Pretty good, love the remote
An ultrasonic diffuser had been on my “nice to have” list for a while, but I’d been putting it off because (a) they were ugly and plasticky (b) the nicer, ceramic ones sported “are you kidding?!” price tags.
The innards were - to my untrained eyes - exactly the same plastic components, and the differences were the capacity of the water tank and the external casing. The bells and whistles were in the form of led lights (auto change, colour choice and intensity), ambient music, ability to diffuse intermittently, and a remote control.
When I ca...me across the Ellia Gaze, it looked ok (my son disagrees and says it looks like a white grenade) was ceramic and was on sale. It also ticked all the boxes when it came to the bells and whistles - remote control to turn on/off/intermittent diffusing; off/auto-change/colour choice/intensity of led lighting; and music with volume control. Plus it was mains-powered which I wanted. The clincher was the price, which was cheaper than what “brand names” were asking for their tiny, all plastic, no frills models. I couldn’t resist. It does everything the box says and I get long intermittent diffusing times of around 14 hours. The remote is pretty intuitive and I usually choose to let the led light at the top of the diffuser auto-change at a dimmed level to give me a visual reminder that it is on. Music? Nah, don’t use it as the diffuser is in the living room. But I suppose the included new-agey ambient music could be useful to lull one to sleep. All in, it’s pretty good. Let’s see how it is on longevity.
