Overpriced and poor quality
Had the V11 Outsize Pro for just under a year and now that it's broken for the second time thought i'd write a review. Completely overpriced and sub-par performance. My V6 was a better vacuum, notwithstanding the battery. Battery on this thing is great. Biggest issue, apart from it breaking twice in 12 months is that it doesn't vacuum well at all backwards with the outsize head and the other heads are standard size, defeating the entire purpose of it being outsize. This is our second Dyson. The first broke 3 times in 18 months and this one has ...now broken twice in 11 months. First time the outsize head broke, and now the pipe connection has broken. So no vacuum for 2 weeks the first time and now another wait for parts. Not good enough for a $1250 vacuum

No good for arthritis sufferers
I’ve had many Dyson products and for the most part, they’re pretty good if not expensive. One thing that’s always been a problem for me is the trigger action of their stick vacuum cleaners. Not bad for a quick cleanup but a 30-40 min session is a challenge for someone with arthritis and carpal tunnel. I bought the outsize mainly because the head is wider, covering more floor space at once. However, it’s heavy. Really heavy. Combined with the strain of maintaining the trigger, I end up in a lot of pain. Look, I know you can’t be all things to...everyone but Dyson you pride yourself on design and arthritis is a very common ailment. If you could incorporate some sort of mechanism (like a garden hose attachment) which enables the vacuum to run without holding the trigger, would make life a lot easier for people like me and I can continue to use your products.

A Weapon- Phenomenal!
Upgraded from the V10 to the V11. The V11 has somehow managed to pull out a canister worth of dust/dirt from carpets that were just completed with the V10 earlier that day! The suction is something else. The battery life is 10/10. Yes it is larger than a V10 but we do our home in half the time now because of the bigger footprint. Its a tad heavier but nothing to write about. I wouldn't go back to a V10 now.. massive upgrade.
Upgraded but Disappointed
I upgraded from a V6 that we have loved.
Pros : Vacuum time - barrel cleaning - attachments - Auto floors - AI on battery and usage times - quieter
Cons : really heavy that it hurts vacuuming on plush carpet on Auto - heads too wide for practical daily use - no mattress attachment as standard - bulkier storage
AND it has made me invest $50
on attachments for the V6
This is a lot of money and it is really disappointing as I have loved our Dyson V6 and our old Handheld. I am really concerned this will end up in the cupboard like our barrel vacuum and wish we got the V10 that was way cheaper but more practical

Suction is amazing! However comes at a cost
I’ve recently purchased the Dyson V11 Outsize, and have been very impressed by its power, suction and other features.
However one thing that pains me (quiet literally) is the weight of the stick. After a one time use in our 3 bedroom home (couldn’t even manage to do the living room and kitchen due to the weight), I was left with extreme back pain.
I find the weight distribution to be uneven, and that it’s very heavy. Adding to that is the immense pressure pushing against our plush carpet with such a heavy stick. It’s tiring and painful.
I’...ve paid the price I have for this machine for ease of use and accessibility, but I’m now in so much pain after vacuuming the night prior that I’m worried I will develop back problems over a period of use. I’m now questioning my purchase, and have emailed Dyson with the hopes of a solution.

One of the best investments I have made
We have a 50sq house with a 30/70 hard floor/carpet. Love this vac, it is the only one we use daily. Great cannister capacity and good life on the battery. The carpet head does an excellent job, very impressed

Given me injury
I vacuum every day as I have cats, dogs and kids. Does a good job and has a good battery life but you have to maintain a grip on the trigger to keep it down. This gripping in conjunction with the machine being very heavy and the repetitive back and forth action has caused me to have tennis elbow. The extra large bin is unnecessary as the battery runs out before it’s even 1/2 full. I wish I would have just got the regular V11, not the outsize and I think Dyson should change the trigger so you don’t have to keep it pressed down. I now only use it for quick jobs and have gone back to the Miele corded vac for big jobs over 5 mins.

Fabulous vacuum but hard to handle
Very strong suction perfect for all types of flooring and carpets. Top heavy, wish the switch was lockable, painful holding it down while using. Not ideal for anyone with arthritis.

- V11 Outsize
Dyson v11 outsize is awesome as it’s bigger and better than my previous v7 the head is bigger and wider which picks up more and the capacity in the dirt canister is huge which means we don’t have to empty it as often. So overall good product but a little heavy on the hand.

WOW just WOW
What's lurking in YOUR carpets?! This is from a 14min 54sec vacuum of a small 4x2 house (mine) tonight, with the Dyson V11 Outsize Cordless Stick Vacuum. My house of boys and cats is vacuumed at LEAST once per day with a Dyson V7 Animal Stick, and once every weekend with "Henry", a corded vacuum cleaner that comes with me on cleaning jobs. Absolutely horrified at what my daily vacuuming has NOT been pulling out of the carpets!

Expensive, so far good
I have never been a fan of Dyson products. But after seeing some adds on tv I got thinking, I'll do some research and found it interesting and positive. I took the plunge and shelled out the $1299. Well packed good amount of attachments. One big disappointment is that it came with one battery, the videos I watched on YouTube from U.S.A come with two batteries. I notified Dyson Service Australia why we in Australia get only one battery? I have had no contact from Dyson, its now been 0ne month and I still have not received any correspondence from...Dyson, that's not good. Anyhow the outsize is surprisingly good. If I need to use it on boost I get only 8 minutes use out of the battery, two batteries would be handy, Dyson! Using the outsize on medium I should get 30 minutes use?. Overall I'm happy but I have concerns, the warranty is 2 years repair warranty at $1299 warranty should be a replacement and or 5 years warranty. Secondly how long is this thing going to last before it starts to break down? I had a Bissell 25v and had trouble with the foot assembly, Bissell sent me a new one free of charge 2 years after the warranty, fantastic! Time will tell.. There is one big concern, what happens if or when this vacuum goes out for repair,??? We don't have another vacuum cleaner..!!!

Poor build quality
Our Dyson v11 outsize is a pleasure to vacuum with and works extremely well. The main concern is the poor build quality of the product. Straight out of the box and whilst we are using it the battery falls out. You may think oh well didn't put it in properly until it keeps happening. Then we put up the wall mount and hang the vacuum only to notice a 5mm gap between the battery and handle, emphasized more because of the sheer weight of the product. Contact Dyson to be told this is unusual, you need to send it in to be checked and there lies the r...eal problem. 3-5 business days to wait for a label, minimum 2-3 weeks once with the technician and then return time. Now that amount time in my household without a vacuum is going to cause some real issues with dust, dirt etc on carpets. A poor turn around from a customer service point of view which sours the whole joy of a new product that works well

Perfect! Best vacuum ever!
I just purchased this vacuum and I LOVE it! I haven’t vacuumed so much in my life- out of sheer joy to see how much it picks up! I could not be more impressed and I strongly disagree with most of the unfavourable comments made in the article! My rugs and carpet piles look and stand like new- and there is not one particle left in my hard floors. Looking forward to testing it on the lounge when our new puppy arrives.

This is my first Dyson product and I am excited to review it, having used it now for a month.
Prior to the V11 Dyson Outsize I had corded upright and barrel cleaners.
It is a four bedroom home with five occupants and a dog. There are four different types of flooring; ceramic tile, black sculptured carpet, rugs, and laminate flooring.
VALUE FOR MONEY: The RRP for the Dyson V11 Outsize is $1349. This is a large outlay for most people. Thinking back over the past ten years though I have replaced vacuum cleaners three times because they faile...d..total spend was $1119. From the reviews I have read and from what friends who own them have said, Dyson's run on for a long time, you can buy spare parts, and their customer service is apparently good. It seems the value is there. MANEUVERABILITY: The V11 Outsize is the heaviest of all the Dyson stick cleaners as it has the largest dust canister and an extra large floor head. Despite this I found it to be comfortable in my hand, the trigger within easy reach, and with a turn of the wrist it moved easily around things like furniture legs. The weight of the dust canister didn't feel particularly heavy when vacuuming the floor, although it did when I held it up to clean the air-conditioning grate in the ceiling. It was also very maneuverable when cleaning under beds. EASE OF USE: The cordless feature of the V11 Outsize makes it really easy to use. No more dragging a cleaner behind you and it getting hung up and having to go back and free it up. After a month of use I am just starting to accept that there is no cord to trip over.
Out Classes and Outsizes all it’s competitors - Bonus shoot out with Dyson V8 absolute+!
Wow....... Dyson have done it again with the V11 Outsize, it is seriously a game changer in so many ways and not just in the advances in technology in house cleaning but in driving gender equality in domestic duties. Since the “Outsize” arrival into our home - Chateau De Shoebox (small) both my son (10 yr old) and I have been leading the charge into fray against dust and dirt leaving Mum and Daughter wanting for access to the Outsize, leaving them the V8 Absolute, our house hasn’t been cleaner! Whilst Covid 19, may suck for some in lockdown, w...e are glad for the presence of “The all mighty Sucker” being the Dyson v11 Outsize, seriously we would not know where we would be without it. Having all four of us and our bearded lady in the circus (Mini Schnauzer dog) at home 24/7 the daily activity with back door left open, has dramatically increased dirt and grime being traipsed through the house. You really appreciate the importance of having such a handy, versatile, intelligent and fast cleaning device at your finger tips and it has become an essential item to have in these hard times to keep our house clean. It is that simple and fun to use that we all want to use it especially the boys, resulting in dad and son often duelling Dyson’s all that was missing was the banjos, now that is special, where Dyson has broken down the barriers achieving what no other vac has done.... my son and I vacuuming. They say we all need to kick in and help in these hard Covid 19 lockdown times, well this has made it happen in our house. Seriously, in the first days the dog was also out of work in keeping with the Covid times as the kids would drop things at dinner onto the floor and then clean up after themselves whipping out the Outsize before the dog could even get to hoover it up. We even play Vac Wars (mimicking Star Wars) in our house where the Outsize is the prize weapon of choice where you will be sitting down and have 8 or 10 year out sneak up and suck you (with the stick removed)...... probably not what the intended design, however we call it an undisclosed design feature and its fun and funny too.... LOL (see photos - Dad the space cowboy) Seriously Why I Recommend the Outsize: Now the V11 Outsize, with the HUGE dust bin that operationally appears to take at least 5 times more dirt than the V8 absolute as well as being the most powerful sucker in hand held vacuums with the larger cleaning head really makes the job time so much faster and easier of vacuuming the house, on top of having the intelligent power management system of: 1. Eco mode (low power - works excellently picking up dust and dirt), 2. Auto (Intelligently choices mode to suit the job - works brilliantly) and 3, Boost (suck the hair off the dog mode) this mode is for hard stuff, really understand why they put the adjustment on the vac heads for this mode to moderate the suction otherwise you might suck the paint of the walls! Lol (actually lifts mats) With the clever assortment of attachments collectively enable the Outsize to confidently go where no other “Stick” Vacuum has gone making this a smart choice to buy as it is well equipped to service small or large houses very well. Secondly, I even went over to my mums large house to use it, as well as to get my mum to use it as she is a hard marker in the cleaning department. The Outsize bested her and her house doing it in a single go without changing the bin - even though to do so is no biggie either, my 97 year old Great Grandma used it and emptied bin with quick release as she has arthritis (wanted to test- little heavy without stick but managed). Now my mum is a clean freak, yep the type that irons underpants and singlet, wash the shirt before it darkens the floor-drobe type. She was that impressed she is upgrading her V6 to the V11 Outsize, shelling out the asking price as a pensioner - speaks volumes.

Questions & Answers
I bought my Dyson V11 outsize 6 months ago, have not had an issue with it until a few weeks ago. It will not differentiate carpet to floor boards and is sucking at carpet power mode and obviously draining the battery so much quicker. Any tips on how to fix it?
Hi check the little screen on top it should say Auto and the bottom pad and roller should be clean .Hopefully it works
The Dyson V11 Outsize needs to be in Auto mode, with the Torque Drive Cleaner Head attached for the machine to change automatically between hard floors and carpets.
If the machine is in Boost or Eco modes, you are using another floor tool, the machine won't automatically change.
If you continue to experience difficulties, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Dyson Experts, you can find ways of getting in touch here: https://www.dyson.com.au/support/contact-us
Yes I always have the machine in auto mode and the Torque Drive Cleaner is always attached.
My Dyson outsize works, however, the 2nd battery says charged and when I put it in nothing happens.
So we can get this sorted for you, we would kindly ask you to give our Dyson Experts a call on 1800 239 766 with your machine handy. Our helpline is open Monday - Friday 8am - 7pm and Saturday - Sunday 8:30am - 4pm AEST.

We look forward to hearing from you and assisting.
We have just purchased the V11 outsize and find the dust head pulls firmly to the right when vacuuming, we cannot understand why it is doing this even on ECO mode.
This is certainly not to be expected. We would encourage checking the wheels underneath the floor tool and ensuring all the wheels are clear of debris and spin freely.
If so and this continues, please give our Dyson Experts a call on 1800 239 766 with your machine handy at your convenience.
