I love it, even if it cost an arm and a leg
I have the most unmanageable hair on earth, i dye it regularly because I started going grey at only 19 years of age so you can imagine how damaged my hair is, it’s also thick and slightly wavy, meanwhile I LOVE the sleek smooth look of straight hair and used to spend hours with blow drying, straightening and various hair serums, all this time and money spent was what convinced me to try the dyson after reading such good reviews.
Even still, I was skeptical that it would be at all helpful for hair as terrible as mine. I have so many fly aways ...because my hair breaks so easily so even after all my previous efforts, I’d often end up with millions of those short broken hairs popping up all over half way through the day, but not anymore. This blow dryer has almost become all I need, occasionally I’ll have a particularly bad hair day and need to utilise a few extra tools but this baby does the job 95% of the time and I am so relieved to finally find something that actually helps.

The Dyson hairdryer is the answer to fine hair as it gives wonderful body and helps prevent broken ends as the temperature can be adjusted so easily. The only negative to this piece of machinery is the on and off switch which is a bit dodgy and waiting for it to breakdown completely

Great hairdryer but doesn't last!
Hubby got this for me when it was relatively new in the market back in 2016 as a Xmas gift. He paid $650 no case or gift just the hairdryer and attachments. 4yrs and 7mths later it's caput. Started with the motor making a high pitch whizzing sound whilst in use and then just died. I pulled it out from power point direct on wall and plugged back in. Nothing. The lights lit up but not working. Left it a day and tried again and it was dead. Called Dyson and was sent a return postage to send back the hairdryer for fixing. The cost to fix is from $8...5 to $399 I was told by the rep. They have a current offer of 20% off new one RRP $549 so roughly $439 but was told only till end of July 2021. I like that it's free shipping for repairs and it works well when it works. But, super disappointed that it doesn't last long for the price you pay even with keeping it well like cleaning filters often and keeping it in vanity cupboard. I've had appliances same price last over 10yrs. Even my old trusted hair dryer I use for travel is still alive and it was $60. My old hair straightener good old Cloud 9 was purchased for $300+ is still going 12yrs later. So for this product, for its price point I was/would expect more. A limited 20% discount for a new one is not that appealing too. Maybe time to shop around for a new brand hairdryer. Dyson better start making quality hair products else they'll just lose customers. Update 30.07.21 I received a brand new Dyson Supersonic hairdryer which I was not expecting! I also was not charged any fees. Because of this I bumped them from original 3 star to 4. That's pretty good customer service.

Really impressive hairdryer
I was given this hairdryer as a gift at Christmas, and whilst i originally felt like it was all marketing spin, the Dyson hairdryer has converted me. Apart from it's beautiful design, it has a lot of flexibility in settings and i've found its far more gentle on my hair compared to my traditional style hairdryer. Im a convert!

Not bad for straight hair.
After only using cheap hairdryers that would burn and pull my hair into the filter this was a nice change.
I’ve now owned my hair dryer for 2 years with no issues.
Given I have long hair being able to flip my hair upside down and move the hairdryer into the middle of my hair to dry quicker has helped.
I find my hair not to be as brittle or dry after using this.
Haven’t really needed to use a lot of the attachments give my hair being dead straight.
Given I also now own the Dyson Airwrap as of a week ago I would have been happy with just this product given it also has a hairdryer attachment instead of also owning the hairdryer.

Wished they make them dual voltage considering the price
So devastated that I will have to give, well basically throw away my Dyson as I am moving abroad with my job and no longer can use it there as their voltages are lower than the one in the UK. Wished that for that price Dyson would at least thought about that since it's an expensive and innovative product!

I expecting more
It's not heavy, but I was expecting it to be lighter, it's not that loud, which is good, it's nice in shape but nothing special if compared to conventional dryers.

The product when it works is very good, but has its flaws
I have had 3 Dyson hairdryers in total, the 2nd and 3rd were replacements for faulty ones. The first one was replaced within one month of the guarantee expiring ( I really think for the price the guarantee should be longer, perhaps 5 years to protect the customer) The hairdryer was cutting out after approximately a minute ( overheating sensor) I read online that if I switch off, leave for a minute it would start again which it did, but I feel for the money I paid for it, I really should not have to be doing this! I have to say that customer ser...vices are very good and no quibble about a replacement. The second hairdryer , the filter cover eventually cracked and broke ( a very flimsy design and if you hold the hairdryer near here it puts pressure on it). The third hairdryer I have just had for 3years ( now out of guarantee) is starting to overheat after a short period like the first one. Do I think it is worth paying 250.00 for a hairdryer which is unlikely to last beyond 3 years? The answer is no! All my previous hairdryers of other makes have lasted longer than this. I would however say the hairdryer is lovely to use, lightweight and efficient, but they really need to work on these design 'flaws'. Amanda

Keeps cutting out
Bought my Dyson hairdryer in Nov 2018, all good until a few months ago when it started cutting out on a regular basis (read everyday). Not sure what to do as just out of warranty. Has been well looked after and filter cleaned daily. Not what I would expect from such an expensive dryer and reputable company.

Excellent Product let down by flimsy 3 pin plug
I really like my new Dyson Hair Dryer, best have ever had but for such an expensive Dryer why do you fit such a flimsy 3 pin plug that bends easily with a simple knock.

Good while it works, the cable is a weakness
Almost 1 year old the cord broke internally and so stopped working. I decided to dismantle (voiding the warranty) to understand how such a simple fault could occur. After you carefully "break off" the switch caps dismantling is easy. The cable design is flawed due to the poor choice of both type and gauge, and will fail unless you are always careful with cable twisting and storage. Due to the moulded cable relief/barrier it is impossible to repair and replacement parts are not available to purchase.

Its pretty good
Its nice and light so you dont get a sore hand or arm while blowdrying, it is a bit expensive though for what it is. The magnetic nozzle is alot easier to handle , i dont have a stand for it though it would be good if they sold the stands separately so I could buy one for my bathroom. I bought mine 3 years ago and its still going well

Great while it works
$600 hairdryer (way overpriced) and stopped working 2.5 years. Wife back to using old salon dryer that’s been going 7 years. Don’t buy ...not worth it. Dyson should improve quality if they want premium price. At $600 should expect multi years use- will be lodging complaint with ACCC and against Dyson and/or Myer for statutory consumer use rights. Expensive small appliance should last 4-5 years minimum under Aust law

Great hairdryer but!!!
Worked great for 2 years and then suddenly started to stop start, i regularly cleaned the filter, stored in a safe place and never wrapped the electrical cord.
The repair place have had it for 2 weeks, advised that it needed a new electrical cord and clean at a cost of $90. Still have not got it back waiting on them to return my call.

light weight but not more powerful than my parlux
I am a little disappointed after my husband spent $600 on this hairdryer as a surprise gift for me. I have a Parlux hairdryer I've been using for around 8 years and when I compare them they are identical with heat, power without the attachments. One thing that I have noticed with the Dyson is the force/pressure of the air blow reduces with the attachments connected which I haven't experienced with the Parlux, the concentrator makes it stronger whereas the concentrator makes it weaker with the Dyson. The only Pro of the Dyson in my opinion is the light weight which makes it easier for my 9 year old daughter to dry her own hair.
