dyson Experts are available via auaskdyson@dyson.com and happy to help.
the head on the dyson08 radix vacuum has just stopped spinning any hints ta
A couple of things and I did a diagram, but see I can't attach here... This article covers what I was going to show you in my diagram. - external link Hope that sucks for ya. :D
Main things are hair around the spindles or the suction bypass being pushed in (not its technical name, but not sure what its technical name is)
Sorry to hear your turbine head isn't spinning. Your turbine head needs to be cleaned every 3 6 weeks. If it is not working as you would expect, try the checkpoints below: - Make sure the red or purple plunger disk at the side of the turbine head is pulled out - Has the filter in your machine been washed recently? The filter can affect the suction of machine by up to 60% - Slide each end of the plastic brush bar off of the turbine head. The left side of the brush bar pulls off to the left of the head, away from the black plastic piece in the middle, the right piece slides to the right. If they are stiff, give them a gentle wiggle, gentle pull and mind your fingers as you pull the brushbar out. Take note which side they come out from as they only go back on the side they were pulled off from. - Reassemble the turbine head making sure the grey soleplate of the turbine head is fitted securely - Make sure there are no blockages inside the hose, handle and extension tube of the machine - Make sure the machine has strong suction without the turbine head - Reassemble and test the machine
This should help, however if we can assist further our Dyson Experts are available via auaskdyson@dyson.com and happy to help.
Hi, where can I get a new hepa filher for my dc08 dyson model? Do the ones online (not genuine dyson) work just the same? Original hepa filter very dirty, becoming quite warm when in use and would like to replace.

external link have what you need. They have videos to help if you're not sure how to fit things too. I just replaced the motor, switch and filters on my DC08 that is at least 12 years old. It's a shame to dump something that is built so well. Don't be afraid to use non genuine parts if Dyson won't provide support.
You can buy them on eBay.
Hi there i am wanting to pull apart at older model dc08 head apart due to the hose being riped. Can u help
YouTube has videos on how to fully refurbish these units. Replace everything for 150-200aud and you still have a better unit than new other brands IMHO
Apologies for any disappointment, however if the hose in the head of your DC08 machine has split, the head as a whole would need to be replaced. That being said, due to the age of the DC08 range of machines, our supply of parts has exhausted. While parts aren't available, we do have an offer for DC08 owners. Please email your details and the serial number of your machine to auaskdyson@dyson.com and our Dyson Experts will only be happy to help.
We have a DC08-Hepa purchased in 2003 (Harvey Norman Australia) which is still going strong, except we recently broke the handle on the cyclone. So we purchased a second hand yellow DC08 standard model for $100 on gumtree which came a great carpet turbine head. So we now have 2 working DC08 Dysons. The only issue is the yellow DC08 standard has a really dirty post motor filter. I was wondering if it would affect the DC08 standard if I replaced the dirty filter with a spare Hepa post motor filter?
Hi there, Thank you for your query, we are happy to help. We are happy to confirm that if you swap the standard post motor filter with a HEPA post motor filter it won't cause any issues with the machine.
I hope this helps, however if we can assist further, please email auaskdyson@dyson.com and our Dyson Experts will be in touch and happy to help.
Best wishes,
Shan
Can you still purchase filters for this model?
I'm presuming you have tried Dyson direct to see if they have this as a spare part? If they don't, then you're only option would be to try either gumtree or fb marketplace to see if you can pick up a used one from a broken machine perhaps?? Good luck.
Hi Michelle, Thank you for your query. We do apologise for any disappointment, however we have exhausted our supply of parts for the DC08. That being said, at time of writing we do have an offer for existing DC08 owners. We would encourage you to email auaskdyson@dyson.com with your details and the serial number of your machine. Our Dyson Experts are happy to help.
Best wishes,
Shan

Hi Joe, Thank you for your query. You can find the user manual for your DC08T via this link: external link I hope this helps, however please feel free to reach out to our Dyson Experts via auaskdyson@dyson.com if we can assist further.

Hi. I have a radixcyclone DC08. What's the difference with head parts with DC08T?. Thank you
Hi Lizzy, Thank you for your query. As the wand on the DC08 and DC08T are slightly different, the connections are different as are the lugs on the back of the head to store it on the machine.
Please do note, in Australia the DC08 and DC08T have been retired, and we no longer have parts for this machine, however do have alternate offers.
I hope this helps, Should you wish to discuss this further, or need any more information, please email auaskdyson@dyson.com.
Best wishes,
Shan
Does the DC08 Alergy uses HEPA filter?
Hi Pang, Thanks for your question. The DC08 is one of our older retired machines, that we no longer service or supply parts for. Some of the DC08 machines came with a HEPA filter and some did not, as we did not release a DC08 Allergy the best way to tell, is to remove the clear bin and look through the hole in the post filter cover or remove the post filter cover. (The cover looks like this: external link
The HEPA machines had a Purple and white post filter with the word HEPA printed clearly on it, the machines without HEPA had a grey sponge filter.
If you have any further questions or need assistance please email us at auaskdyson@dyson.com and we will be happy to help.

Hi,
I have an old Dyson (purple and silver) and it has been stored for six years. Now need to use it again and the turbine head is useless on carpet.
I can run over the pilled carpet ten or twenty times and it still won’t pick up the wool or any pieces of rubbish.
Seems to have too little suction for the job.
Can you advise???

i've not heard of the one you are talking about but i have purchased 2 dysons & my daughter has also and we have both found that it doesn't take long for the suction to lessen. i don't believe i would buy another especially seeing that they are not the cheapest machines around. I live alone & only used my first one once a week and it blew up after just 3 years!!!
Clean both the intake and exhaust filters, should do the trick. :)
I need to know what the rectanglular tube is called inside of the head of the vacuum mine is split and want to find out what its called?
