Awesome machine over past 6 months
I originally bought this fan in December 2019 during the bushfires, it worked great initially and got rid of the smoke smell from my house. Note that it has average cooling abilities, because it's only a fan, not an AC. But I was generally happy with it until I began to use the heating function, when it started making a whirring noise to the point it would wake me up at night and i would have to turn it off.
I sent it to Dyson and they replaced it, the new one works perfectly. Heats the room very quickly, and it automatically turns on if you set it to, and you can also control via iPhone.
Overally pretty happy with it, but very expensive!! $899!
Purchased in December 2019 for A$899.00.

Not 100% but still great
The fan and heating options are fantastic. It is very stable and well-made. It was very easy to set up and control via my phone using the Dyson App. The only thing I don't like is that the schedules within the app work to turn off the fan, but not to turn back on. It's a shame because other than that I think that it is well worth the money if you need an air purifier and heater.
Purchased in February 2019 at JB Hi-Fi for A$799.00.

Impressive product
Really happy with my Dyson purchase. It looks great and does the job much better than any other heater I've had. I'd certainly recommend this product even though they're not cheap.

Perfect for Heating small rooms and purification
Really satisfied with the dyson, it looks and works real good. The heating of a small room is pretty quick and the fan speed is good too. The dyson link app is fantastic.

Good product but with a caution with reliability
We got these at the height of bushfire in Victoria, unfortunately there were major backlog, meaning we only got these in early February. We tested the product in the kitchen, yes it does purify the air quickly as advertised. We were able to control the product over the Internet which is a neat feature. The filter has a long life compared to others in the market. The product was good, so we recommend our family getting one. They waited as long getting one given the backlog, and when it arrived the product was a Dead on Arrival (DOA.) They went t...Read more
o Dyson and they were very helpful in exchanging for a new one, although they had to wait again. Once arrived the second one worked as advertised. The other complain is, as with most Dyson products, the price. But as I said, you are paying for their cutting edge engineering and design... there's a reason why their products are very sought after all over the world!Purchased in January 2020.

An excellent air purifier & fan/heater that makes a difference. However high price, & questionable support are concerns.
DYSON "PURE HOT+COOL" (MODEL HP04) REVIEW:
Please note that this is a rather in-depth review, and as such, please make yourself comfortable, get yourself a beverage and a snack, and take the time to process this information. I’ve tried to give you as much information as possible, and even go into “Navigating and translating the Dyson Australia website” because a great deal of information about the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool isn’t always in logical locations, or clearly conveyed. Frankly, emailing Dyson support is an option, and I will use it in the future. However, I chose to use your phone support team because I wanted an answer quickly since I was short on time. It also helped me to review your support team which was the main purpose of the exercise. It's just a shame that they couldn't answer my question. I have never questioned their willingness to help. (I mentioned they were friendly), it's just that the one time I had a question, they failed. I'm sure the majority of support calls are successfully resolved... but mine was not one of them, and I had to add that to my review. Customers need to know these things, and I've done my best to preemptively solve the problem for others with my review. Now regarding your registration-free 2 year warranty period. If that is indeed, the case, there are numerous locations on the Dyson Australia site that clearly contradict that statement. After just 30 seconds of searching, I found two glaring ones: 1. I'd like to direct you to the Dyson Australia product registration page. On it, it clearly states: "Why register your machine?" The very first point states: "Protect your investment with your free no hassle warranty." The wording suggests that the warranty protection IS conditional on the registration process. Logically, there's little incentive to register, if users already have the warranty as you claim. 2. Enter the downloadable manual... The following passage is from page 4 of the HP04's downloadable manual on the Dyson Australia Site: "After registering your 2 year guarantee, your Dyson appliance will be covered for parts and labour (excluding filters) for 2 years from the date of purchase." AGAIN, the phrase "After registering... your Dyson appliance will be covered..." This is as clear a contradiction as you can get. You see, this is the kind of contradiction, and unclear communication I was trying to raise your awareness of, and help customers overcome. I fully expect Dyson to change the site either by a desire to fix these problems specifically.. or a process of updates to address changes in general. I sincerely hope my review will become out of date quickly if it means these issues are addressed. Dyson makes amazing products, but your web site's communication and marketing is... inefficient and frustrating to say the least. As an I.T. professional & web administrator, with a communication background I know how larger scale organizations often make a change, and the web team is often the last to know. I don't want to ridicule anyone. However, your site is the FIRST place people look, and they're going to be confused, or worse, misled by these sorts of contradicting issues. Naturally all electronic products sold in Australia are required to be covered by a compulsory one year warranty. So from what your company stated, it was a fair interpretation to say that registration was a process to extend the default 12 months to two years. Ultimately, my review of Dyson's warranty stands, because it is based on the information your company is still presenting to the general public. 2 years for a $900 appliance disappoints me, registration required or not. Ultimately I want to encourage manufacturers like Dyson to design long-life fully-recyclable products, partly as a demonstration of commitment to quality and customers alike, and to significantly reduce waste. So I choose to have higher expectations and buy accordingly when I can. I hope this helps, HARMOSimilar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Dyson Pure Hot+Cool HP04
I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to test out the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool HP04 as part of the product review ambassador program.
The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool arrived well packed in a large box. The packaging ensured it arrived without damage but there was not excess packaging. A great start.
The box was covered in helpful information & pictures.
Inside was the product, remote, manual, mini manual + warranty papers for 2 years cover.
The filters were separate & needed to be installed into the unit. This was a simple ...Read more
process of removing them from their packaging & they simply clipped onto the base of the machine with the grills over the top. The unit even has a display to show when the filters need attention. The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool HP04 is a very sleek stylish product mine is white & silver (I did have a colour choice). It appears to be well built - no sharp edges or any manufacturing issues visible = a fabulous high quality product.Purchased in December 2019.

4.5 stars, Excellent design, and one question mark.
Bought Jan 2020, Good Guys, East Chatswood, $890.
( It is hard to get a discount on an air purifier as most of Australia burns around you.)
It sits in my Sydney living room swivelling away in Auto mode.
The cat is dubious, the dog thinks we've bought another big puppy that keeps swivelling its head and looking at her. My wife has nicknamed it R2D2 after the Starwars robot.
Pros:
1 i was very sceptical about its usefulness as a filter machine, but in conjunction with the reverse cycle aircon, it is fantastic. We can keep the aircon on 25 deg...Read more

Pure Air, Perfect Temperature - Jetsons Style
Dyson is renowned for its innovation, superior technology and design and its Pure Hot + Cool does not disappoint. It’s a visually impressive device - bigger than expected (I thought I would receive a small desk/personal air purifier; this was a pleasant surprise). It does what it’s supposed to do - purify air and heat or cool a room - and thanks to the clever Dyson app, it does it with measurable, accessible science for those who relegate salt crystal lamps and their hygroscopic air-cleaning abilities to the realm of hippy hocus pocus. (FYI, I ...Read more
have three salt crystal lamps, one of which coexists happily with the Dyson Pure in the same space.)The Dyson Pure does have some room for improvement, but let’s start with its impressive features. PROS - Heating. The heating function distinguishes the Dyson Pure from other air purifiers, which generally only feature a fan (cooling) as well as air purification. The Pure heats an average sized bedroom beautifully, and is great for chilly mornings/evenings in the bathroom (although its size may make it too big for some bathrooms, and it’s not actually a listed room for use on the Dyson app, which suggests that bathrooms aren’t the intended locations.) Talking about size, a 3-in-1 appliance is perfect for smaller homes and apartments. Note that airflow direction needs to be set to the front for heating to work, otherwise it switches to fan mode. - Design. Is stunning. And stylish. And space-age, making the Pure look like something straight out of “The Jetsons” or the redundant “Beyond 2000” show. Like the Dyson hair dryer, the Pure is bladeless as the clever people at Dyson HQ have wrapped the technology with an elliptical, air purifying, temperature soothing halo. This halo is the amplifier, and it sits on top of a stable cylinder base - the real brains of the machine - onto which carbon filters are attached inside, and a small round LCD screen on the crest displays live reports. The design of the Pure enables it to purify and heat the whole room evenly, not just the immediate area. What I truly love however, is the little curved remote control that magnetically attaches to the top of the amplifier. Small innovation, but genius. (Take note designers of televisions.) Again, the 3-in-1 design is an excellent practical feature of the Pure. Available in white/silver or black/nickel to suit most space-age homes. - Science & functionality. I’m not really a gadget person; my iPhone is a hand-me-down and my iPad is a gift. But if you love gadgets - or are obsessed with measuring air quality and its different particles and gases - the Dyson Pure is a must-have. The modes, accessible via remote control or the Dyson app are: On/Off, Airflow Speed, Auto mode, Oscillation, Sleep timer, Information menu (air quality reports), Heating control, Fan mode, Airflow direction and Night mode. Glass HEPA filter removes 99.95% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.1 microns, while the activated carbon filter traps gases. All this equals clean, lung-filling air. (My husband and I both had colds when we first received the Pure, and they cleared up quite quickly with the help of its clean air.)Purchased in December 2019.

As a purifier 100%, as a fan 75%
I was sent this Dyson as part of the ambassador program that is in place with product review.
I was excited to actually give this a go and see how it works as a heater as I get cold easily now, little did I know that k was in for so much more.
We gave had very smokey conditions in Adelaide and this purifier is amazing. It has picked up little contaminants in the air when we have opened the door so go in or out of the house it literally is that sensitive that it can pick up the smallest little things I can put perfume on in my room and withi...Read more
n 5 seconds the unit is coming up with a warning and starts filtering and that their fan speed increases to try and filter any contaminants out of the air which really impressed me. The other thing I will say with this unit as as a heater it is actually quite a good unit heaps of room quickly and efficiently and it is so much better than any other fan-based electric heater you can get that's not refrigerated or gas based. The filters are quite thick and there are 2 different types and they seem to do a good job.Purchased in December 2019.

WOW
This product has impressed me
Its a Strong & durable design, very sturdy and safe yet easy to move around!
Extremely simple to wipe down (if needed)
I use it everyday!
Fan speeds are great as it works on a few modes, if you want it silent just pop it on night mode as you turn the fan up from a 1-10 it does get louder but it isnt an annoying noise. And the fan is quite powerful, I feel it from a few meters away...Read more
We are struggling with ash and smoke due to the bush fires in NSW I put it on and that night, the cough i had developed from the smoke had stopped and not returned! My daughter suffers from asthma and i put it in her room for a few nights and no wheezing or coughing! Not sure if it was going to settle on its own or if it was the fan but its worth mentioning! Also worked in my sons room, his normal ceiling fan was on high and it was so humid! The fan was just throwing around hot air, so I left the ceiling fan on but also put the Dyson in the doorway! The room then cooled, felt less humid and was enjoyable to be in that room! The Dyson hot+cold air purifier has many features and perks, it does purify the air as it says it does and also does a great job at detecting any pollutants, dust molecules, pollens in the air and resolving it quickly ETC Everything you need to know is on the screen and you can swap through the different information with the remote control or the Dyson APP, you can also control the Purifier with the app = COOL features I'v loved is Magnetic spot for remote to sit neatly on top of the machine thermometer humidity percentage Swing mode Different fan speeds Night mode And much more The filters only need to be changed once a year based on a 12 hour per day running cycle Please do not expect it to be an air conditioner, its not but it will work better than your normal pedestal or ceiling fan. I havent yet needed the hot function but turning it on briefly it feels as though it will really work well in winter. My son has allergies to cats so i look forward to trying this at my inlaws house while we visit and hope to update on the outcome of that. I have attached a short video of the fan noise and a quick scroll through the display details. no voice just sound. if you would like anymore information, please message me and ill be happy to help where possible.Purchased in December 2019.

Cool, cosy and clear
I received this product as part of the Product Review Ambassador program, just in time to give it a good workout during the December heatwave. It is one of the few, if not the only product on the market that does 3 things in the one appliance: heat, cool and purify the air. Lets be clear though, it is not an air conditioner, the cooling function circulates the air, and the heating function circulates warm air like a fan heater, but with the added advantage that it is temperature controlled, so will switch to pause mode when the temperature is r...Read more
eached. Having said that, it does what it purports to do well. Like all Dyson appliances the design is sleek and unique and well put together. It comes with a 2 year warranty and you can download the Dyson Link app from either the Apple or google play stores. This enables you to control the unit via wifi and remotely, a real boon for those who might want to warm up a room before arriving home. Its also great for those who are disabled as you can control the unit from your chair using either the app or the remote. The remote fits neatly on the top of the unit, just another example of the excellent design features of Dyson products. It also has the battery in a sealed compartment which requires a screwdriver to remove, so great for families with small children as they can't get to the battery. The actual unit has a 2 stage filter fitted around the bottom which draws in air all around for purifying before releasing it through the amplifier loop at the top in either heat or cool mode. The 2 filters (activated carbon and hepa) are purported to remove 99.97% of pollutants including odors as well as particles as small as 0.3 microns. For those living in smoky or dusty conditions or with allergies this is a real boon, but beware, the carbon filter requires changing every year or after 4300 hours, and they are not cheap to replace. Really, in this day and age they should be washable at least a few times and then replaced. Given the design of the filters, I imagine that you will have to replace them with Dyson originals rather than generic ones. The app or remote will let you know when replacement is needed. The unit itself is quite bulky (almost 6 kg), so for those with a disability, it may not be easy to move around. As the manual specifically instructs you not to lift the unit by the amplifier loop, it could be problematic for the elderly or those with a physical disability. It really requires a carrying handle to enable easy lifting and positioning. The electrical cord is also quite short (and again the manual warns about using an extension cord) and is not retractable 2 areas where the product could be improved! Nevertheless because of its weight it is quite stable and though my dog bumped against it a couple of times, she didnt manage to knock it over. The app and remote have a myriad of functions to control temperature, airspeed, oscillation air quality, direction, heating, cooling, night mode and timer. I doubt that anyone would use all the functions but once set, or in auto mode the unit pretty much takes care of itself and all you need to do is turn it on and off. A small LED display on the front of the unit, as well as the app, show the settings when the information mode is selected, and will include details for air quality, humidity, heat settings, etc. The unit has a brief manual which contains everything need to set up and use the unit, but I'm puzzled as to why information menu details are contained in a separate fold-up - why not include it at the back of the manual? Far too easy for this to get lost.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Very good multi-purpose fan for allergy sufferers and etc., if rather expensive
We recently took delivery of a Dyson HP04 Pure Hot+Cool purifying fan heater from Dyson and productreview.com.au.
My first impression was "Whoa, that's a big box!". At almost one metre long, this box contained no little desktop fan, this is a serious piece of kit. Once unpacked, the unit stood a full 77cm high and almost 25cm in diameter. Before use there was some very limited and simple assembly required - unbagging and inserting the two carbon and two HEPA filters into the main body. The unit comes with a small remote control which is sto...Read more
red on the top by magnet, in keeping with other Dyson's room fans. To be honest this is the first room heater I've owned which actually required me to read the manual before using it (well, some of it anyway!) - and, yes, it does come with an actual printed manual, rather than the typical multilingual, quick-start piece of origami so many products ship with these days. There is a single on/off button on top of the lower cylinder just above a small, circular, colour display which can cycle through and display a variety of information by pressing the information button on the remove control. The front-to-rear tilt angle of the unit can be manually adjusted by about 7 degrees in keeping with our other Dyson room fans. Turning the unit on starts the fan, the display illuminates and shows the current room temperature and (smaller) the fan speed - for all other functions the remote control (or app) is necessary - see below. After setting up the unit and switching it on, the next thing I did was to download the Android Dyson Link app (presumably there is an iOS equivalent for Apple users) - this provides the owner with finer and more advanced control over the unit than the included remote control provides; not essential but beneficial. Starting the app required Bluetooth to be enabled with WiFi shortly after - by providing it with Wi-Fi credentials the app completed its pairing with the fan. It then required me to assign the fan to a room for identification purposes, presuming that we have more than one linked item in the house. Once the app was paired with the fan I provided it with the geographic location of the device so it could provide local outdoor air quality data - again not mandatory but enhances the overall app and device experience. I also enabled the app to display notifications for filter life and diagnostics. Much to my surprise, one of the first messages I received from the app was to advise that the firmware in the fan had been updated - I have come to expect firmware updates on my phone and computer, but on a fan heater?!? Now that's one for the books!Purchased in November 2019 at productreview.com.au.

When your machine is in auto mode, the fan speed will be shown as dimmed when the machine is monitoring the room, and will be more prominent when actively purifying the air.

Hi,
Just wondering to use the appropiate term Fan vs Cooling based on the performance in hot summer. Does it really cool the room though its not a Air Conditioner?

DysonDyson
To confirm, the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool can function as a heater, however doesn't function as an air conditioner as it doesn't work on refrigerants or the like. The "cool" refers to it's ability to function as a fan to cool you in summer using the wind chill effect.

Thanks for the clarification. Make sense of using term Cool
