Hi. I like to advise you not to buy windows from ecostar.
Maybe the windows do their jib, but the silicone is not paintable, which gives a terrible look.
They do not bother about it, because they have the money.
Take also care about the prize.
You get so called rebates, but it is still very, very expensive.
And then the job is done badly!!!!
I ho0e the message is clear.
Will the product live up to the sales pitch
Just had the 2 hour sales pitch with Kevin, I was actually quite impressed with the way Kevin went about the process. Everything was covered well, and although the initial quote was way over my budget and expectations, Kevin was able to get me an acceptable price in the end, so I was happy to sign up.
Now the long wait to see if the product is as good as it sounds.
ECO STAR Sales Process
A pleasant informative process. Product is good and suitable for the Australian climate. MY first quote and Rob is very patient and explained the product well.
Great product but very expensive
Had salesman last night come and show us the product. Seems like a very good product keeping the warm in and heat out , and the burgers at bay . I have to say after for listening for about 2 hours I was a bit shocked at the high cost for the product . For the average people with medium income this product is an achievable snd not suited to the medium wage earners . Unfortunately way too expensive for us .
Great salesmanship, lousy product.
Purchased windows for the front of our house to try and reduce traffic noise. After waiting four months from the date of purchase, the windows were finally installed after a number of cancellations. They appeared to help with the noise initially, but then we realized that it was a false sensation. The claims of 90% reduction in noise are grossly exaggerated, 9% would be closer to the truth. As others have stated, their after sales service is virtually non-existent.
definitely would suggest looking elsewhere for windows.
Terrible after sales service
Very strong sales tactics, but terrible after sales service. After paying a 10% deposit six weeks ago I still have not been able to get in contact with [name removed] for a site survey after numerous promises that contact would be made. Very disappointed.
Appalling Sales techniques, very expensive compared to competitors
2 hour at home consultation, too much blinding with science, and trumpet blowing about how wonderful they are, followed by the old, if you sign up today I am authorised to give you a discount routine. We honestly thought this form of selling went out with the ark. Prices from competitors are literally one third of what ecostar quote. For exactly the same product.
customer service staff pushy
We didn't even get as far as getting a quote as after organising a time, going through 10 minutes of way too many questions to only have the same questions asked AND more over the phone when doing a confirmation call was a waste of time. All we wanted was a quote. It did not require both adults home, it did not require intimate knowledge of the rest of the house, it did not require answering the same long set of pointless questions twice. It is a replacement window. The most irritating sales people I've ever encountered. No business from us.
Window frame made too narrow!
The brand new Venetian blind purchased just before the window install no longer fits in my window as the frame was made too narrow! No response/reply upon lodging a complaint with Ecostar, my emails were simply ignored. I now have to purchase a new blind at my expense and bin a totally brand new blind that was custom made for my window. Not happy at all.
Terrible Sales Tactics
High pressure sales tactics
Manipulative marketing with continual call backs
Witnessed salespeople being manipulative towards pensioners
Will quote an incredibly high price and come down from there.
A top quality product and team
The quality of the product is excellent and the staff are skilled and knowledgeable on their product. We have identified a few very minor things missed during the installation and the company has been very responsive in following up to correct matters. Mike and his team were really efficient and tidy during the install. Ecostar isn't the cheapest supplier, but the professionalism you get from the team is a welcome relief to other builders we've dealt with. If you prefer to have a few quotes and products to compare, I recommend talking to other supplier first before calling in Ecostar for a consultation.
Sad that the windows are in our house
1. Sales man arrives we organise a new door (old window to new door) and window. Window is meant to open for "bar" effect - no bracing down the middle. The high pressure sales tactics used.
2. Date for install is delayed by a couple of days - no problem
3. Installers arrive on original date so old window still in place and builder who was going to come and knock out new door way for us not there.
4. Husband removes window and bricks to make new door way so process can continue.
5. Window is nothing like we wanted - casement window insta...
Damage caused during installation on two occasions
This a terrible company to deal with. Staff attended for installation on two occasions and on the first occasion, damaged a bench and on the second occasion, caused chipping near a table. It took almost one year to resolve the whole incident, during which WE the customer had to find a company that was able to do the repair. A combination of poor handover, someone losing the file, lack of continuity and matter being hand balled from one person to another without any updates to us in between, in the end we got so sick of it we asked for just the ...repair quote amount to be paid to us in lieu of the repairs being done. The company refused, even though it was fair, supported by a quote and would have finally resolved the matter because we were so sick of dealing with them. The first lot of damage was finally repaired, but they couldn't even find a company to repair the second set of damage. Terrible customer service.
felt manipulated by high pressure sales tactics
Our experience reflects that of other reviewers: there is an overly extensive sales pitch followed by a high quote and several, often steep, discounts, especially the one offered when they talk to their (alleged) boss on speaker phone. Unfortunately, at that point they had lost all our trust. We had made it very clear that we were just after a quote, and we didn't appreciate the transparent attempts to get us to sign on the dotted line. We also did not appreciate the extended advertising, which took up a lot of the time before they even got aro...und to taking measurements, and continued while they were generating the quote. This undesired advertising is the reason they ask customers to schedule two hours for the consultation, which actually lasted for nearly 3 hours in our case. They may have a good product but the sales approach was a major turn-off.
Way over priced and bullying sales tactics.
Don’t ever get ecostar double glazing in to quote. Not only are they extremely over priced but the guy will spend 2 hours at your house then ring his boss only to have them both place the hard sell and pressure the hell out of you for a sale.
2 windows 1 front door and 2 sliding doors $36,000!! I don’t think so.
The more you say no and I’ll think about it there more they place the hard sell and give you better price.
I found it extremely rude that your sales guy would call his boss and sit on the phone trying to convince me by talking abou...
Poor customer service.
Gave my number to Ecostar at the Home show and was told I would be able to talk to someone about getting a rough quote for 2 windows.
Ecostar will call you daily until you answer.
Ended up wasting my time with this company.
Very unhelpful sales representative. She was unable to give me a straight answer, refusing to provide a rough quote. When I challenged this she then changed her story and told me I couldn't have double glazing due to my window type however other companies say this is possible.
Very disappointed - Sales pressure was way too high
We called them out for a quote and to their credit they came very quickly (only a day or two later). BUT....
Their sales people (although they have a different, fancier name than that) are true, old school, sales people. They can't give you a price without a two hour spiel about their company, they can't email you a price (why in 2017 can't they email....)? So we sat through a two hour lecture and get this "if you sign up today we will take $4k off the price. But we don't use pressure tactics"... seriously!
To balance this review, their prod...
After giving calling to ask where I could view their product, I was pushed into having someone come out to quote (because they couldn't possibly give me a rough idea of cost) and then after giving all my personal information over, was told that they wouldn't come unless my husband was present.
We live in 2017 - where women can make decisions about spending money without permission from their husband. What gives them the right to think they can tell us how to make decisions in our family?
The reason they gave was that in the past when one h...omeowner makes a decision and the other doesn't like it they don't get paid.... and that they can't afford to do multiple visits - fine - I didn't want a visit in the first place. I have never come across this before but have since been advised that it's a common characteristic of a pushy sales model where they want to lock you in to a decision in one visit. They were so unmoving on this that I had to give up in the end - their loss. I was getting quotes on a couple of windows for now but looking for an option for our reno next year - no chance ecostar. In the end they said I could visit their showroom - no thanks. not after that experience.
Unprofessional and spam callers
Have been receiving multiple calls from this company for MONTHS after finally having enough I had to google the number to find out what it was. Gave a 1 star rating on their social media page (without comment) only to receive a ridiculous comment back about me being 'unfair' and that they had removed me from their call list (about time!) I was then promptly banned from the page, so i'll post my reply here shall I?
1. Just goes to show how many times you have called me if you knew exactly why I had bothered to find your business and give a b...ad rating, and you know it 2. I'm on the do not call register, how you got my number is beyond me (I actually don't care how you got it but you should have systems in place to not call those on the do not call register) perhaps go back to the 'legitimate list with details of free Double Glazing' to clarify that, i've never looked into double glazing. 3. You may want to give your own number a google, there are more bad reviews about harassing phone calls from your staff than I cared to read. 4. Banning me from your social media page so I couldn't respond to your rude response is just childish, owning up to your spammy marketing tactics (if that's how you wish to do business) is the adult thing to do. I'd never heard of this business before being inundated with unsolicited calls for months, fair to say i'll be advising any friends or family who were looking into double glazing to stay far away.
Dodgy sales practices
I really didn't appreciate the hard core sales tactics these guys use. At your house for hours, won't leave without making you endure a long winded spiel, then hit you with the "massive discount but you must pay a deposit right now" tactic. I got three quotes from three window companies - these were the most expensive and the least visually appealing.
Be careful with this company
We requested a quote from them 2-3 years ago. The person who came, identified himself as the director ([name removed]) and similar to many other comments before, I thought the sales pitch was smooth but hard, and it didn't sit well with both my husband and I. We were quoted more than $30,000 for our small 3Br home. We had other quotes, including those with U.K. imported windows which were much less.
We were pressed to decide on the same day to get a big discount (alarm bells went off for us then). When we didn't, we were offered another disco...
Never share your number with these guys
If you are ever to get a quote from ecostar double glazing, block you number and call them, never ever share your number with this company. They are an absolute nuisance, will make you a sales call every month though you tell them you are not interested. Your number goes into their database and stays there for life.
Road noise tough luck
I had three double glazed windows installed on my 1920's Victorian weatherboard bungalow (around AUD$9K). The purpose was to block out the road noise as the house is situated on a main road. Sadly I was promised too much by the salesman (block out 80% noise). I already had add-on double glazing and it turns out this existing window solution was far superior to the eco-star product. I think the problem came about because the window was measured much smaller than the window cavity leaving a significant gap at installation that was filled with wat...erproof foam with no sound-reducing/acoustic properties at all. Because they use waterproof foam they said they did not need to use flashing either. When I contacted eco star someone came out and in addition to the road noise they could hear vibration from the windows but no solution was offered instead they said there was nothing wrong with this result. I also experienced issues with the 'stained glass' options, they said it was too expensive for them to provide stained glass samples, instead the colour had to be selected from a photocopied page. They don't use real stained glass it is a coloured gel sheet heated on and this also is not mentioned until the contract is signed. I regret replacing my original double hung stained glass hardwood windows and hope others will not make the same mistake I did.
Very good indeed
Good presentation from the sales guy, then great fitting from hard working traders. The windows are superb, look good, warm now in the house and can't hear that bloody noise from the road.
These guys are good, no regrets, and will use them again to finish the back rooms when saved up a bit
Good service Ecoboys and especially to Abby for good advice.
This is a very bad experience in my life.
There sales person is very good and show his patient. Be ware, after you pay the deposit you will realize things totally different. [name removed] always lost her memory, she help you book the date and remember nothing after two days. On the installation day, they late for 2 hours, with boots on my carpet, take another 4 hours to install one window. Inside the room, one edge is left in blue. My whole family very upset.
