Do not buy
We have had this product for 4 months, all was well but now the exclamation mark inside a triangle on the display and the machine doesn't work. Piece of junk.

Not Worth The Money
I got into air purifiers during the bushfire season and thought an air purifier with a heat/cooling component would be good. But it's got some weird glitches to it and Dyson service/help desk is not what it used to be. After about a week you get an irrelevant reply cut and pasted from the manual that you've read already and then an email asking you to rate their service. flame retardant chemical in there that is toxic. It triggers its own VOC (volatile organic particle) emission alert when it has been on for more than a few hours and my power bill is apparently the same as an eight-person household - when there are two of us. Nothing has changed except this heater. Given that my last perfectly rational question to Dyson was met with a late, mealy-mouthed and patronizing response, I'm not wasting time approaching them again - I think they've been bought out by another company - I used to love them and any of their products automatically went on my 'want' list.Purchased in November 2019 at Harvey Norman for A$498.00.

Love this, it's great for my bronchitis
I used to cough during winter season all the time and thought this purifier would great to filter out all the dust in the air. And it worked! I still cough every now and then but there's a significant difference between back then and now.
I have almost all Dyson product (vacuum cleaner, dryer and this) but this is by far their best invention.

Awesome machine over past 6 months
I originally bought this fan in December 2019 during the bushfires, it worked great initially and got rid of the smoke smell from my house. Note that it has average cooling abilities, because it's only a fan, not an AC. But I was generally happy with it until I began to use the heating function, when it started making a whirring noise to the point it would wake me up at night and i would have to turn it off.
I sent it to Dyson and they replaced it, the new one works perfectly. Heats the room very quickly, and it automatically turns on if you set it to, and you can also control via iPhone.
Overally pretty happy with it, but very expensive!! $899!

Love this product
This fan/purifier is fantastic. It is quiet & very easy to move around to different rooms. My stuffy nose is a lot less now in the mornings so that is a huge plus. I love the Night time setting and the timer, and the phone “app” as well.

Not 100% but still great
The fan and heating options are fantastic. It is very stable and well-made. It was very easy to set up and control via my phone using the Dyson App. The only thing I don't like is that the schedules within the app work to turn off the fan, but not to turn back on. It's a shame because other than that I think that it is well worth the money if you need an air purifier and heater.

Wasn’t for Us
We purchased this fan from Jb Hi Fi. It came highly recommended. When purchasing the fan we indicated that we wanted an extra heat source for an on-site caravan but more specifically to keep our kids room warm in the annexe. Unfortunately it really struggled to heat the room. It was used for 4 days and struggled to lift to room temperature I also didn’t notice any difference in the air quality. I was pretty disappointed considering the price and for the amount of money we spent we are better off getting a small split system installed. We have now returned this item.

Disappointing product
I waited several days for the purifier after ordering the product directly from Dyson over the phone. The phone order itself took 3 hours because the sales representation claimed the system was down. The purifier arrived, and as soon as I plugged it in and turned it on, there was a burning smell coming out of it and the purifier stopped working with a triangle sign and exclamation mark. I have wasted a lot of time so far on this product, and now I have to waste more time by taking it back to the post office to get it shipped back to Dyson and wait even longer to get my money back. Ordering directly from Dyson has been a big mistake, and it's better to buy products from the retailers for better service. It has been very disappointing that for such an expensive product, Dyson sent a faulty one and caused me great inconvenience.Purchased in May 2020 at Dyson.

Terrible airflow for a hugely expensive item
I eventually plucked up the courage to spend a crazy amount on the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool fan after the recent Bushfires.
I must say that I am REALLY disappointed with the product. It performs its core function of blowing air very poorly. Even on the top speeds of 8-10, the airflow is much worse than the $15 Target fan we were using before and which we have started using again. It does have excellent functions such as an app, air purifier, timer etc and is simple to use but I think that Dyson have focused too heavily on all the gimmicks and have forgotten about its core function, blowing air. Broken after one day
I’m really disappointed. Our machine is not working after being used for one day. When I turn the machine on after a few seconds it shows a triangle with exclamation mark. I have tried contacting Dyson to work out how to fix this and they have not yet responded.

A dust-free alternative to traditional fans
I'm the kind of person who, for many years, has found it impossible to sleep without the fan on at night time for two reasons: 1) I get excessively hot, and 2) I find the white noise of the fan very soothing. have suffered from allergies and hayfever all my life. The dust in the room doesn't help, clogs up my sinuses and often makes my eyes feel itchy, even when I've expended my best efforts to keep the fan less dusty; it's difficult because I use it so frequently. When the opportunity to review the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool arose, I was excited and intrigued. The design itself is appealing to me, different and interesting, and looks great in the setting of a modern home. I was particularly intrigued by the function of the fan itself (it is bladeless) and hopeful it would generate much less dust than my older fan. Unboxing and assembly was fairly simple, with clear instructions provided. Once set up, flipping between the modes was easy although I was only interested in one (cool, as I live in hot, sweaty, muggy Brisbane). I was pleasantly suprised by the strength of air generated by the unit. I use a high-velocity, metal-bladed floor fan and am used to having it on at full-force. The Dyson is just as satisfying and was able to cool my room down easily, and aid in getting me to sleep. It DOES generate noise, though no more than my other fan and I actually find the noise to be a plus, as I am comforted by the white noise while falling asleep. Since using the Dyson over the last few weeks, I have noticed far less dust in my room and on my belongings, particularly electronics in the bedroom. Certainly not the thick clumps of sticky dust that seem to attach themselves to my traditional fan. I find the device fairly easy to clean (I just run a slightly damp cloth over the exterior) and feel comforted by the knowledge that I'm no longer surrounded by, and inhaling, plumes of dust every night. I would reccomend this product if you need a fan but suffer from respiratory/health issues exacerbated by excess dust. There is absolutely far less dust in my room now which is wonderful not only for cleaning, but also because I know I'm no longer breathing it in or getting it in my eyes. Cons? The price. This is not an inexpensive item. It does the job for cooling (and I look forward to testing out the heating function more in the mild Brisbane winter) and absolutely does generate less dust than a traditional fan, so that makes it an appealing product for those in need of cleaner air during the night time.Similar opinion? Frankly, emailing Dyson support is an option, and I will use it in the future. However, I chose to use your phone support team because I wanted an answer quickly since I was short on time. It also helped me to review your support team which was the main purpose of the exercise. It's just a shame that they couldn't answer my question. I have never questioned their willingness to help. (I mentioned they were friendly), it's just that the one time I had a question, they failed. I'm sure the majority of support calls are successfully resolved... but mine was not one of them, and I had to add that to my review. Customers need to know these things, and I've done my best to preemptively solve the problem for others with my review. Now regarding your registration-free 2 year warranty period. If that is indeed, the case, there are numerous locations on the Dyson Australia site that clearly contradict that statement. After just 30 seconds of searching, I found two glaring ones: 1. I'd like to direct you to the Dyson Australia product registration page. On it, it clearly states: "Why register your machine?" The very first point states: "Protect your investment with your free no hassle warranty." The wording suggests that the warranty protection IS conditional on the registration process. Logically, there's little incentive to register, if users already have the warranty as you claim. 2. Enter the downloadable manual... The following passage is from page 4 of the HP04's downloadable manual on the Dyson Australia Site: "After registering your 2 year guarantee, your Dyson appliance will be covered for parts and labour (excluding filters) for 2 years from the date of purchase." AGAIN, the phrase "After registering... your Dyson appliance will be covered..." This is as clear a contradiction as you can get. You see, this is the kind of contradiction, and unclear communication I was trying to raise your awareness of, and help customers overcome. I fully expect Dyson to change the site either by a desire to fix these problems specifically.. or a process of updates to address changes in general. I sincerely hope my review will become out of date quickly if it means these issues are addressed. Dyson makes amazing products, but your web site's communication and marketing is... inefficient and frustrating to say the least. As an I.T. professional & web administrator, with a communication background I know how larger scale organizations often make a change, and the web team is often the last to know. I don't want to ridicule anyone. However, your site is the FIRST place people look, and they're going to be confused, or worse, misled by these sorts of contradicting issues. Naturally all electronic products sold in Australia are required to be covered by a compulsory one year warranty. So from what your company stated, it was a fair interpretation to say that registration was a process to extend the default 12 months to two years. Ultimately, my review of Dyson's warranty stands, because it is based on the information your company is still presenting to the general public. 2 years for a $900 appliance disappoints me, registration required or not. Ultimately I want to encourage manufacturers like Dyson to design long-life fully-recyclable products, partly as a demonstration of commitment to quality and customers alike, and to significantly reduce waste. I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to test out the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool HP04 as part of the product review ambassador program.
The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool arrived well packed in a large box. The packaging ensured it arrived without damage but there was not excess packaging. A great start.
The box was covered in helpful information & pictures.
Inside was the product, remote, manual, mini manual + warranty papers for 2 years cover.

Its a fancy fan
The good
- It has an unusual design. Most of my friends thought it looked good, some where neutral. I quite like it.
- The remote control attaches to the top of the fan magnetically. That is a nice touch and is very useful as the remote is (almost always) in a known spot.
- The amount of horizontal swing motion is adjustable and at its maximum can cover almost a full circle. There is also a limited vertical angle adjustment available.
- The filters are easy to install and hence also easy to change (see below for the costs)

Effective multi-use filter fan 'n heater which has proved invaluable in recent days with the bushfire smoke!
This Dyson fan unit doesn't disappoint. It is a reasonably effective fan, along with a comprehensive particulate, pollen and carbon filter to clear up odours. I have noticed a reduction in dust (I have powdery skin) and less sneezing.
In winter, it's an effective heater with a "climate control" thermostat and strong, directional heat output, good for throwing the heat across the room as required. Pure Air, Perfect Temperature - Jetsons Style
Dyson is renowned for its innovation, superior technology and design and its Pure Hot + Cool does not disappoint. have three salt crystal lamps, one of which coexists happily with the Dyson Pure in the same space.)The Dyson Pure does have some room for improvement, but let’s start with its impressive features. PROS - Heating. The heating function distinguishes the Dyson Pure from other air purifiers, which generally only feature a fan (cooling) as well as air purification. The Pure heats an average sized bedroom beautifully, and is great for chilly mornings/evenings in the bathroom (although its size may make it too big for some bathrooms, and it’s not actually a listed room for use on the Dyson app, which suggests that bathrooms aren’t the intended locations.) Talking about size, a 3-in-1 appliance is perfect for smaller homes and apartments. Note that airflow direction needs to be set to the front for heating to work, otherwise it switches to fan mode. - Design. Is stunning. And stylish. And space-age, making the Pure look like something straight out of “The Jetsons” or the redundant “Beyond 2000” show. Like the Dyson hair dryer, the Pure is bladeless as the clever people at Dyson HQ have wrapped the technology with an elliptical, air purifying, temperature soothing halo. This halo is the amplifier, and it sits on top of a stable cylinder base - the real brains of the machine - onto which carbon filters are attached inside, and a small round LCD screen on the crest displays live reports. The design of the Pure enables it to purify and heat the whole room evenly, not just the immediate area. What I truly love however, is the little curved remote control that magnetically attaches to the top of the amplifier. Small innovation, but genius. (Take note designers of televisions.) Again, the 3-in-1 design is an excellent practical feature of the Pure. Available in white/silver or black/nickel to suit most space-age homes. - Science & functionality. I’m not really a gadget person; my iPhone is a hand-me-down and my iPad is a gift. But if you love gadgets - or are obsessed with measuring air quality and its different particles and gases - the Dyson Pure is a must-have. The modes, accessible via remote control or the Dyson app are: On/Off, Airflow Speed, Auto mode, Oscillation, Sleep timer, Information menu (air quality reports), Heating control, Fan mode, Airflow direction and Night mode. Glass HEPA filter removes 99.95% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.1 microns, while the activated carbon filter traps gases. All this equals clean, lung-filling air. (My husband and I both had colds when we first received the Pure, and they cleared up quite quickly with the help of its clean air.)Purchased in December 2019.

Recent bush fire incidents have reduced the air quality where I live to potentially dangerous levels , the Dyson Pure Hot and Cool has been a literal Godsend to us , especially as one of our family is a severe Asthmatic .
Its arrival couldn't have been better timed as smoke permeates our home through every crack , window and doorway , despite us being vigilant the scent of fire is everywhere .

high levels of atmospheric particulates . The oscillation function and vertical tilt features ensure that the volume of air in the room is distributed cleanly and evenly . The readout window gives a real time indication of air quality which is very reassuring in our volatile and rapidly changing weather . I am amazed at how sensitive this unit is , it registered immediate reactions to nail polish remover [ VOCs ] and particulates from a small air brush paint project , gave an indication of just how strong the concentrations were and a progress report of the filtering process and increasing quality of the surrounding air , simply marvelous ! I ran tests on the filtering efficiency using different household products and releasing small measured amounts over a strict set period . In each circumstance I found that the filtering system was able to sense fumes , vapours and particulates within a few moments of operation and restore air quality within ten to fifteen minutes at higher fan speeds . The heat function is very effective and more than enough for a large double bedroom or lounge . Considering most houses have reduced ventilation during the Winter months , the filtration system of the Dyson Pure is bound to improve general air quality in any home .Purchased in December 2019.

Excellent 3-in- one heater, fan, air purifier that looks great and does what it should
I received this product as part of Product Reviews Ambassador program however my review as with all my other reviews are my unbiased views based on my personal experience with the product after several weeks of use.
There isn't a lot to say about this device because it actually does everything is says on the box, and it does it very well in my opinion.

I'm wondering why I don't see any read out of air quality etc on any screen. It's mentioned in the booklet I got and in these reviews.... but the black square next to the on button never has any info. Its like theres a sticker on it or something. I sure would like to know pollen levels etc or even when the filter needs changing. I read in a review that if you push the on button it turns on, but if you push and hold the on button for a few seconds it activates the read-out screen. But that didn't work either. I don't have a smart phone so I cant use any "app" to check things... but it appears from the info the read-out screen should automatically work?
