So, like many people I subscribed to their service for a given amount of time and was caught by their shady auto-renew feature. No warning and no room for recourse. They do not make cancelling and communicating with them easy at all! I was charged $550 when my initial subscription was a fraction of that. I disputed this and was “lucky” enough to get a 50% refund and my subscription halved. However, the refunded amount was later withdrawn again! I couldn’t even write to them as I had to put new billing details in. Then, they charged me a further...sum of money on that card too! I do not trust these guys with my details at all! Still waiting for a response. I just want the account cancelled and all my money back. It is unfair and wrong how they trap people. The service they provide does not reflect how they market themselves. You are better off using a site that is free. I recommend all that have been unfairly billed by these guys make complaints to the ACCC, Fair Trading and the Ombudsman. Update: After disputing the further debits, they have refunded me all additional amounts and set my account back to basic. I did file a dispute form with my bank and they have helped follow some of it up. So, it looks as though I have been refunded all my money. I’ll wait and see if it comes through though! Do not back off. Call thus number everyday if you need to: 1800 623 801 (US Timezone). If you feel they have done you wrong, keep at them. Until we get better laws in Australia that protect customers from practices like these, we need to highlight the shady business practices of companies like these. Best of luck.
I would give it zero it this were an option
Terrible site and falsely advertised . The majority of my matches had no photo which makes it very difficult to engage as a profile photo is a absolute must in my view . I used a few dating sites simultaneously and this one really is by far the worst , nothing came out of it .
Absolute rubbish. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
eHarmony takes money on the pretense that they are offering a premium dating service. Nothing could be further from the truth. On a daily basis, with supposedly 16 profiles to a page and with my preferences set to the whole of Australia, I would be offered just three with a photograph. I would not be interested in approaching someone who does not have a profile photograph, so this made for very slim pickings indeed. The quality of the photographs was often shocking. (I have included an example whereby a man has his hand on a child's crutch...and doesn't even show his head!?! This after photographs are supposed to be "passed" by eHarmony's scrutiny?). When I changed my settings to NSW only, it was no better. The quality of the profiles that did actually include a photograph was often frightening and certainly nobody I would want to chat with, much less meet. I asked for my contract to be terminated and was sent back a very standard reply, not acknowledging any of the points I made in my email. I wrote again and received the same standard, cut and paste response. Both times they refused to end my contract. I have now cancelled payments through Paypal after having two months deducted. I haven't even had a conversation with a "match" much less a date. It is a simple case of them taking money for a service they simply don't offer. There is much more to be said for other dating sites, even the free ones. My strong advice is to avoid eHarmony (as another unfortunate customer wrote) like Coronavirus.

Eharmony is such a rip off and misleading in the way they bill/advertise.
Eharmony is such a rip off and misleading in the way they bill/advertise. Have asked to cancel and no response. Have sent another email asking about an unexpected charge by them and still no response. My bank suggested to cancel my credit card to stop further deductions. My bank will dispute the unexpected charges. Wish I'd seen the reviews before subscribing.
eHarmony is Awful: Disgusting, Horrible 'Date' Experience!
I still feel like my skin is crawling as I write this review...
1). My first problem was that I'm bisexual and I wanted to be able to see both male and female matches. I had to start a new email account and have two profiles to be able to access both male and female profiles - this is not a LGBTIQ+ friendly platform...
I wanted to leave the contract. I was told I could not exit the contract. If only I had pushed harder to end my contract at that point...
2). I didn't realise that literally NONE of the male matches recommended to me where 'v...erified' accounts. This means that the uses had registered their photographic IDs with their account. 3). I stupidly got into a terrible situation where by I was talked into sending intimate images to a fella I'd been chatting to for a period of time. We agreed that we where both giving active consent before we engaged in intimate talk and sent each other images. So far so good. I became suspicious of his motives almost as soon as I'd sent him 2 images via wattsapp. He kept pushing me to send him pics to his specifications. I said "no." Then I asked him if I could call him. He said it would wake his parents, who where staying. I realised I didn't know this guy's full name - I asked him for his surname. He refused to tell me! So he was fine to ask for pics of my c**t, but I wasn't to have his last name? Just wow.
Avoid, like coronavirus.
I was drawn to the expectation of a reputable platform, you can receive better 'compatible' experiences for free from tinder! Fraudulent, continueing to charge me for a service I cancelled as per their conditions. The platform should be shut down. I take all reviews with a grain of salt but I seriously suggest to others be cautious when considering Eharmony.
Wish I could do no stars = worst experience
I came to eHarmony BELIEVING if I paid to help find my ideal matches (potential partner) it would happen. With all their "algorithm's" etc which they "supposedly" have. They are nothing but scam artists, and want nothing more to get your money. I have contacted them numerous times wishing to cancel my subscription due to being in stage 4 restrictions and not being able to (in effect) use the service which I'm paying for. They're refusing to do this. I am now in contact with ACCC and consumer affairs. There's no new matches heaps of scam profiles. You don't always get what you pay for. DO NOT JOIN!
Beware - Once you join you are trapped into unfair costs.
I joined this site 8 years ago and it was really good.
I joined again now but wasn't happy so I tried to get a refund straight away but was refused.
What happened to the cooling off period?
Beware, they are an overseas company and don't real care about you.
They take money off you and offer you no means of being able to get it back.

This is the worst dating site I have used. An absolute rip off and scam! I wish I had read the reviews first. I joined this site based on their adverising, hoping to meet a quality man. I cannot believe a paid site allows matched profiles to have no photo, which is about half of them. For safety reasons, what woman would contact an unknown man. This also encourages shady people and cheaters who can afford the fees. Incomplete profiles and bad matches render the process useless. There is not an option to do your own search if you do not like t...heir matches. I have joined a free site now with much better options. eHarmony is about scamming your money for a minimum 6 months and nothing else. I provided feedback to harmony but do not have any hope for a refund. I will warn everyone I know now.

They charged me $179 and It says clear on their website I can cancel within 3 days now they saying they will never refund
anything THIS IS SO SO UNFAIR !!!! People in that website looking like prisoners I’m just so shocked how they are dealing with their customers asking them for money back
Only creeps on their website and customer care refuse to refund me and I emailed them very first day !!!
I’m taking legal actions as it is illegal not to refund me if the policy clearly says FULL REFUND WITHIN 3 days

Do not get trapped on this app like me!
Before signing up and paying such huge amount of money for this app, I had heard good reviews and I thought I give it a shot and see, maybe there will be more serious guys in here and I couldn't be any more wrong in my judgment!!!
- There are not many guys available in this app because it is expensive
- The ones which are available are not any better that the ones who are in free dating apps, oh and to be fair, let me tell you, the guys in free apps are even more fun and entertaining.
- There are so many profiles of guys without even a single ...

Misleading and Deceptive
Signed up for a six month plan. Then at some point, without my knowledge they switched me to a twelve month plan. So when auto-renewal came around they charged me double. Terrible behaviour. Will be going out of my way to make sure nobody I know ever uses this service.
I have been trying to cancel my account for a few months as I met someone that had no association with them. Unfortunately I either have to pay the full outstanding amount or continue paying the monthly fee. They will not allow you to do a payment plan. Staff are not helpful and totally rude
Don't waste your money on this website!
The free trial takes so much time to setup only to find out you have to pay for a subscription to use it really. I reluctantly subscribed as they advertise as a "premium service" with a scientific way of matching people and a place for executives etc. I gave it a really good go and went through all matches however i only had around 15 within 20kms of me and same for within 50kms. I had absolutely no ongoing chats or any outcomes and when i contacted me they basically said you have a contract, too bad so sad! Please dont waste your time with this despicable company! Lost a large amount of money and got nothing for it.
This company is unscrupulous, sneaky and shameless.
After signing up for 6 months (there are few options), I used the services of eharmony for about two months, then deactivated my profile. I should have deleted it! 6 months from my initial sign up, without out any sort of warning or reminder notice, they slugged me with $598 for a 12 month "subscription renewal". Obviously if eharmony had sent a reminder email a week or two in advance, as any reputable company would do, then I would have cancelled everything right away. But they know many people would cancel so they choose to be sneaky and unsc...rupulous. I contacted eharmony straight away and protested this underhanded act, asking for the swindled funds to be returned. They just referred me to their "terms and conditions". After further protests they refunded half of what they charged. After reading some of the other reviews here, I should perhaps count myself lucky! But this is still $299 for services not rendered, not requested, and not required for the foreseeable future. Ripped off!
Free trial just cruel
The "14 days free trial" gives you the ability to spend ages making a profile. Then when any match contacts you, you can't see their photo, and you get to say "Hi" back........and that's it. They reply and you have to pay to continue the conversation. How horrible. It's hard enough to do this already without seeming to be ignored by someone you reach out to. Shame on you eHarmony
Questions & Answers
I was sucked into a 2 year contract and paying monthly. I emailed them back about the subscription to cancel within 30 minutes of subscribing. They responded and denied the request and told me to refer to the Ts and Cs, which clearly states a 3 day refund. I emailed them back to only receive the same "bot like" email. Now they don't reply to my emails anymore. I have contacted PayPal about the issue and they are unable to cancel the recurring payments. However, I am wanting to cancel and request a new bank card from my bank so they can't take anymore money, has anyone done this before and has it caused any issues with eHarmony or the bank?
Would love to hear back or other possible solutions!
Why can't I c my messages even though I have spent over $200 on this site for the first time ???
If you signed up to the contract can they take it further if you don't pay?
I’m not sure. I would assume they will just keep trying to take it out of your bank account until the full amount is paid.
I have previously signed up and deleted my account within 30 minutes and they refused to refund me even though there policy states that they would.
I would honestly just avoid unless you can get a free trial
I got sucked into the 2 year contract but I cancelled my debit card so they would stop taking money out but I told them to turn off the auto renewal subscription just wondering if they would take it further if I didnt pay
