Terrible programming app and waste of money

Terrible programming application and customer service - waste of money. Within a few months it was sent back as it was not following mapping. It is supposed to be intelligent and avoid items which it doesn't, I've had my toes run over many times! Spent time to Ecovacs Customer service but it still does its own thing. Sent back 2 other times but never fixed. Warning, buy from a Retailer and it is their problem. Great for us as it was Godfrey's who are out of business. Ecovacs won't help unless we pay for them to look at it and then quote. This product is a total lemon. It is going to landfill, save your $1000. Show details

Repair support terrible

The vacuum is great for a quick daily clean. Over time the battery stops holding charge. It is not something you can change yourself. I contacted evovacs for details on where to ho gor repairs. They refuse to help without proof of purchase. I've had the vacuum 3 years, I know its out of warranty. I just want the name of a repairer. You'd think I was asking them for the winning lotto numbers. Don't buy if you expect even a basic level ox repsir/service assistance. Show details

Great when you're being lazy

You need to gothrough your home and pick up all mats etc which may get in it's way. It does not fir under our couches, coffee tables, tv units etc. It's round....doesn't do corners. Clogs up quick if you have pets. Show details

Unable to locate. Starting new cleaning cycle

This isn't specific to the T9+. We have two models of ecovacs and they're both the same.
The hardware is okay, but the software is Chinese garbage. Unfortunately, a robot vacuum relies on working software, and Ecovacs lack of investment in competent programmers means they sell a downright awful product.

If you want a noisy and slow robotic vacuum that obliterates your stored map every second use, and goes into all the areas you've meticulously blocked off, this is the brand for you.

I'd recommend ECOVACs to any of my enemies. Show details

Will never buy Ecovacs again

We bought the T9 after we got our money back for issues with the T8. For the first year or so it worked great. It is great having a unit that vacuums and mops. Now it is constantly having issues. It continues to loose the map and whenever a new one is made it is worse and worse. It constantly goes inside areas you've blocked out on the map. It gets lost and struggles to locate itself. It has been repaired under warranty for issues with the drive wheels. Will be going with another brand once I throw this one in the bin. Show details

Unreliable, time wasting, product with shocking support

I have had innumerable problems with getting my deebot to create and retain a map of my house. I have found the use interface both complex and inadequate (despite a degree in computer science from ANU) and the support totally inadequate. I've now given up on using the mapping functions and now use it in a totally simplistic fashion - I could have got that level of functionally for half the price from a competitor and saved myself enormous irritation. Show details

Life Saver! Not sure what I would do without this device in my life

The downstairs of our house is all polished concrete and we have our Deebot running everyday, it keeps our floors squeaky clean. Such a pleasure to walk on, or even slide on! So glad I made this purchase, family and friends visiting have also been super impressed with how easy it is to keep our floors clean. The mop function which we were sceptical of is also amazing. And the auto-emptying dust bin is an added bonus. It is slightly noisy and may bother some people, but you could have it running when you're not home. Show details

Works well on tile and timber floors

We have had the Deebot T9+ for about 10 months and use it weekly in a (no pet) home with tile and timber flooring and a few scattered rugs. It was initially a bit difficult to map out the house but is now working well with its vac and mopping functions. We have a 5 bedroom / two living area home on one level. The T9+ it will vacuum on one charge but requires full charging before operating the mop function. I particularly like the custom function where we can nominate areas to vacuum or mop. The only downside it that it can't get right into corners. Show details

I cannot live without it

I used this vacuum once sometimes twice a day, it cleans my whole house with ease. Only down fall is it won’t go into my bathrooms or laundry due to a step up and sometimes gets caught on mats. Other than that it is a life changer and I barely use my Dyson now.

Poor quality accessories, poor service

The mop failed after 12 months, with the plastic parts just crumbling from once a week usage. Ecovacs provided a replacement, which failed within 10 months, after using only once per week. The quality of their products is very low, and their support is broken english. Their response has been "just purchase another one". Buyer beware, not a company that wants to make products to last, they are happy to see them fail after 12 months so you buy another one. They also state "Our warranty policy only refers to the machine and does not include individual accessories. Moreover, your machine has already been out of warranty. If you need a water tank, you need to pay for it.", not sure they even understand australian consumer law. Show details

Hi we have constructed a new house and have laminated floors in the hallway kitchen and lounge but carpets in the rooms. I am planning to buy the DEEBOT T9+ robot vacuum and mop but stressed that the floors would be damaged if the mop is way too wet.

I don’t even use the mop. Not because it’s too wet but because it does such a poor job of cleaning. I just use mine to take the weight off vacuuming having inside dogs. As above, go with another better robovac

I would have to disagree as my ecovac T9+ mopping function is amazing. We have hard wood floors. No need to pay a cleaner ever again

Features:

  • The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ Robot Vacuum Cleaner has a powerful suction and a 19,000rpm motor that can get into crevices to remove dust and bacteria.
  • It has intelligent sensors that avoid obstacles such as wires, slippers, and other small objects that can get in the way, reducing the chance of it getting tangled, stuck, or not cleaning properly.
  • The robot vacuum has multi-floor mapping technology that scans large and complex environments and figures out the most efficient route to take.
  • An air freshener capsule covers up musty smells and lingering pet odours in your home.
  • You can use this to clean tile, marble, and wooden floors, as well as carpet with a wool length of less than 1.5cm.

Points of praise:

  • Most reviewers found that this robot vacuum cleaner cleaned their carpets and mopped their floors perfectly. One user said that their carpets had never been cleaner than when using the vacuum.
  • Reviewers also appreciated how well the vacuum mapped out its route, saying that it would go over areas with heavy foot traffic more often, and would effectively avoid obstacles.

A point of pain:

  • Some reviewers said that the vacuum didn’t always empty its contents properly, with some of the dust and debris collected remaining in the unit.
