Ruined my hair - seems to affect certain hair types
I was bought this for valentines by my husband and was really excited about it. However, performance wise, it was ok, but no better than my parlux hairdryer that I already had. When I saw my hairdresser about six weeks after first using it, she asked if I had bought a dyson as she had two other clients who had badly singed ends and they had recently bought dysons. I have read so many reviews, mostly positive, and it would seem that the people who leave negative reviews have the same hair type as me. I am Caucasian with coarse, strong, sligh...tly frizzy hair. My hair is amazingly resilient and withstands being blow dried, straightened and highlighted whilst remaining in good condition- in fact, I only get it trimmed about 3 times a year. 3 months of the dyson has left me with the bottom 2 inches feeling like straw, split and no amount of conditioning masks seems to help very much. Dyson were helpful and said that if I had bought it direct from their website they would have refunded. However, I have bought it from a retailer. Luckily, they refunded the full amount when we shared our experience. It seems like for most people it is amazing and makes their hair shiny but if you have a certain type of hair, like mine, do some research and possibly borrow one from a friend before investing in one. I replaced it with another parlux which is amazing.
Hate it. Hair dry and frizzy. Dyson would not refund!
My husband bought the Dyson hair dryer for Mother's Day. I was so excited to receive as I have two Dyson products and loved them. After using the Dyson My hair goes dry, frizzy and unmanageable. I have used different settings to no avail. It does not finish my hair like my previous hair dryer in which I hardly had to use a straightener over the top. Absolutely awful and felt like straw even when I used a straightener over the top.
To make it worse, Dyson one of the most reputable companies in the world hung up on me when I asked for a refun...d. I explained what it did to my hair and they told me "It was personal choice" if the product was good or not good for me. They went on to say that basically it was bad luck if I did not like the product and they will not refund. I had called them and the recording said waiting time was 11 min which turned into 57 min before they answered. I spoke to one lady who then put me on to her supervisor. She would not budge on giving me a refund. Said there's is nothing she could do. They are Dyson for gods sake!! They can do anything. In the end the supervisor said she was going to terminate the call as there are other customers she needs to take care of. I told her not to hang up but she did. She told me "maybe your husband should take it back". Very rude and I could not believe how unprofessional she was. You would think Dyson would try to keep a customer happy and also knowing I have bought 2 previous vacuums try to help me out. The supervisor kept telling me to take it up with the seller. I don't have a problem with the seller, its the product. The seller will not take it back as it has been used twice and cannot resell. I am so disappointed not only with the product but the customer received from Dyson. I am still in shock she hung up on me!
Over priced and over rated!
After 1 week of use it flopped out /over heated which lead to three red lights flashing at the back I think i have been unlucky from the start customer services is an absolutely joke! Happy to service a week old machine but refuse to refund very unhappy with boith Myer and Dysons customer service
