strong chemical smell The base of the cardboard box that the buffet was in was also wet now sitting on my hardwood floor. As I unpacked the furniture the smell was even worse the packing inside stinks of chemicals. And it got worse every piece of furniture was damaged certainly didn’t resemble what was in the show room I’ve seen better quality timber on packing crates. I rang the store day of delivery to inform them of the problem sent photos the next day I was told the manager would call Monday that didn’t happen I called them I was told would be picked up on the 14th November. I think this is totally unreasonable I want my money refunded promptly and these items of furniture removed sooner than the 14th Be wary of purchasing this range very poor quality. I’m giving two stars solely because Early Settler’s customer service and communication around complaints have been reasonable. However, for a product advertised as “genuine” and “premium” leather, the quality simply doesn’t hold up. I won’t be buying any leather furniture from Early Settler again.

Large Bookcase in April. After we received two faulty bookcases with visible cracks, dents and paint dripping, and so many defects that we can't even attach all photos in one email. We were really unhappy with the quality as we were expecting a standard quality bookcase like the one we saw in the showroom so we decided to go ahead with a full refund. We waited whole day at home, but no one showed up to take the faulty bookcase. Finally the bookcase got picked up after one week! After the bookcase got returend, we did not receive the full refund! The whole process was so frustrating and time consuming. After more than 2 months, we wasted our time, energy and money and we still have no bookcase.

Never again – Can I do a minus in stars. One of the worst experiences I’ve had buying furniture. I had to chase up a receipt and then after multiple attempts finally had my table and chairs delivered only to find they were not assembled! And the table weights over 116kgs!! After the amount I paid for them they were not even assembled and not one staff member told me this would be the case. Will never buy from Early Settler again.

live alone with the occassional visitor & have a small 6kg dog. I have a cover over the lounge to protect the fabric except for visitors. To my utter disappointment the seat cushions have depressed significantly & are less than half as thick as it was at the start. The back cushions are great as well as the small ones & I recently plumped up. I’ve turned the two lower cushions over and tried to pump them up, but it makes no difference. I didn't feel I should have to pay another removalist fee. They finally agreed to pay removalist. We waited weeks only to be told the cost was too high. I suggested they approach another removalist. I waited . Finally I ended up organised family to lift it out for us. Early settles checked the replacement and found it was also faulty. I requested a refund which I received. After 8 weeks of stress, I had nothing to show for my efforts I would strongly advise to check everything that you buy or needs to be delivered. Delivery is appauling – We purchased a few pieces of furniture earlier in the year in your store. Nothing is available to take straight away, which is ridiculous, you have to wait for them to have it shipped up from their storage in Victoria. I swore never to shop there again, however decided to try one more time and ordered a rug online. Another big mistake. I ordered it and ensured that the website stated it was in stock. All it needed was to be shipped up from their warehouse to my local store.
2 weeks later, it has not moved. It has not been shipped up, I have not been told of any delay, it is just sitting there in limbo. No response from customer service. There is absolutely no excuse for it to not be dispatched if it is in stock. If it is not in stock, there is also absolutely no excuse for me not to be contacted to advise of the delay.
I will not shop with them again. Whilst their items are beautiful, their deliver is absolutely terrible.

3 items with a total value of $4,660. the Second in charge from the auburn store made the sale to me and promised the item will be delivered the next following Tuesday after I expressed how important for me to receive the item on time. the outcome was that the delivery was not delivered on time which I showed my understanding in terms of the courier is out of their control. when the delivery finally arrives, the parts were missing from the dining table, so the delivery staff had to take the dining table back to the warehouse and claim to check the warehouse and see if they can organize a new one. My family and I were very upset due to this consistent mistake caused by them and this has resulted in me paying unnecessary money for another arrangement. when i called the store and Spoke with their second in charge who sold me the furniture, he showed zero sympathies and did not acknowledge the mistake, and questioned the customer if you can not tell me what is missing, I can not help you and constantly told me to hold on, not listening to the customer. when I called the customer service line and wish to raise a complaint, I waited for the manager to return the callback and the conversation outcome with the manager was she does not know why the staff is apologizing for & they do not open every box to check if all the pieces are there. she interrogated me by saying was I physically there when the delivery guy installed the dining table & how to prove the parts are missing? How ridiculous! I simply want the furniture which I had paid for and the entire impression i experienced with the team are absolutely a joke. Unsure if the early settler is a family business or not, not to mention the inconsistency story they have been saying in just 1 hour with the No of Stock available. In addition, I have not got the refund which I WAS SUPPOSE TO RECEIVE TODAY.
