Terrible customer service

Product is good but customer service is very very poor. I had some issue with my 1 and half year old Ecovac and they said it’s under warranty so I had sent it back. Their repair centre has replaced front part with someone else’s older part. So from backside it looks new and from front sire bumper looks very old. I have reached out to them as soon as I received a product back. I made so many calls and they couldn’t resolve the issue and offering me a brush as compensation which was not acceptable. Now they are asking me to pay the cost of replacement of front part. Show details

Do not buy!

Do not buy this. Its not worth the money or stress.
The map barely works. Its so bad at putting itself back on the charger/emptying bin. After less than a year the recharging dock broke. Because its so bad at putting itself on the emptying bin, the emptying bin you paid extra for may i add! you now physically have to empty the bin. It never loads properly on my phone, you physically have to press the button on the vacuum. The vacc now randomly stops working at 50% battery. I clean this at least once a week! And the brushes daily! I have had this product for 2yrs 2months. A huge waste of money! Huge Show details

Don't buy ECOVAC brand. It will cause you grief

They are great at first then they consistently lose their maps and it becomes useless. This my second machine the first one did the same.. LOSES ITS MAPS. you spend days letting it map the first time and then setting up walls, so it doesn't go into bathrooms, virtual boxes around other things. Then after about 6 months it suddenly can't locate itself or it gets stuck somewhere and you have to retrieve it and put it back on the charger and BOOM map is gone.. NO FIX FROM ECOVAC. They are also extremely aggressive on cables and rug edges hence needing to put virtual walls around anything sensitive. Would not buy again and cannot recommend while the stupid map issue is not resolvable. Show details

Reliable and effective

We had this for 18 months running twice daily in a large house (all hard floors) with three dogs and it was amazing. Could map upstairs and downstairs and was generally reliable. Everyone so often it would lose the map but could do a reset without remapping the house again and it kept going. After 18 months got a drive wheel error and we replaced it under extended warranty for the same unit. Show details

Main brush motor seized just out of warranty (1 year)

Seemed good at first and got worse as time went on. Bought on June 2022 and then Jan 2024 the main brush motor seized. I called customer support and they knew the issue within seconds so it obviously happens often. They were quick to let me know they only offer 1 year warranty and it would cost 200 to fix. Its now in the bin, I saw various YouTube videos trying to fix the same issue so it must be pretty common. Save your money on this one. Show details

Do not recommend

The amount of mapping issues this vacuum has is ridiculous. Setting up the initial map is tedious and doesn’t always complete so has to be redone from the start, and then once the map is created the issues continue. Starting a map over the top of the new map, deleting the map if the power goes out, deleting the map for no apparent reason. There is a function to save your map which seems useless because if the map stuffs up you are not able to go to your saved map and simply restore it. You have to start the whole remapping process again. If I had any idea of all the issues the map system would cause I would never have purchased this vacuum. Show details

Has made life a lot easier!

We got a new puppy recently and she sheds a lot of hair. Manually vaccuming everyday wasn’t going to cut it so decided to invest in this robot vaccuum. Very happy with how it works and the map of the house function.

Only negative is that sometimes it loses it map or places the dock somewhere on the map we’re it isn’t. This means I have to remap the whole house which is a pain.

Will definitely upgrade to a more advanced model when this one dies. Show details

A must have

I feel everyone should have this but for working moms this is a blessing in disguise. Easy to run Ecovac even from the office using its app and you are welcomed back home to a clean house. How wonderful is that! Show details

Questions & Answers

Dave
Dave

My holiday home has three linoleum areas separated by a carpeted hallway, and a carpeted lounge and bedrooms.
Can these bots be left unattended to do both functions or is an either/or config?
Do they empty into a bin at the recharge station or is the capacity limited to whatever is onboard the bot?

Any feedback on how the N8 handles pet hair, specifically golden retriever dog

puma

I don't have a dog, but my sister had a robot vac and I saw it pick up golden retriever hair successfully and my son in law has a n8 and 2 dogs and a cat and no problems, hope this helps.

Please could you tell me the difference between the N8 and the T9? Thankyou
