Don’t want to know about problems
Great product until something goes wrong. Back doors jammed locked and they couldn’t send anyone out for three weeks. Had to engage emergency locksmith. Now for the third time in two years we have to engage an emergency locksmith. Not good enough after spending $34,000+.
I couldn’t get past the hard sales tactics. Horrible!!!
After 2.5 hours of an aggressive sales pitch, I was made to sign a “I do not want the discount “ when I firmly said I would not be signing today. I can see that some people would be pressured to sign without doing their research. There ARE comparable products and better priced. Abysmal outdated sales practices. Off putting to say the least.
How many family emergency cancellations can be legit for a company of this size?
Been trying to arrange a quote for over 4 weeks. 2 hour appointment slots need to be made with all household members. Big time commitment which we have made twice now, only to get a call 30 minutes before our scheduled appointment to cancel due to family emergency. Twice. The second time we were quite annoyed and they said”its hard to arrange people for quotes” ummm that’s your job?
Waste of time!
This is a scam, stay away !!!!
Called the 1300 number on the website and the girl on the other side was mentioning double glassing over and over as if they are the only company providing double glassing these days. Fast-forward 5 min after asking my requirements for the quote they needed 2 hours for someone to come and do the quote and want the whole family to be available to give me a quote for a single bi-folding door. When ask why they need both me and my partner available for this she was like we want both of you to make the decision. When i mentioned that we both want the same colours as other windows and doors and a bi-folding door for the space she said they can't do it and hung up on me. Don't fall for this tactics of trying to force sell.
Hard Sell reeks of scam.
I have not been that uncomfortable in a long time. The quote went on & on with promises galore IF I signed a contract on the spot. Who the hell does that?? 2.5 hours to see the back of the person who came into my home & took me for somebody who could be persuaded to jump into a contract. This is no way to do business & put me right off. NO SALE!! NO STARS.
Joke of a company
On 2 separate occasions I have contacted ecostar for a quote to replace 5x awning windows. You immediately get a sales person call to schedule a measure & quote, then ask about 10 sales qualifying questions. Then 1 day before the measure & quote you get another call asking the same questions. What they are doing is qualifying whether you are likely to purchase or not. If they feel you will not buy or are collecting multiple quotes, a few hours before the appointment time you get a call saying the guy is sick and cannot attend. As per some ...other reviews, the appointment is simply a 2hr sales pitch, pressuring you to buy. You'll hear statements like, uPVC is designed for 80-90 years in the Australian environment, but its never been tested as it hasn't been in the country for more than 10-15 years and the warranty is only 10 years! This is a despicable & unethical practice, which I will be reporting to the relevant body.
Stay away- this is a scam
The sales person does a sales pitch for 2 hours and will not leave your house without theatrics (I need to call my manager etc!)- the door and window samples are awful and the prices are easily 40% above market price.
Strange and uncomfortable quote experience
Very bizarre experience when the Ecostar salesperson came to my home for a measure and quote. I genuinely went into the appointment interested in their product but after I told the salesperson I was happy to forgo the ‘single visit discount’ and would not be signing up on the spot, they became very pushy, refused to take no for an answer, and I had to lock myself in my study while he performed all sorts of calling ‘his boss’ theatrics until eventually he got the message and left. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my own home and however good their product is, their bizarre hard-sell tactics mean I certainly not buy from them
WOW!!! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT???
We're getting quotes to replace a few windows at our house. The general process is someone comes over, has a quick chat, takes some measurements, and then leaves and sends a quote within a few days. Works well.
Not with these guys!!! It was actually like a comedy show from the moment I first called after hearing their as on the radio.
The first step is totalk to someone on the phone who makes an appointment and tells you that you'll need 2 hours for the sales person to spend with you. I said I didn't have 2 hours and suggested we should ded...icate about 30 minutes. They said we should be ok. Well, it wasn't ok. After we'd sat with the sales guy for about 15 minutes and felt like we weren't moving terribly quickly, we politely suggested we speed things up and thataybe we could get to the measuring bit as we only has about another 30 minutes to spare. That's when the pantomime really kicked up a gear. "ohh no, there's no way we can do this in 30 minutes. I won't be able to tell you everything about our company and our manufacturing process". We told him that frankly we didn't care about the company and the manufacturing process, we just wanted a measure and quote.
We ordered our windows 8 months ago. still no delivery and what is more disappointing is that we have had no communications with Eco star at all. Poor.
Very poor. We paid the deposit and nothing more has eventuated.
Great at first then the product fails and they disappear
These guys and products are absolutely great, for the first year or so, after that you notice lots of things happening like as soon as the temperature rises about 25 degrees the door starts warping the higher the temp gets the worse it warps, to the point we start using the rear door so as not to have to force the door open and closed, (they have come out and adjusted it, several times, but as soon as the weather changes it’s the same old problem!
We also loved our window for the first year or so, until we noticed the sound coming through again...
Fake 5 star reviews, avoid at all costs
Company is very obviously writing their own reviews (have a look at the very low number of reviews and the suspiciously good “customer” knowledge of things like acoustic and energy properties). Sales tactics from the late 80s, feels like we were attending a presentation to buy timeshare. Product looks ok but at twice the price of competitors. Salesman called “his boss” multiple times when I told him it was time to go. Wasted almost 3 hours of our time (for one living area for indicative costing when he told us “it would take very long”) going t...hrough company history, production methods, installation process in a very theatrical way, probably to motivate the ridiculously high cost. Still didn’t even end up with a quote since they don’t email them! “It’s just the way we do things”, so frustrating. Also, and here’s the best part, they don’t continue with the “quote show” unless both the husband and wife (or whatever your partner arrangement is, although I doubt they would deal with anyone that isn’t “traditional” in the 1950’s sense of the word). At least we have a funny story to tell our friends. Avoid at all costs unless you have 3 hours spare for a good laugh, but have your favourite tipple handy to pass by the hours. Obviously didn’t go ahead with this company and nor should you.
they live in another world
dont know which world they live in
they ask me if i have family/partner? i told them them that my my family lives overseas and visit me sometime,
ecostar says even your family do not live but still u need to bring them here when we come for measurements and quote
unbelievable that it can happen in Australia
when i ask why its so important they answer its company policy (didn't tell what logic/reason behing even i asked)
Nice product but not as effective as promised and poor follow up
We had five windows and our front door replaced by Ecostar last year. We live on a busy main road and were purely after noise reduction. The noise reduction is much less than expected. I have spoken to Ecostar several times and they have promised to send out someone to follow it up. Instead they sent a salesman who then said he'd organise someone to follow it up. I haven't heard from them.
The follow up to this post was someone in their office telling me the problem is not their product - it's my walls and roof. Their product is 'tested'. There must be a problem with the insulation in my walls and roof. I wish they'd asked me to check that before I spent a fortune on windows.
Expensive windows with terrible customer service.
Not sure where to start with these guys.. Windows are super expensive! The quotation lasts a couple of hours which seems fine, then the sales pitch comes. $70k to replace all windows in our 3 bedroom home.
Stupidly we went with ecostar for our windows in our new extension.
We found them difficult to deal with and were not happy at all with the finish of the windows. They look cheap and tacky, especially given we spent $18k on seven windows.
The installers smashed one of our doors onsite and we were told by ecostar that if we bought the rest of the $70k worth of windows through them theyd give us $500 off toward them.
Avoid these guys!!

I am only interested in noise reduction as I live on a busy road. Could you provide the RW rating of your various products?

How much does a standard room window cost?
Ni Idea Bernard. I didn't buy the windows.
There are no standard room windows. All Ecostar double glazed windows are individually made to measure for maximum thermal efficiency and noise reduction. The price for the window depends on your choice of design, opening option, double glazed unit spec, colour and much more. That is why we offer free quotations in the comfort of your own home. When you have made your choices, we will leave you with an itemised quotation there and then. To arrange a free quote, call 1300 ECOSTAR.
