Incompetent Service
On the Thursday I tried to start my 2020 Forester and the battery was flat, seeing I had a service booked on the Monday, I checked the warranty. The battery warranty was due to expire on the Saturday, so, I phoned Eblen Service at Glenelg to explain there may be an issue with my battery, however, it was not worthwhile getting it checked as I had a service appointment about one day after the warranty expired. Well, you would think I was a criminal, the woman told me that no, it would be out of warranty and they would have to ask Subaru for a g...
Read moreoodwill replacement which could take ten days! I was also told that I would have leave my vehicle overnight as the battery had to be charged and then tested, there were no loan vehicles! They knew I lived a fair distance from them! I checked with battery manufacturer’s and was told that it was not necessary to leave a vehicle overnight, there were devices that could immediately check if the battery was faulty. So, I attend on the Monday, they service the vehicle and tell me the battery is OK. A few days later I checked the oil in my Forester, I found it was black as pitch (vehicle KLM 8000k) and was filled about 30mm above the oil full mark on the dipstick! Seeing white scale and water on my battery, I found that the washer fluid had been filled to the brim way over filled causing the fluid to splash out onto the battery. I phoned and spoke to the service manager who tried to tell me that it was the correct level when it was showing overfilled. I contacted Subaru who informed me that the service manager was incorrect! I also attended another Subaru dealership and they also confirmed the oil had been over filled, AND that the tyres was only at 23psi when they recommended 36psi, seems Eblens didn’t even bother checking the tyres? I had no choice, I had to replace the oil and oil filter to get it back to the recommended level. I also had to remove about half a litre of washer fluid. So I placed a review on here, then I got a call from an AP Eagers (they own Eblens) executive who I trusted. He convinced me to remove the reviews and they would refund me for the oil and oil filter I had to purchase. I am renewing this review as the refund didn’t happen, it’s not the money, I just don’t want to be taken as a trusting idiot. If you are from AP Eagers and reading this, don’t care who you are don’t bother contacting me to get rid of this review!- 42 reviews

Very happy with service
I bought a new 21 Forester and was very happy with the customer service. There was no pressure to buy high priced extras and the car was well presented when I picked it up.

Pressure sales approach is bullying in my opinion -3rd car from them and the last.
You cannot say we havent tried to resolve things. We hated the service centre at Glenelg (another poster said they treat you like an idiot - that is so correct) so we use Kingswood branch - very happy. We went to buy my wife a new Forester. We ended up staying in the Glenelg branch for about 5 hours. Really they would not take no - We didn't really want the paint protection. They just keep trying to convince you. We ordered the car without it. Then started the charm offensive and we checked with our panel beater who said the paint protection wa...
Read mores necessary. We got told that it did protect against bird droppings by the staff - the panel beater said that was rubbish. In the end, my wife felt so bullied she asked me to resolve it. I phoned the sales manager ( he sold me my car 5 years ago) he got them to send an email to me with all the details on it. The overall marketing says it does protect against bird droppings but the detailed one states - only if washed off within 24 hours. The details state you have to use the Perfexion products to clean your car for its life or a PH neutral product thats approved. They now supply you that for free - we never even knew that with our first two vehicles despite having the product coated on our cars. I rejected the product offered - and then received an email that stated this "You have had this products before and we have been through everything that was covered and Julie was very happy with this, especially purchasing the crimson red colour which can show marking from bird droppings and tree sap?" We took the trade-in that morning to them so I had not seen this email reply to my final emailed NO - had I seen it we may well have walked away from the deal. So even after my emphatic no, the customer care rep came and tried to convince Julie and then when referred to me still wanted to ask me why I would not take the product. It had got to the level of bullying. When I raised this with the sales manager ( after reading the email when I got home) he stated that the rep was entitled to request that clarification and I was entitled to refuse to give it. Really is that how you want to retain a relationship. I love the Subaru vehicle and the hand over this time was great but we will never buy from this dealership again - I will still have my servicing done by their Kingswood branch but really I wonder why No doesn't mean No at this branch. These days there are far more Subaru dealerships in the area and we will find one that suits us. I note that none of the reviews is good on here maybe the dealer principle should ask why.- 27 reviews

Staff talk to you like your stupid
Bought my Subaru Levorg new from Reynella Subaru in 2016, friendly sales staff and knowledgable.
I have been taking it to Eblen Subaru at Glenelg for its servicing, my last service (which was $430 for an oil change) also replaced my air filter. Now the car has only done 37k km and at 10k km I replaced it with a 120$ performance air filter (washable). They had taken this out, broken it on the way out and charged me for a new one... I also made note of a whine coming from the gearbox (yes, I stated gearbox) under heavy acceleration, guess what t...
Read morehey said 'its a turbo car, its meant to make an intake noise' Umm, I'm sorry, do I have stupid written on my head?! I also said that the front suspension is knocking over rough roads.... they said this is normal for the Levorg... Safe to say I have let as many people know about there terrible service, it's been that bad and the quality of the car quite poor (for a 55k car) we are now selling it and moving from Subaru. Will never recommend Subaru or Eblen Servicing to anyone... Makes sense why they have other terrible reviews online... Bought my Subaru from the government auctions. The car was purchased and serviced at Eblens and i was keen for them to continue servicing and extended warranty. Have been in, waited for a while and was told the person would ring me when he is free. A week went without a call, rang again twice and was told he would get back. Still nothing after 3 weeks or more. I am very disappointed. Lousy PR. Peter
Salesperson New cars
2017 I booked a test drive hoping to get [name removed] but unfortunately I got [name removed] in new cars, Who from the start was just annoying, clearly wasn't a car enthusiasts , Un-travelled Un-cultured, a person that didn't listen to are wants and needs, who made strange remarks and comments, A very weird man with his almost robot like skills , no personality , I notice that he placed my partner a potential buyer in the backseat as he sat in front during test drive. Another Subaru Dealership gave us the car to test drive for the day to enjoy, perhaps [name removed] gets car sickness, I feel that [name removed] sales skills are more suited to Good Guys TV Sales Dept , Eblen Subaru dealership are great product pity this salesman wasn't

felt ripped off and lied to
Went in to look at advertised demo model. Decided to buy a new car, specifically stated I wanted a 2015 plated vehicle. Was told there was the model I wanted on the docks in Perth. And they would ship it over. Later found out it had been serviced in Nov 2014 at a dealer. 1000km check - logbook not stamped. Credit check done for $5k more than price. Items added to a second invoice which I didn't authorize. Only found this out when I needed the Vin etc for insurance. I was assured nothing dodgy was going on. Car not registered when it was supposed to be. And on it went. Only person I got anything done by was the Fleet manager who just happened to answer the phone.

Run, don't walk! Away, that is.
Our brand new car was delayed for 4 months, with no reason given, During this time we recieved two phone calls and had none of our dozens returned. As soon as our car arrived, the model was in runout- coincedence?
Once we picked our car up, the flaws in the paintwork indicated the paint protection had been applied to a dirty car, requiring it to be stripped of the protection, cleaned and re-applied. This simply should not have happened in a reputible dealership, or in any dealership for that matter.
