It is not bad
I am a long term Dyson user. The v11 is much more powerful and it is a very efficient cleaning soloution.
My only concern of the products is washing. There are smell everytime after wash. I would give it a 4 stars.
Purchased for $1,329.00.
- V11 Outsize
Fabulous vacuum but hard to handle
Very strong suction perfect for all types of flooring and carpets. Top heavy, wish the switch was lockable, painful holding it down while using. Not ideal for anyone with arthritis.
Purchased in June 2020 at Betta Home Living for $1,300.00.
- V11 Outsize
Dyson v11 outsize is awesome as it’s bigger and better than my previous v7 the head is bigger and wider which picks up more and the capacity in the dirt canister is huge which means we don’t have to empty it as often. So overall good product but a little heavy on the hand.

Expensive, so far good
I have never been a fan of Dyson products. But after seeing some adds on tv I got thinking, I'll do some research and found it interesting and positive. I took the plunge and shelled out the $1299. Well packed good amount of attachments. One big disappointment is that it came with one battery, the videos I watched on YouTube from U.S.A come with two batteries. I notified Dyson Service Australia why we in Australia get only one battery? I have had no contact from Dyson, its now been 0ne month and I still have not received any correspondence from...Dyson, that's not good. Anyhow the outsize is surprisingly good. If I need to use it on boost I get only 8 minutes use out of the battery, two batteries would be handy, Dyson! Using the outsize on medium I should get 30 minutes use?. Overall I'm happy but I have concerns, the warranty is 2 years repair warranty at $1299 warranty should be a replacement and or 5 years warranty. Secondly how long is this thing going to last before it starts to break down? I had a Bissell 25v and had trouble with the foot assembly, Bissell sent me a new one free of charge 2 years after the warranty, fantastic! Time will tell.. There is one big concern, what happens if or when this vacuum goes out for repair,??? We don't have another vacuum cleaner..!!!

If you hate dragging out the vacuum cleaner and connecting it to a long extension cord to vacuum the car then the Dyson V11 Outsize certainly makes life much easier.
If you hate dragging around a vacuum cleaner while reaching for those hard to reach cobwebs... then this vacuum cleaner is for you.
If you hate cordless vacuum cleaners that barely suck... then this vacuum cleaner is for you.
Yes the Dyson is convenient... but it has a couple of obvious detractions.
1) The V11 Outsize came with a truck load of fittings... none of which fi...

As somebody who seems to be far too good at tripping over cords or yanking them out of the wall at the worst time, the Dyson V11 has been a welcome surprise. As somebody who also has lots of fluff and long hair lying around, the Dyson V11 hasn't improved my mood very much. The very short version of my review is as follows: the V11 Outsize is great for regular quick and smaller vacuuming jobs but it's not the best if you have lots of very dusty, dirty, and hairy vacuuming to take care of, and especially not if it's on uneven hard floors. Now for...the long version... Having used portable battery-powered stick-vacuums at friends' houses, getting one of my own was a relief. My house is quite small but I have lots of things in awkward places and my ancient-but-trusty bag vacuum keeps getting stuck on things or the cord will wrap around something expensive and pull it over whenever I need to venture into far corners. With the V11 Outsize I can now leap around like a twit and not level the contents of my house in the process. I mostly have hard wood floors, some kinda lumpy tiled floors, and rugs to hide them all. The V11 is not a weakling by any stretch! One rug in particular must be vacuumed on the 'Eco' setting otherwise the V11 lifts the rug off the ground unless my full weight is behind it (and I'm quite tall). What did disappoint me though is with all that suction power, some objects on hard floors just won't go up the tube. I spent over 5 minutes trying to vacuum up a single piece of popcorn but the recalcitrant oversized crumb would not yield. If it wasn't blown away by air coming out of the vacuum head, it would get stuck inside the head and pretend to disappear only to reappear when I moved to a new section of floor. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but my old (corded) vacuum won't let anything survive whereas the V11 seemed to have trouble taking up objects that weren't already very small. For example, a puffy ball of dryer lint wouldn't go under the head - instead it would be blown a few centimetres away. A coffee bean - it simply wouldn't fit under the front of the vacuum head without me lifting the whole unit up and placing it on top, but then sometimes it would blow the bean away first. A plastic bread bag clip - nope! A toothpick - NUH! These are all items my huge corded vacuum willingly eats that the V11 Outsize couldn't sink its teeth into at all, or not without lots of fuss. As for rugs, it does a brilliant job on those - really really good. Because my house isn't a mansion, I could vacuum all the rugs and floors three times before having to recharge the battery. If you need to tackle a large house with lots and lots of thick carpets, I doubt you'd get through it on one charge. With that said, if you (like me) don't treat housework as a marathon event that must be finished all in one go, the V11 is perfect for working on a small section of the house at a time. I definitely use it more than my old vacuum cleaner simply because I can grab it and walk anywhere in the house without having to perform tantric yoga to reach a spare power plug.

I have carpet, vinyl and tiles
First thing I noticed was the lack of a manual, until I discovered that one could download it.
The packaging was very good and was surprised by all the attachments that came with it.
It is a great vacuum cleaner, and for my home, the battery lasts long enough to do my whole house. My problem is possibly age-related, but I did find that when using the attachments, it is too heavy and hard to manoeuvre in tight spaces. There is no way I would even attempt to use it for anything overhead.
Also, possibly because I...

V11 Oustsize Dyson's Mega Cordless stick! But is it the best all-rounder?
I’ve purchased many brands of Corded Vacuum and Hand held/Dust Buster cleaners in the past 35 years.. My experience is that Dyson by far is the best brand for longevity and performance, still owning my corded Dyson some 15 years on, flogging it in my previous large home, so followed up with a Dyson DC59 stick as a Dust Buster, but found it was so good I started to use it as a regular house Vacuum Cleaner, using it now in my average sized home nearly 3 years. After 5 years the battery started to die after a few minutes use, another battery ...purchased from Dyson has is still running perfectly, into year 6. We have almost finished building a rather large house, and with a lot of build dust happening for a long time, I had been looking into the purchase of a more heavy duty stick with more power and longer battery life for our next house, not wanting to go back to using a corded cleaner. As my current stick does a great job, I thought a newer model would surpass it. It was very timely that I was asked to trial and review the Dyson V11 Outsize, by productreview.com. This is an unpaid review. For anyone currently with a Dyson Stick and wondering if the time has come, and if it is worth the money to upgrade, I hope my honest review and insight comparing the old to new can add extra perspective from a household review point. For first time buyers considering a Dyson, my operation and performance review will hopefully assist you too. I am not measuring sound or throwing anything onto a floor to test. But, speaking of sound, there is some good news!! This Dyson has been trialled at my current 28 square metre home. Our household flooring, consists of matt tiles to Living areas, Master Bed and Hallways, 3m x 4m metre rugs, charcoal carpet in media room, office, theatre room and 3 x minor bedrooms. Residing is two adults and a very special hairy Border Collie Fur Child, who sheds a lot of long fur year round, along with my long hair, also adding to the shedding problem onto floors.
Overall I am impressed with this effective cordless vacuum cleaner. It is excellent at cleaning carpets.
The V11 Oversize arrived well packed in bits of shaped cardboard; all of which are easy to compost. No plastics or foams. The vacuum is bigger and heavier than I am used to. I am short. When the vacuum was assembled, it came up to my sternal notch. I lay it across a carver chair for easy access to change parts. The Dyson V11 Oversize did not come with an instruction manual in the box, so one has to look on-line to understand how to use it. T...

So you’re considering to purchase one of the most expensive stick vacuums on the market but is it worth the money?
The moment you unpack the tools and lift the vacuum out of the box, you will realise two things. Muscles in your forearm that you never thought you had and that you have purchased a product that feels solid.
While rebuilding a 45 sqm home, we decided to install a ducted vacuum system purely because of the size of the house. Our long-lived Dyson barrel vacuum got placed into storage and has never seen the light of day. The...ultimate reason is wanting portability of only having to take a hose up and down the stairs and keep the dust, dirt and noise outside. Like most males, no instructions, I just wanted to snap it all together and clean the house from top to bottom. Clicked the battery in and up came the digital display showing 35% battery remaining. Not an issue, I plugged the charger in and searched for the manual to read over the tools Dyson provide you with. I am glad to see a company finally doing away with a paper manual in 20 languages but instead a link to an online manual. Scanned the QR code via my iPad camera and up came the Dyson V11. They provide you with everything you need to know how to use it, videos, and a downloadable manual so there is no need for me to explain how to use the vacuum in this review. Having fun yet? No? Battery now at 37%. Battery vs Performance: You are presented with information to 'fully recharge your battery' before using it but for how long? Dyson specifies the battery will last around 60mins based on how you use it, but they don't inadvertently tell you how long it takes to charge. In the 'Getting Started video' it reveals the demonstrator's vacuum with a 20% charge and 2hrs later it appears to be fully charged. Unfortunately, it takes almost 4.5hrs to fully recharge a flat battery so consider this based on how you clean. You might now be thinking, (I'll just buy another battery) but you may want to reconsider. The cost of a replacement/additional battery is around $199 but how do you charge it with only one charger? It takes 4.5hrs to charge with a 1hr operating time which means you cant charge a secondary battery before your main battery runs flat so you'll need another charger also.
Dear Reader; I will declare that I did not purchase this vacuum cleaner. It was sent to me by Product Review to use, test and review. This is not my first Dyson. I purchased a Dyson V8 Absolute Plus back in 2018, and I sent it back under the satisfaction guarantee. You can read that review here.
Unboxing: Dyson products are amazingly well packaged, and it takes a huge amount of effort to repackage if you ever want to return one. (You tube videos of unboxings are ver...y helpful in this regard, watch in reverse!). The manual was scant, but perfect for me, (No big manual in my box) but please pay attention to the instructions stuck to the unit for emptying the dust bin etc. It's all simple, logical, the unit will tell you when you wash the hepa filter, move on. They really managed to pack a lot into the box with this Outsize version of the 11. The first thing that stands out is the size of the motor unit, especially the dust bin. Way bigger the older style machines, ie v6 and v8 and 50% bigger than the V10 and base model v11. This is a good thing. The main torque drive vacuum head is also 25% bigger. Finally making it the same size as most corded and ducted vacuum cleaner heads, with the added benefit of motorhead, (a motorised rotating brush that is key to the Dysons ability to pick up dust, dirt and especially hair from floors and carpet). The other sensation is of quality. Every part feels solid, well-engineered and very well made. There are very few cordless vacuum cleaners that you can say that about. Note: A majority of my house is tiled, main lounge is floorboards, 4 carpeted double bedrooms, and one big 3.6m x 2m long pile rug makes it 2/3rd’s hard floors and 1/3rd carpet.

Beautiful, really powerful, well built fantastic tools supplied - but it's a brute.
My first impressions of the Dyson were that it's simply brilliant. The unit and attachments are very well made, it’s well supplied with fittings. It should be, at this price point though at time of review, The Good Guys are listing it at $1299.
There’s a bit of an issue at first, knowing about the fittings i.e. what does what? I would have preferred a brochure, naming/showing function refer to web videos for same.
Detailed instructions are not in the box, but the quick-start brochure sends you to: www.dyson.com/YourV11 Outsi...ze where a good 12 page User Manual is available. Online Registration reportedly gives access to more videos, I have not registered at this time. The supplied wall-mount is designed to hold the tools, it's not immediately obvious where each is stored? This is briefly shown on one video, but a picture would have been helpful.

Highly Intelligent engineering comprehensively supremely fits the job
The V11 outsize should have at least six stars and all its competition no more than five. But some will be unhappy with it because it is too big, heavy and clumsy for people my size (male 5’7”) and smaller people; and I’m happy knowing I got around such objections and more (and leaving out a star gets more attention so is more helpful, I hope).
My wife baby-sat two primary-school-age girls whose mother owns a smaller lighter model with the same type of trigger switch that has to be pressed to keep the motor running. The switch on the smaller ...

Dyson V11 Outsize is king for suction but a little big and heavy for a portable stick vac
Like most, I have gone through quite a few vacuum cleaners over the years. Several worthwhile models to mention include:
1. Trusty corded VAX V11 (red) wet and dry vacuum cleaner we still have and use. It has has never missed a beat over the (20) years and power level never needed to be lifted from the lowest setting! It is bagged with large capacity. The only problem is falling over when I am too enthusiastic. It doesn't have any bumper on the "waistline" of the motor bucket and tends to rub against door frames and wall when I drag it around ...not paying attention to it. I added a belt to it so it looks like Santa claus. 2. Corded Miele C2 bagged vacuum cleaner which is small, lightweight, powerful and has good filtration because of the HEPA AirClean filter. 3. Black and Decker Pivot Dustbuster, bagless and cordless with great suction and small. But I don't like the loud high pitch sound it makes. 4. Makita LXT handheld vac (DCL180Z) which is cheap and nasty but good for hard floor, favoured by many tradies because it uses the LXT 18V battery like all other Makita tools you can easily get several or smaller or larger size (capacity) based on your needs. Most Powerful Adaptive Suction Power This Dyson V11 Outsize is my first Dyson vac. As far as suction is concerned, I am completely sold! It is the undisputed king and (run time aside) even trumps over majority of mains powered vacuum cleaners. I guess the clear bin really shows off how well this Dyson works in terms of the cyclone action as well as the large amount of dust and loose items it pulls out and this adds to the satisfaction. We vacuum the floor every week and I couldn't believe how much it captured first time we used it. It easily filled several bins just going over the rugs in our fully floor-boarded home. We do have a fair number of rugs but I frankly did not expect this significant amount of difference. Rugs look visibly cleaner. Given this is the primary purpose of this machine, it is 10/10. There are three power settings - Eco, Med and Boost in which Med automatically adjusts based on resistance (only) if you use the direct drive head. Therefore, it is also called the Auto mode. Keep it in Med mode, it is fantastic!

Questions & Answers
I bought my Dyson V11 outsize 6 months ago, have not had an issue with it until a few weeks ago. It will not differentiate carpet to floor boards and is sucking at carpet power mode and obviously draining the battery so much quicker. Any tips on how to fix it?
Hi check the little screen on top it should say Auto and the bottom pad and roller should be clean .Hopefully it works
The Dyson V11 Outsize needs to be in Auto mode, with the Torque Drive Cleaner Head attached for the machine to change automatically between hard floors and carpets.
If the machine is in Boost or Eco modes, you are using another floor tool, the machine won't automatically change.
If you continue to experience difficulties, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Dyson Experts, you can find ways of getting in touch here: https://www.dyson.com.au/support/contact-us
Yes I always have the machine in auto mode and the Torque Drive Cleaner is always attached.
My Dyson outsize works, however, the 2nd battery says charged and when I put it in nothing happens.
So we can get this sorted for you, we would kindly ask you to give our Dyson Experts a call on 1800 239 766 with your machine handy. Our helpline is open Monday - Friday 8am - 7pm and Saturday - Sunday 8:30am - 4pm AEST.

We look forward to hearing from you and assisting.
We have just purchased the V11 outsize and find the dust head pulls firmly to the right when vacuuming, we cannot understand why it is doing this even on ECO mode.
This is certainly not to be expected. We would encourage checking the wheels underneath the floor tool and ensuring all the wheels are clear of debris and spin freely.
If so and this continues, please give our Dyson Experts a call on 1800 239 766 with your machine handy at your convenience.
