It’s called a DRYER...but, is doesn’t!!!
Called technician when clothes were not dying properly. This was under warranty and he adjusted something (water hardness?), check outlet filters were clean (they were) and left. It was marginally better for a while. We put up with it until I called them again (out of their warranty period) and told Electrolux of the ongoing issue. They wouldn’t send anyone out unless we paid. I informed them that the statutory and implied warranty was far longer than their 2 year warranty. They said that I’d have to call consumer affairs. So, I did. Waiting on response.j

This machine is horrible, it takes 4 to 6 hours to “dry” your clothes and 100% of the time the clothes come out very damp and stink , it does not dry towels , all your sheets end up in a tight ball and are still wet after 6 hours in the dryer, you can’t put just a few things in the dryer because it doesn’t sense the items and they come out soaking, it’s horrible horrible horrible and I’m sick and tired of it (family of 6) paid top dollar and I’m so sad with the product I’ve received, it’s not a dryer and and shouldn’t be put in the dryer category it’s just a machine that spins wet clothes and does zero drying!

Terrible product and after sales service
When I first purchased the dryer 30 months ago, yes it’s 10 months out of warranty, it worked great. Synthetic or cotton cycles on extra dry and the clothes came out perfectly dry without shrinkage, but now (just like overnight) it has started filling up with water, down behind the bottom front door to the filter and heat element housing. I can see this unit has a fair amount of complaints, almost enough (from what I can see) for a recall, but no, the sales staff just brush you off. Once out of warranty, your words fall on deaf ears. I purchase...d this from Harvey Norman for $1099- and have only received just under 3 years service out of it. Not worth it at all, and if this is the lack of customer service from Electrolux, I doubt I’ll be buying any of their product ever again. It’s like, thanks for your money, now bye bye...and suffer.

Don't buy this dryer. Should Electrolux collect this model and refund the money.
Water leaks, clothes is not dry, sheets roll in ball. Tech couldn't fix even replaced the pump. Second machine (replaced one) has same problem afer 4 years. I wish to have some money back. Please help to solve the problem.
Not a dryer, more a machine that warms wet clothes
From day 1 this machine has never worked properly, I have tried changing programmes, putting in less washing, having it drain into the sink instead of the condenser tank, but in the end, I'm stuck with a useless appliance, and unfortunately, by the time I realised that it was the product, not the user that was faulty, I was stuck with a dud.
Do not buy this product, save your money, learn from mistake.
Do not buy it - When it breaks down Electrolux service is terrible
Purchased 5/1/18. Takes over 2 hours to dry a load. It broke down in May '20. Was supposed to be fixed in 2 weeks. Almost 5 weeks now and I have rang 4 times to be told it isn't ready and will take 2 more days. Last time they didn't even say when it would be ready. They don't call you or let you know what is going on. Not good enough for a $1,399 product when new. Would not purchase Electrolux ever again.

Don’t buy this model
Didn’t dry sheets at all Which was so frustrating and really only dryer towels properly. Nothing in under 2 hours. It stopped working after after 2 years. Fortunately I had product care so getting a new one tomorrow

Do not buy - no response from Electrolux
Purchased this from Harvey Norman in February 2017, has from day 1, struggled to dry even the smallest garments, a 2hr 38 min cycle leaves clothes damp. Now the machine has a fault, quoted $200 to even look at it, this is priced as a premium product at $1399.00 new. Very dissapointed and will be staying away from the brand and advise others to do the same.

The most terrible product
I regret greatly of buying this product and my sincere advice is never never buy this model. More stupidly, I was convinced by the sale staff to purchase Harvey Norman extended warranty.
I purchased this dryer in May 2017. The problem of the machine is that it cannot dry clothes completely. They were damp and we have to hang them to dry. Two to three service calls were made in the 2-year factory warranty. After these in-factory checks and repairs. The problem stilled remained off and on.
When it came to Harvey Norman's extended warranty since M...

Absolutely terrible product!
We were recently pitched this dryer by a team member at Harvey Norman and stupidly purchased it thinking it would save us time! The clothes never come out dry and when you try to put on another cycle to dry the clothes it stops after 2 minutes. We have a new baby and this machine is totally impractical for washing and drying on a daily basis. Do not buy this! So disappointed.

This failed twice within the last 3 years and now requires to pay 250+ to replace the failed motor. It's a pain!
EDH3497RDW is a poor quality product. Do not buy this. It failed twice over the past 3 years amidst that use it only once a month in average. Definitely don't recommend buying this expensive unit.

should have read reviews before buying
I bought this to use in the wet season but it’s useless. When putting in a coverlet and choosing the duvet setting it stops after 4 minutes and is all bunched up! Really regret buying this machines. Even after hours loads aren’t dry. Shouldn’t have trusted the brand and should have done research.

Faulty electrolux condenser dryer
My dryer arrived faulty and was replaced. Then it did not dry anything, everything came out wet so a Tech need to attend and fix the issue. The door lock then broke and that took weeks to replace. The dryer then had issue where the dye turned it blue on the inside. It has never dryer properly things come out damp after it has gone through 2 cycles which is at least 2 hours. Now it starts and turns off 3 mins later saying everything is dry when nothing is dry. Then it tells you to empty the water container but it has no water in it. I have call...customer care they are hopeless and do not care about there customers. They just continue that cycle of inconvenience sending out techs that fix one thing only for another to start going wrong. This should have been replaced with a difference model as this one is hopeless. I will never buy anything else from Electrolux again I have the washer, dryer and vacuum and none of them have been good quality. Buyer beware!!!!

Very disappointing dryer for the money
I use this dryer as a backup for winter drying emergencies. I have had the dryer around 2 years. It is a really underwhelming dryer, leaks air through the seal of the door. The "child lock" does not work at all - children can simply open the door. The dryer itself eventually dries clothes but only after two or three goes of the cycle. It barely seems to warm up. This might be a faulty dryer or just a really poor design.
Constant break downs and poor after care service
Bought despite poor reviews as it was the only condenser dryer that would fit into our laundry at the time. It broke down within 6 months with water pooling at the bottom and after getting repaired broke down in another 6 months for the same reason. In addition, after sales service has been poor - Electrolux are really inflexible on the days they're willing to service as well so unless i take leave I can't get anyone to look at it.
Purchased in July 2017 at David Jones Online Store for $1,299.00.
Do not buy this dryer, it takes 6+ hours to dry 8 towels. It has quite few settings on the machine, but the extra dry cycle won't dry a normal load under 6 hours. If you have a family and want to do a few loads in a day then don't even think about this dryer.
The salesman will give you the pitch about these dryers having no condensation, they're a heat pump dryer and you need to expect the clothes to come out slightly damp, as this is normal. You will be very disappointed when the dryer stops and your clothes are still wet after 3 hours.

I bought this machine to wash linen at a holiday rental. Completely impractical as it takes so long to dry a load. I can’t dry a set of sheets in a reasonable time. I just had a set on for approx. 5 hours and it’s now hanging in front of the heater as it still came out wet in places. It’s not broken, it has just never worked as I hoped.

Worst dryer I have ever owned. Takes forever. Clothes always end up in a damp ball. I have to untangle them and put them back in for another cycle. And they still feel damp and they smell when they eventually dry from spending so long in the dryer bunched up into a ball. Water leaks from under the door. On my way to the dump with it.
Very poor dryer performance
To dry a flannel sheet takes over 5 hours and that is only one. The sheet rolls into a ball and I have to stop the machine and unravel the sheet so that it can continue to dry, Difficult to wash and dry sheets and have them back on your bed that evening. Unable to change “dry” setting, so most items feel damp on completion and require 2 cycles. Would not recommend this brand, this was a new machine and has not been used often, disappointing.

Worst dryer, extremely bad customer service
Got the dryer one and half years ago, had lots of water come out from bottom part where the water not supposed to be. I have to manually draw nearly a litre water out every day, otherwise the clothes won’t dry and water leaking everywhere on floor!!! Technician come had look three times, couldn’t fix it, offering replacement. Try to contact customer service, every time wait an hour to get through!!!! Then I was told the report hasn’t beeen sent through, they couldn’t do anything about it!!!! But the report was already sent couple days ago, then...the lady named [name removed]’ said they have lots of report sent to them recently!!!! I said I couldn’t hear you clearly, she said you call back later, then said hung up!!!!! She is extremely rude!!!! It’s waste of my time!!!!! I won’t buy Electrolux product anymore!!!!!
Questions & Answers
When I start the dryer the tumbler inside will not turn, I get a whirring sound and nothing happens. What is causing this??
Hi, is it normal for water to be in the condenser cabinet when i open it there is always water in there?
We purchased this dryer along with a washing machine three weeks ago for our European laundry in our new apartment.
I have searched multiple times for information on why we are not collecting any water in the water tank. Instead we have condensation developing around the function knob and along the outside of the water tank. I changed the drying level as per the instructions and this has cleared up some of the condensation, however there is still no water in the tank. There is also no information about how to attach the clear hose that came with the dryer.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
The lack of information available is quite frustrating.
