Sellers can have genuine negative reviews deleted by Ebay
Bought item from Ebay over a week ago but the item never arrived. I left honest 1 star experience rating because it never arrived. Seller was able to get eBay to delete it because she has a 'good rating'. Wasn't able to complain either or repost. Im sure most people would say not receiving your order is a terrible experience. Ebay is fraudulent!!
Satisfied customer since 2003
EBay is my go to spot for all my online shopping. I love the ability to search for something locally or from overseas. The rating system for sellers is accurate and a good incentive for sellers not to be dodgy. If I ever run into a problem eBay's got my back, especially if you use PayPal to pay. I recently signed up to be an eBay plus member and it is well worth the money in postage savings and exclusive discounts. EBay even has a phone number where you can call and speak to a real person if you have to. I've used eBay as a seller and had my own personal online garage sale. They even take care of the postage costs where you just print a label and they charge your Paypal account. It really doesn't get any easier than that.

Ebay and seller in CAHOOTS! THIEVES. Would not refund on item not received!
Paid for an item about 3 weeks ago- Hohem stabiliser. Emailed the seller (Maexus) many times to cancel the order but NO response. Opened case with Ebay to request refund for non delivery of item. Then only did seller replied. Said item was delivered. Never arrived. Asked for proof of delivery from Ebay and my case was dismissed by some imbecile in customer service. I appealed the decision and again it was dismissed by the same imbecile. They just fobbed me off. Couldn't care less! Ebay and seller are in cahoots and defrauded me of $110! What hap...pened to buyer protection? Not worth the toilet paper it's written on. Ebay and seller are THIEVES. I recommend other sellers like Alibaba, Aliexpress, Banggood, Tomtop, Cesdeals, Wish, Catch of the Day to name a few. You can buy everything and cheaper from these sellers. Do not buy from EBAY. You will be dudded. I will contact Fair Trading as I have rights under Australian Consumer Law. Buyers if you have been ripped off contact Fair Trading.
disgusted in ebay
I am disgusted in ebay for allowing sellers to sell products (toilet paper) at inflated prices....
These prices are disgusting and ebay your responsible for controlling peoples madness and taking advantage of people who know, know better..... Disgusted in you
eBay profits from coronavirus
eBay is allowing people to sell products at highly inflated prices that exploit the old and the infirm due to fears around the coronavirus I have deleted my account and will never use these people who are devoid of any humanity.
eBay 10% final sale commission rip off
eBay was great at the beginning because there was no competitors and we did not care much of their final sale commission of 10% but it has been two decades and there is so many other advertising platforms now but eBay still charges 10%, eBay free insertion fee means nothing.
They try to charge for items you didnt sell on eBay
I got a statement from eBay and i was shocked to find they were charging me for items and postage for things i withdrew from the site. I have given up trying to contact them and point out their mistake, they dont care and just keep sending me threatening emails, if i dont pay i will be suspended, so suspend me i dont care. You used to be very good, but now your just greedy like all the rest and dont care about people who once trusted you.
eBay unhelpful and untrustworthy
I paid for some masks and didn’t receive them. I subsequently contacted the seller stating I’ve received advice that masks were delivered to my premises but I haven’t received any delivery.
The seller was unwilling to chase up Australia post and requested that I do it and ask for a refund on the product. I stated to the seller that contract regarding for the freight is between himself and Australia post and it was his responsibility for resolve this matter. I also stated that I do not wish to be reimbursed but want replacement .

Good on buyer protection but Lots of dodgy sellers
Ebay is a good platform I think compared to other online stores, except Amazon. I only rate Amazon better due to their rating system on products every seller sells. In contrast, in ebay most items have no review or rating, therefore lot of them are very poor quality. Lot of sellers are dodgy here as well, saying the items are locally shipped whereas actually from overseas and most sellers are from China based.
Ebay provides option to pay through Paypal and other systems which is better compared to Amazon. I had no issues with items and customer services from Ebay. In fact, the customer service is very good once you raise it properly.
Disgraceful customer service
Once again I get burnt by eBay so it’s about time I take my own advice and boot using the site. There are some great sellers but unfortunately there seem to be more cheats these days and eBay is not weening them out instead they let them and watch while they scam and shill bid etc...
Customer service are off with the pixies!! They do not know how to speak to people with respect. One does not need to curse to have a pompous ass attitude and that’s how they treat you when you have a legitimate complaint and are right in your argument.

Biased marketplace managed by Inefficient people. Rob both buyers and sellers money through all possible ways.
To the buyers and sellers...avoid them and promote local marketplaces. Most of the people who work there dont even know what they are talking about. Complete waste of time and money.
There are better places to buy and sell.
In my experience (member 17 years), trying to contact eBay is like butting your head against a brick wall. It removed my right to give a seller (positive) feedback for no reason I could fathom. The item was bought mid Feb. 2020 and received ten days later. Alarming the arbitrary control this foreign organisation exercises - over buyers in particular.

Sellers are not based in Australia & ITEM to be sold NOT in Australia & seller can't speak English properly
Bought an item which was supposed to be in SYDNEY received tracking number but wasn't recognized on Courier website for 5 days. I contacted seller & asked why it wasn't on Courier website but they had no idea what I was asking. Today, I received an email from eBay & when I went online to eBay it stated "item located in NSW Australia" but when I went to seller's name it said 'based in China'. There is no where on eBay to sent a complaint possibly because they are only interested in getting their cut of sale. Tried to contact eBay 'on chat' got t...o "someone will be with you in less than a minute", 10 minutes later I was still waiting so I gave up. If eBay not willing to allow written complaints & certainly not willing to talk online, then they will lose customers & deserve it. I have always had issue with FEEDBACK basically eBay don't allow NEGATIVE feedback about sellers & experiences one may have not very Democratic of them
Would not refund on item i did not receive
I had an account with EBay and purchased a remote for Apple box. I did not receive this item and did a complaint to EBay. What a waste of time that was. They would not over turn their findings because the seller said he sent it. I read reviews after this about the same seller and these people had not received their goods.
WoW EBay we must be all liars then. The seller must be the innocent one in all these cases NOT.
E BAY TRICKSTER'S TRICKS
BEWARE THE E BAY TRICKSTERS! Those who use the Australian flag in their adverts on Ebay are often foreign crooks selling their rubbish which often is on the high seas, weeks away from the buyer. Rarely do Australian sellers use the flag. Another trick is with free post though it's not posted though couriered by the infamous Slow Way Couriers. The 80 character limit on feedback is to help the scammers, not the buyers. When the scammers get to a low review score total they change their E bay name & start all over again with 100%.Obviously Ebay is well aware of these scams but aid & abet them to ensure their commission.
A reduction of $200 was displayed under the bid now button. Press and get a code.
I pressed and god the code then I placed my bid to make sure I got the code. This was a 9 day auction, I won the auction and cake to enter the code and it did not work.
Contacted eBay and was told that it code of been a glitch lol, then I asked for manager and then got told that code had expired.
eBay know that the auction will end in 9 days so why put a code that will expire before then. They did not honour the code and now I am paying $200 more for an item.
Do not trust them. Code: PICK100

I purchased a satellite receiver box for an elderly parent from a seller who had 100% positive feedback. Unit failed after a less than 4 months and after repeated communication with seller they advised they would replace unit and that a new one had been sent. After several weeks with no unit in sight I contacted the seller several times, they confirmed it had been sent and then I queried if they could confirm when it had been sent the seller sent a further message advising unit had not been sent at all and they had no plans to send. The sell...er advised they would not send a new unit unless I sent old one from WA to Victoria at my expense. I felt that seller should incur cost (in line with eBay policy) and had no faith that seller would ever replace given recent scenario of promised replacement that was never sent, leaving me with an additional cost for postage, seemed prudent to cut my losses. Contacted eBay multiple times with no useful assistance at all, they advised that seller had multiple investigations listed against them and they were investigating issue. I have used phone contact, online chat and email with eBay all with differing advice (still no response to email after almost 3 weeks, although they promise response with 24-72 hours maximum). When I initially contacted eBay by phone they reviewed my case and advised seller would be prohibited from selling that product within 24-48 hours, although every subsequent communication has given different advice. As seller has protracted this issue I have now passed the 180 days where I could obtain a refund so I have no ability to seek a refund and seller is not providing a replacement. Seller ignored eBay request to replace item yet eBay permit seller to continue to sell. It appears obvious that eBay is only interested in making money and not listening to the concerns of buyers. Ebay would not consider a refund given the 180 day period had elapsed, even though I had in good faith assumed that buyer was in fact sending me a replacement as advised during this period. In this scenario the seller made money, eBay made money and Paypal made money and I as a buyer am the only party out of pocket. eBay confirmed I cannot leave feedback on seller after 60 days and so unable to warn any other potential buyers to seek a refund at the first sign of any problem. This experience has clearly identified for me that eBay customer service is of no value at all. It appeared that the agents were simply reading from a script every time I contacted them with a query/complaint and I will certainly be avoiding eBay from now on. I am also informing all relatives, friends, colleagues and any other contacts to beware!
eBay provides little support for sellers by overcompensating buyers freedoms - Look elswhere
Terrible service to sellers and buyers have been provided with the power to work the system. Highly recommend going to Amazon which is what we decided to do for the following reasons:
A seller can return items even when a listing clearly states "no returns". All a Seller needs to do is claim the item is "fake" or "not authentic", or "not as described" and eBay will hold the funds until it is sorted out. If the Seller does not sort it to the satisfaction of the Buyer, and in most cases to the benefit of the Buyer, then the transaction will be f...ully refunded and the Buyer is then made to also pay for the return of the item. The other way Buyers scam the system is by damaging the item received in order to get a refund by claiming the seller sent the item already damaged (typically seen with buyers remorse). Sellers are unable to leave negative feedback on a Buyer: Because of this, bad buyers have been able to bid, win, and NOT PAY for items they bid on. In one instance, one Buyer had 60% bad "written" feedback, however, it was shown as positive because the only way a Seller can provide feedback on a buyer is by selecting "Positive Experience" when providing ALL feedback to a Buyer, even if the experience was bad. For more reasons on why you should sell your items on Amanzon, Quicksales, TradeMe or any other reputable online auction site, check out the many complaints and law suits filed against eBay by searching "Criticism_of_eBay" on WikiPedia. FYI: Don't even think about selling on Gumtree either, aside from the small amount of visitors they get each month, Gumtree is also owned by eBay. Happy selling everyone!
I purchased the catit cat water filler, this is copy! not real products and long time delivery, I commented after I receive my order........ I also received the bother emails., the sender requested me change the negative feedback to positive feedback! Don’t buy from this account #BESTSELLING 1010#
Questions & Answers
Has anyone had messages from eBay asking for credit card details for a item that was never purchased.i have never brought anything off ebay
Why does E-bay mark items as being delivered when tracking clearly shows the items being in another town?
It's not eBay that marks it Delivered, it's the courier. eBay just shows you what online tracking says.
Tax avoidance scam to save the 10% GST which applies to products sent from overseas, eg. from China as well as taking advantage of low postage charges. If you take a look at Aus Post domestic charges you quickly realize that expecting to buy an item for under 10 bucks locally with free delivery include is not realistic.
With most Chinese made products Aust based sellers either buy in bulk from Alibaba and try to compete with Chinese based sellers or for low volume items they order from AliExpress and item is shipped directly to you.
May as well cut out the middleman and order directly from China. ;-)
