GAZZA

HI Ken...I have been crawling around under my van with a torch trying to get an answer for you. It appears that there are two floors ...front locker floor which is screwed in from underneath...and joins the main floor which is bolted to chassis. the jacks are bolted toside chassis and middle chassis and cannot move front floor. Can only sugest check scrws under front floor . By the way if you can find a improvment report I wrote to this site I sugested some easy benificial changes to the van one of which was strengthening gas bottle retension . Cheers GAZZA

no power going to the water pump pump is ok as I connected it to
a 12v battery fuse is ok
lindsay

GAZZA
GAZZA

Hi Lindsay k , I have not had this problem yet however, should it happen 1] check pump fuse located in locker beneath RH front seat. 2] If blown can be replaced . 3] fuses can blow because of major short or possible power surge. If major short I would contact a good caravan electrician unless obvious broken wire or disconection. In my opinion electrical problems unless very obvious are not worth risking your van for. I am having a factory tow bar system installed by VW on my new 2018 diesel Tiguan. I have a 2015 Elddis Affinity 554.

What is the ideal tow ball height for this combination?

GAZZA
GAZZA

Hi Pop....it is very hard to predict the tow ball height you might requirefor your vehicle. I found that the standard towing tougue on my D- max Isuzu was far too low so Ihad to purchase an adjustable tougue to bring my Affinity 554 up to correct towing level . I might add that this van tows differently to other vans that I have towed. At the moment the van seems to "kangaroo' more than other vans I think because no weight distribution Hitch is used. However Iam working on it !!! Cheers GAZZA

Where can l access spare parts for elldis affinity?

rosie girl

I think I already answered this question. From memory, Caravan Clinic at Gosford can order any parts required. The manufacturers of Elddis are in Brisbane

GAZZA

Hi Jan R.....I have had some success ordering spares from Ebay U.K. However an expensive process!!!! Some spares may be interchangable with other U.k. caravan makes that have been imported into AOZ.. May worth a try depending on spare.....Cheers GAZZA

Hello, please can someone confirm the overall towing weight (is this the ATM?) For the 2015 elddis affinity please? I am finding a big difference in the specs here and the UK specs so I am extremely confused. I am interested in a caravan for sale but unfortunately this may be the thing that prevents me buying it as I only have a 2l petrol Hyundai Tucson. Thanks in advance for any help!

Rosco
Rosco · Affinity

Never owned a van and have started looking around at under 2000 ATM models

Has anyone taken one out through NW NSW on the corrugated roads? Can they handle a day of shaking and the dust? What are they like on the tight winding roads of Tassie or the Great Ocean Road?

How do people find cooking inside as I haven't seen an exhaust fan and wonder if you end up with the furnishings smelling of what you have cooked?

How do they compare to Bailey, Adria, Jurgens and Swift?

GAZZA
GAZZA

Hi Rosco....I own a 2015 affiity 554. I would not tow my van all day down a corragated dusty road. If this is what you require I would purchase an " OFF ROAD" van , however it will be a lot heavier than 2000 ATM. my van has an internal touch control exhaust fan which is very efficient. As for towing , the van has Intelligent Drive Control which seems to work extremely well. I get a slight fishtail in strong side winds which seems to be common. If you can find my review you will find a number of helpfull additions I have made should you buy one of these vans.We have owned three vans but we think this one is the best as far as comfort and finish goes. CHEERS GAZZA

rosie girl
rosie girl

Hi Rosco...We own a Elddis Avante and would not take the van on to corrugated roads. It is too light. We are planning a trip to Adelaide in February down the Great Ocean Road. We think it will be fine. As mentioned by Gazza, you do have to be careful of these lightweight vans as in our case, the van fishtails at speed over 80 klm per hour. It is a lovely van shower/toilet and air con etc. Be careful even when you go on into unknown territory. Tom Tom could take you onto perilous roads. As happened to us on a country road, suddenly a sign 19 degree gradient, no time to stop. We screamed all the way down and up the other side. Thank goodness for the Volvo.

GAZZA
GAZZA

Hi Baz - After some research on Elddis Caravan Parts UK/Elddis the Caravan Panel Shop, it would be a very expensive exercise to import one from England. I doubt if one would be available in Australia. Your best option is to have it repaired by a fibreglass business, eg. boat repairs or car panel beater repairs if lid is not damaged too much. Sorry cannot help much more.

Cheers,

GAZZA.

Hi can any Elddis owners with dual axle caravans tell us how they tow any scrubbing out with tyres. Weve had a single axle Elddis and the left wheel scrubbed out no adjustment any comments appreciated

GAZZA
GAZZA

Hi Russell....sorry to read you are having scrubbing problems.I have seen very helpfull info on Euro vans on various UK sites.I have only towed my 2015 Elddis single axle [second hand] from Melboune to Adelaide, however on inspect. of my tyres at home I found that the both tyres are directional [marked by arrow]and had been placed on incorrect sides of van....so I switched them. Probably not your problem but who nos might contribute. Will put in report on some useful alterations I have made to my Van down the track a bit ....hope you are interested Cheers GAZZA

Philip
Philip

Hi Russell . We also have a similar issue with our Affinity. On inspection during our regular service and it seems that there is a slight sag in the suspension on the LHS . Elite RV are contacting the manufacturer in the UK for direction. We were told that it may be because of our Australian roads with a greater camber on the LHS. It seems that this issue is not apparent in later models. Given that the vans have been constructed for our conditions hopefully Elddis will arrange correction. Hope thaat this helps.

I hope we Elddis owners are not all in trouble eventually !!! Cheers GAZZA

we are currently towing the super cyclone which we rented from Brisbane, the sink drains very slowly and even fills up the bath recess...we have checked for blockages and all seems ok...any advice????

Philip
Philip

Hi Rusty - We had the same problem with air locks in the plumbing. I Increased the size of the connection to the hose, the hose diameter and the size of the pipework under the van. The plumbing under the van is really small and fixed hard up against the floor with no fall. Hence no head pressure particularly from the shower. The shower plumbing is independent to the combined sink/vanity plumbing. The This fixed the issue for us but obviously not a solution in a rental van. For a temporary fix try reducing the length of each hose and run it directly to the ground or just put a bucket under the outlet and don't use the hoses. That will help. Cheers Philip

Hello Rusty,

All I did was buy a Plunger from the hardware Store a Cheap and easy solution or as Phillip said put a bucket under the outlets or ask the park owner can you drain directly onto the grass. We only have this problem in the shower.

hi....i am in the process of purchasing an affinity 554 ....2015 mod...couid you please tell me what will be needed to conect the 7 pin round plug on my Isuzu tug to my new used van......Cheers Gazza

Philip
Philip

Hi Gazza

You will need a 13 pin flat plug on the Isuzu. The important wiring (other than the lights etc of course) is the direct connection from the battery to the computer on the van which controls the electronic stabilisers. This cannot be wired through an isolator and should be live . Don't worry about any drain on the battery while the van is connected as the draw is so minuscule it will not affect the charge in the battery. I suggest you give Elite RV at Burleigh Heads a call and ask them to send you a wiring diagram. Their number is 07 5593 6140. Good luck with the van. It's a good one. One thing though, after lots of experimentation I have found that loading the van with most weight on or forward of the axle is best. Cheers Phil

just got a new elddis affinity 550 it is 2015 model .and I had a problem with a signal with stick areal tried very thing but no success . what is the alternative ?

Philip
Philip

Hi Brian & Irene. - As part of our deal I had Elite RV change the TV Aerial from the "stick" type which is not suitable for Aust TV reception to a rotating "Jack" aerial. We have not had any issue with reception at all. It is fitted on the roof in the same area as the original with the rotator and an indicator showing the signal strength in the overhead cupboard where the radio is located. Hope that this helps. Cheers Philip

Hello Brian. Can you kindly confirm it is an official 2015 model Elddis Australian Edition caravan and not a grey/personal import.... as all 2015 Elddis came with the new omni-directional antenna and not the whip antenna.

I really like the layout of the Elddis caravans with its Australian modifications however we definitely need off road. Any chance Eldiss might consider making such a vehicle?

Elddis
Elddis   DM

Australian Edition Elddis Caravans are suitable for occasional graded/unsealed road use, however there are no plans to build a dedicated cross country/off road type of caravan at this time.

What do Elddis class as "graded /unsealed roads"? Most of these get corrugated very quick. Adria say their vans are good for about 2 hours before you have to cool the shockers.

How would they class the road from Wave Rock to Southern Cross in WA which I did one year - graded but with 3 -6 inches of slush on top. Fun driving at night in a Toyota Station Wagon - found out at the other end that the road was supposed to have been closed that day.

I guess I am asking where can you take one, Lightning Ridge, Suggen Buggen, Birdsville, east coast road on Yorke Peninsula?

can you please advice me.is affinity 554 off road van or not? Thanks

No the Elddis Avante or Affinity, are definitely not off road caravans. It clearly states this in all the information on the Eliterv web site.

Hello Cyrus Thankyou for your enquiry on the Australian Edition Affinity 554.

All Elddis caravans can be taken onto graded, unsealed roads. Not onto off road bush tracks

How much are the Elddis caravans and where can you look at them for sale I am in W>A>?

Michelle W
Michelle W

Hi Marilyn

I bought My Elddis caravan a year ago from Elite RV in Burleigh Heads Queensland, Darren and David were fantastic to deal with, they are the only official dealer in Australia. I do know though, that since I got my caravan they have been working very hard to establish other connections around Australia.

So if you go to their web sight, at Elite RV.com you can view the range get a quote and find a dealer in WA.

I brought my van when the dollar was high, so I really could not tell you what they are now, so going to the web sight is your best bet.

I have to say that , I love my Elddis, and I would highly recommend seriously consider getting one, you will not regret it.

Have a Great day and all the best

Kind Regards

Michelle.
