Inert gas company

Signed up for discounts on 45kg bottles, created an account, ordered a bottle, paid by credit card....so far, so good...
My account on their website showed delivery for same day as my order but, of course, no delivery eventuated. Called local branch who told me I'd missed their weekly delivery to my area and would have to wait a week.
Went local instead and the bottle was delivered within 2 hours.
I should have read the reviews first.

Long wait

Will be changing to another company, 3 week wait, email on signing up said 3-5 working days, rang they said 10 days, then it was 3 wks, had to change to bbq bottle. Terrible service, they will tell you what you want to hear on the phone, and not follow through. Show details

Weeks of waiting for bottles.
Gas delivered 400 meters down a hilly driveway away from the house, bottles left in the ditch on the side of the road. Bottles delivered half empty.
Website makes no sense!!!
Never answer the phone. When they are utterly useless.
I have been with elgas for 2 years and have not had a sibgle smooth successful delivery. I struggle to order new bottles becasue the website doesn't allow you to order through your account, rather asks you to open a new account. Random service charges that make my blood boil becasue the service is just flat out terrible. Honestly at my wits end, is there another gas provider in the Northern rivers? Show details

Been a long time customer but now switching to another company!

Gas deliveries never show up on the date. Date continually moves back. You now wait weeks for a delivery. If you phone to check on delivery, staff are rude! Received a text to say gas would be delivered next day FINALLY, but it never arrives. Another follow up to rude staff and you have to wait another week. Do not go with Elgas. They are completely unreliable, have 0 customer service, require constant follow ups and still can’t provide a delivery date. I’m switching away from them after the next delivery IF it ever shows up. Show details

Worst LPG supplier in the market

After 18 years of insitu tanker deliveries, an average per annum consumption of over 2200ltrs,all of a sudden we are now a "non compliant" site,the reason,a water heater and a vent,which are both outside the 3.5mtr radius for installation requirements,middle of august with a snow dump coming,yes we are above 1250mtrs,and the tanker,"can't deliver to our site,it's non compliant",phone calls are met with "well just fix it and email us the photo",,FIX What?????.ffs,as for indifferent customer service from Emily,WELL,.,just avoid ELGAS at all costs,if you want be left with no Gas. Show details

Elgas couldn't care less

Today's the third day I've been waiting for an urgent callback due to an empty gas bottle. I called and explained we have no hot water and i was told someone would ring me back. Nobody called. So... this is a perfect opportunity to ring the competitor and move my business elsewhere. The competitor offered us a 50% discount and next day delivery. The last time I attempted to negotiate the price with elgas I was swatted away with a one-time $20 discount. Seeya elgas and thanks for nothing. Show details

This company associated with BOC, is a rip off

We have been a customer of Elgas for 25 years! The relationship has ended and we will never use them again. They have been happy to overcharge in comparison to Super Gas and are not proactive in looking after their long term clients. I discovered today that Elgas based on standard charge rates are $18 per 45k log bottle more expensive along with their bottle rental rates. They will discount reluctantly if pushed, however still don’t come close to Super Gas and what’s more you can actually talk to a customer service team at Suoergas, unlike the robotic system of Elgas. We will never use the Elgas thieves again.

Drop them as a supplier

Absolutely useless, unreliable and disgraceful customer service. told tanks coming 8 days after original order. We followed up 2 days prior and told it was coming as mentioned. Called day of supposed delivery and told truck is in nearby town. called near end of day asking when delivery is and told it wasn't due until following week. weekend here now and guests coming so tank won't last but if I wanted special delivery would cost over $200.00. Told rep to forget it and I would cancel our account on Monday. He hung up. Highly recommend avoiding these guys like the plague. Show details

Waited a month for delivery

Ordered gas bottle 27 days ago. Received 2 SMS advising delivery but never happened. Elgas advised SMS was an error. Now run out of gas and changed to another provider who delivered next day. Would not recommend. Show details

Joke service

20minute wait minimum on hold when you need to talk to someone, the person you get will be defensive and transfer you without giving information, another 20 minute hold... Then an unqualified delivery man will come out, spray soapy water on your gas equipment and "defect it for a leak" which you do not have, making you call the phone number, wait 20 minutes, then get no help again. I changed providers to origin after being messed about for 2 hours by Elgas. They sent a gas fitter out and did a full system check before starting my service, no leaks...... The gas is 30$ cheaper per bottle and service on the phone was instant. Don't waste time with Elgas. Show details

Terrible company

Constantly increased prices of gas bottles, and ALWAYS replaced the wrong bottle. They always replaced the bottle with gas still in it, never the empty one and they called me a liar after I called them on it. Have just cancelled with them and gone somewhere else and they are now telling me they I won’t be reimbursed for the gas that was still in the bottle. Customer service exceptional

I have a couple of properties serviced by Elgas. I always dread setting up a new service with utility companies - they always find problems and the process becomes impossible. Not Elgas. The customer service people take personal accountability. They respond promptly (emails and phone calls). It’s like dealing with a small local company and the individual is someone you know. Rip off!

Paid 245.00 for a 45kg of gas bottle then get charged another 48.00 as service fee per delivery. Two words RIP OFF!! Company dropped off gas cylinder 3 days after payment was made outside of my front gate, didn't install the new bottle and didn't even bother taking the empty cylinder bottle. Show details

Most useless company I’ve ever encounter

Don’t expect a call back when you need help. With an issue they have created. Don’t ever expect them to get anything right, and please don’t expect them to accept fault or to fix any mistakes they have made. You are better off finding a small independent business than to deal with this enormous headache. Banging your head against a wall would be more productive. Show details

Very disappointed

Unreliable Service

Contacted customer service for emergency gas delivery, as we ran out of gas a day prior to the scheduled delivery date, however, no delivery confirmation was initiated during conversation. Further, I was surprised when I checked my account the following day, the estimated delivery date was moved more distant to the comfort of winter blues. I was expecting to take receipt of the "desired gas" the soonest possible but miseries of cold showers and food takeaways seemed gratifies the exigency of this vain, callous and ineffecient gas supplier. Don't use for business

If you are using gas for your business, the service is absolutely appalling. It is completely impossible to talk to a person, deliveries are sporadic if at all, drivers don't read or care about delivery instructions and nobody seems to care. Show details

Very unreliable

They are extremly unreliable. After wasting hours with them over the phone for two days and even escalating to area manager they couldn't arrange for a driver to deliver as per committed day. Moved to another supplier Show details

Delayed Delivery

Ordered gas 3 weeks ago (16th June) and still waiting. Text was sent out to say it would be delivered on Monday (3rd July), no show. Another text message sent out to say it will be delivered on Tuesday (4th July), still no show. They showed up without notice on Wednesday (5th July) unable to deliver because we have a locked gate when people are not at home for security reasons. It's a joke they expect their customers to put their home at risk when they're unable to commit to a delivery date, or at the very least keep the customer updated. Terrible customer service

The website would not allow me to request a quote. So I called and waited ten minutes to speak to someone, and got treated rudely by the customer service representative, as though I was messing up their day calling them.

How are they still in business?

Unreliable, poor customer service, have no empathy, one department blames the other who blames another. Ran out of gas three weeks ago after they postponed delivery and they didn't care. Too lazy to replace empty bottles

On Friday the 23rd June, 2023, I contacted local elgas for the replacement of 2 bottles and also collect the other 2 which were no longer needed, I was told to wait till Monday, which I did, received a phone call, etc, now Thursday 29th, June, 2023, I have placed the 4 bottles outside my property for collection as i have made other arrangements with a company that delivers on time. I have had enough of so called service providers who don't give a ####, and am quite sure that they will have an excuse for their inability to deliver a much needed service, Show details

Completely unreliable delivery. Multiple delays. Poor excuses

I don’t use much gas, but when I need my 45 kg bottle replaced, the wait is unbelievable. They promise 5 to 7 days. Then after that time, I get a text saying it will be delivered the next day. Nothing. Then the following day another text for delivery. Nothing. I phone up and after being on hold forever, am told at 5 pm, my gas in on board and will be delivered before 6 pm. Nothing. Next day another message saying they don’t know when it will arrive. And it’s like this every time. When my bottle is empty I’ll be changing companies. Worst service imaginable. Happy to Take Your Money but not supply the Gas

Ordered gas over a week ago got a message yesterday they were arriving shortly spent 4 hours at home and nothing.
Rang today and spoke with Jasmine you must be the most incompetent person I've ever dealt with, refused to apologise and said "ITS COMING TODAY" and hung up so I called back and spoke to Supervisor Sia who definetly guaranteed 100% over 5 times it was coming today, another 4 hours at home and nothing.
Rang back and supervisor Sia refused to take call leaving me without heating or hot water over the weekend....gas is paid for and the customer service at Elgas from Jasmine and Sia is disgraceful...not one of them even bothered ringing the driver to confirm and has cost me 8 hours in wages. So far great!

Reading through a lot of these reviews and they could all be describing my experiences 12 months ago with a much larger LPG supplier. Poor service, cancelling orders at last minute, waiting more than 3 weeks for
a delivery resulting in no gas at all, expensive, etc.
I don't think any of them are perfect.

So this review is based on a years experience of Elgas, compared to 4 years with the other provider.
- Simple online ordering system.
- Arrives either on the day or earlier.
- Never waited longer than a week.
No dramas, no thrills, which is what I want. Show details

Absolutely poor! Switching elsewhere…

I ordered another 45kg gas tank on the 24/04 and I rang yesterday (4/05) to ask where it was & was told “We only deliver to your area on Mondays and Thursday’s & because of the public holidays, you won’t get it until Monday”, which is the 8/05!!! Exactly two weeks!!! Absolutely poor service & the girl I spoke to didn’t give two hoots. Looking elsewhere now. Adios Elgas, you can keep your 0% service rating. Show details

Worst pricing

I am with Elgas and I pay $195 and recommended my neighbour and he pays $177 and he recommended his cousin to Elgas and he pays $127. I don't get it how they charge customers. I called customers service and told them that I am moving to another provider and they won't match the price and Happy for me to go. Worst customers service. This is on the worst companies I’ve had to deal with, no customer service, poor attitude, I’ve run out of gas 6 times and they couldn’t care less. I’ve switched to Supgas what breath of fresh air they actually care about customers and they’re cheaper too. Show details
