Free trial just cruel
The "14 days free trial" gives you the ability to spend ages making a profile. Then when any match contacts you, you can't see their photo, and you get to say "Hi" back........and that's it. They reply and you have to pay to continue the conversation. How horrible. It's hard enough to do this already without seeming to be ignored by someone you reach out to. Shame on you eHarmony
Worst dating site of all
I joined eharmony as it was rumoured to be full of "higher quality" people who could be bothered to take the time to fill out the questionnaire. While that may be true, the vast majority of users barely fill out their profile and many don't upload pics. The subscription is extremely expensive and in no way, shape or form worth it. You can't cancel early so it's buyer beware. All the other free dating apps offer far better experiences, better people, more connections, etc. I haven't had a single chat from it as almost noone is really active, and there are very few white collar professional men on there (which is allegedly where they go to seriously date, though I see no evidence of this).
Absolute waste of money SCAM
Do not trust this dating site/app. They will take your money, offer no refund and mislead you at the beginning to sign up to their premium subscription service in the hope you find love and also have no compassion or sympathy for your well being if you can’t pay, it’s pay up and shut up no matter what but we will offer is to kindly “pause” your subscription for 6 months, only if you email them back or offer to allow you to transfer your eHarmony account to a friend or family member. Does anyone have a spare $550.80 to take over an account and u...se it as their own, I don’t think so? I remember reading somewhere they offer their high prices because people who are willing to find “true love” will pay high prices if they are truly seeking love, that statement is a joke all on its own. It’s all a money making scheme and I was a fool to believe it There are no warnings, no emails to state my 6 months premium was coming to an end, no choice to choose if I have changed my mind or wanted to continue another 6 months, they will withdraw the cash anyway as it’s in their T&Cs which I agreed to when I signed up, so basically it’s suck it up and pay. My theory is they aren’t willing to email or remind their customers about their subscriptions as they’ll lose too much money. It’s all a big elaborate scam to make money on their terms only I signed up back in January 2020 the matches suddenly decreased by half. I paid over $100 to basically be mislead. I decided to log into my account a few months later and cancel my subscription, as a user what you don’t realise is you haven't really canceled at all unless you email them. Even though your physical profile indicates it’s been canceled, you haven’t, you must email them with a code word that’s “linked” to your account, this is a “security” feature to stop misuse of profiles, no, I believe eHarmony clearly does get some sort of notification that their users have canceled but as a dating service they know people will unknowingly believe they’ve canceled so let’s withdraw a large sum of money, in a panic you email them to state you have already cancelled, when they originally thought they did, and under OUR terms we cannot refund so we make money as the customer made an error which we are aware of, so we sit back and laugh at how much money we scammed out of another eHarmony customer. Very clever aren’t they When I believed my subscription was coming to an end, I began to notice I was being inundated with messages from people overseas, isn’t it eharmony Australia not eharmony Philippines or USA when I have made the choice to choose my own search criteria to search between 0-200km radius only. How can someone over 10,000 kms away match with you when I set my search to a specific radius, within my country only? Probably came down to all the surveys I was being sent during my subscription to give them feedback. I kept stating in the surveys there was a lack of matches, now I’m suddenly being matched with overseas people. Not all were genuine people. It’s not my job to report these profiles, if it’s such a highly sort after dating site with high prices, why don’t they have tighter security measures when users sign up, oh that’s right they would rather scam real people out of their money instead When complaining about the high charge and demanding a refund, which you won’t get so don’t bother asking, they stated, we see you’ve cancelled your subscription so they have a record it’s cancelled even before you email them with your unique “code”. It’s misleading because they have a manipulative and cunning way to cover their actions My word of advice for anyone who is going to sign up to eHarmony, DON’T DO IT, if you do plan to keep a close eye on your profile and transactions, but to be honest don’t sign up at all like I did as you’ll be out of pocket hundreds or maybe thousands of dollars, but they have your best interest at heart when it comes to finding love pfffft yeah right, I wished I read these reviews before I signed up because I would’ve realised what a fool I was to believe I would find love through a dating site that charges high prices for no results and continues to to this day scamming and misleading people
Would give it 0 stars if I could
This would have to be the worst dating site ever created. Although they offer a free service it is useless as you can't view any photos.
So to get any use from this service you need to subscribe. They are on the pricy side but offer this difference of a comparability report. Well that in itself is a joke as you are limited to choose one of their answers which even if none suit you you have no choice but to select one. This in itself will make your so-called matches incorrect.
The way it works is really awful too. If someone just likes a photo o...
Eharmony don't bother with it.
e-harmony is a waste of time, expensive monthly fees & it has a few people signed up too it most are golden oldies in their 50 and 60's. The sign up process takes 30 mins and they want to know too much personal info that is more marketing purposes than for relationship purposes.
Conclusion: date waste your time or money...………..
Warning - low members, And when you cancel subscription, don’t forget to cancel automatic renewal!
Low members to see.
After canceling a 6 month subscription after 2 months - they automatically charged me for 12 months on the premium subscription. I’m sure I canceled the automatic renewal - but they said I hadn’t.
Great, NOT - I met someone only still to be on the sight, this is not good.
You may think you've cancelled by it's a fake workflow
I was on this app for about a year. The matches trickled in a few a day, so I just couldn't justify the monthly subscription. They have a workflow to cancel where you click a page, then select why you want to leave, then confirm, then you get to a thank you page. Then in fine print it tells you that you need to contact them in writing to cancel your subscription. So you just go about your every day life thinking you've cancelled when they are still taking your money. Even the app says 'restore subscription' in the settings so you think you've c...ancelled. In my opinion it is completely deliberate for the exact purpose of taking money. People go through a workflow, get a thank you so assume it's done. The workflow is fake, as it never successfully cancels a subscription. I'd avoid this site, not worth the money or trouble.
This platform is absolutely rubbish
The aim of joining a dating site is to find a date and when you pay, you expect that the platform would facilitate that. The app is buggy: you cannot see the pictures of your potential matches. They bring in handful of potential matches; these handful matches stays there forever, and almost never get refreshed. And customer care is awful. Avoid it like plague.
Scam system, they do not do refunds, be aware of automatic renewal, they got you signed up for subscription period they interested in, not the one you have chosen. I wasn't ready to pay $550 for nothing. Terrible customer service. There is a reason the site is rated so low, I should have read reviews before pay to scammers
Single star is also a waste that’s what I feel. They don’t deserve that. Beware of this site guys. It’s absolute scam. When I subscribe no customer service is provided and I was locked in 12 months contract. I found nothing in this site and felt waste of money. I decided not to continue further but I need to contact customer service for cancellation. They don’t provide any telephonic conversation except emails. They easily take off money for the service they don’t provide. I was advised that I need to pay the rest even after deletion of the profile. Never recommend to anyone. Beware of this people.
this is a scam to poeple and false advertising.
I decided to go on this site cause ny daughter daid to try.
But trusting a dating site is some thing will never do again.
I join and press wr9ng pricing an they took over $200 our of my account.. this was extremely upsetting..and they will not gove me any refund but not only this but ghey had no problems taking me of the site..but they won't help you wirh any tuoe of compromise..
after 2 days an X partner was still on this site after 7 years ...
he has been on a restraining order from 2 woman..for harassment .
this is a joke..
They do not have security checks on poeple.....this is a terrible dating site ..it should not be aloud tl be in business.
If I could give zero I would
I joined due to a promo, there are no means no filter who contacts you so found it useless for finding someone compatible. Then they automatically renewed my account with no notification and took $350 for something I've never used and refused to refund it. Would never recommend this website to anyone.
Unethical and dodgy!
I signed up under the impression I was being offered a 3 month trial at a discounted price that I could cancel anytime, nowhere on the application did it say that I was going to be locked into a 12 month contract and it was just a special price for the first 3 months. After a week I realised I didn’t like the site, the matches were s*** and had to email to request for my account to be closed, deleted etc. they said they could remove my account but I will still be charged for the next 12 months for something I won’t even be using! Totally dodgy and unethical. I received no emails telling me I was locked in for 12 months and nowhere in the description sign up was it made clear.
I can’t log onto the Australian site it keeps taking me straight to USA. T
They take my money instantly but I can’t log on and no answer to customer service emails I have tried at least 50 times to log in. Once in a while yo my surprise it actually happens but mostly it flicks me straight to USA site. Driving me crazy
Questions & Answers
I was sucked into a 2 year contract and paying monthly. I emailed them back about the subscription to cancel within 30 minutes of subscribing. They responded and denied the request and told me to refer to the Ts and Cs, which clearly states a 3 day refund. I emailed them back to only receive the same "bot like" email. Now they don't reply to my emails anymore. I have contacted PayPal about the issue and they are unable to cancel the recurring payments. However, I am wanting to cancel and request a new bank card from my bank so they can't take anymore money, has anyone done this before and has it caused any issues with eHarmony or the bank?
Would love to hear back or other possible solutions!
Why can't I c my messages even though I have spent over $200 on this site for the first time ???
