The whole thing all went very smoothly the operators were polite and helpful so have no complaints at all hoping it will be worth the cost
Long delays for connection
The installation of our solar energy was efficient and fast. I wish I could say the same for the connection by the distributor. It took over two months rather than the suggested 20 days so we lost a month and a half of use. The retailer will backdate use to the date the distributor connected but not before. Is there no remedy for this tardiness.
The installers were very good and fully explained the system. Unfortunately our power supplier was very slow in connecting us to the grid. We are still waiting to receive our first bill under solar power to actually see what our savings are.
Costs After Installation
Was don't advised properly of after installation costs.
Was harassed by an overseas call centre.
Don't want their solar panels on my roofs, as if we knew about the costs after installation we would have not have them installed. Energy matters will not remove them.
Keep away from this company. Buyer beware.
April 28th, 2017 Update: Solar System That Has Not Worked Properly Since Install.
Buyer beware, this company has installed a seven thousand dollar system on my roof that has not worked since install.
1; was not advised of cross over cost. Was advised by a Manager of Energy matter that they would pay half. Have not seen a cent.

Power To The People
4 months in and so far we are very happy. The generation being achieved is great and the bills have certainly come down. If only my Billing Retailer could get it right, I guess they're worried that they're the one's losing out.

Good so far
Nearly 6 months now since a retrofit Tesla battery. Has done what it is supposed to and kept our power bills steady even though we have 3 extra people in the house. Happy with our decision.
Very Happy So Far
Only had installed about 6 months ago, so far all has been great, sales, installation and my first full quarterly bill was beyond my expectations.
Well worth the investment
Energy Matters assessed our requirements in terms of number of solar panels; gave us a quote and, after our acceptance, installed and connected everything at the agreed time with no hassles. The inspector who authorized the "switch on" commented on the neat and professional workmanship. I do keep getting messages wanting me to install a battery but I ignore these as I don't believe it is cost effective
Had a Tesla battery system install by Energy Matters. Never worked on day of installation. They tried to fix it many, many times even changing the Tesla battery over to another one, but still no go. This lasted for about 4 months, (not very happy after paying over $12,000) and you get nothing for your investment, the only thing you get is appointment after appointment (wasting my time). eventually after 4 months a new engineer came out, took one look and started saying, this is wired up wrong, so is this, so is that etc. etc. basically the or...iginal installer/electrician that was sent out on the first day of installation made a meal of it. This bloke is supposed to be an electrician, I know more than him and I'm your average blow joe bloke. I even found the main power wire for the solar cells and inverter that is supposed to be SECURELY fixed to the main on/off switch, was left completely unsecured and causing the circuit breaker to be tripping and the main on/off switch to become very hot. after I secured the wire in place everything seems to be working good (for now). Unless they train their installers, I would keep well clear. Unless you want a fuse box fire or worst still, have your house burn to the ground. November 1st 2016 Update: Finally Cashback Sorted Out. Just an update on my cashback. I finally got my cashback and the system is working good, hopefully it will continue working good for many years to come. . . . we'll see.

They suck you in...
The experience begins very well with Energy Matters, but it doesn't last long.
Was quoted one price and after placing a deposit, I then received an email stating the actual cost was significantly higher.
I have now been waiting for over 5 weeks for a refund and continually told that it will be paid but yet to see it.
Stay away from this company, so many more to choose from and better to avoid the disappointment and frustration.
Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service. Kept informed of progress of installation by a person with whom I had an instant rapport. Such a change from dealing with some companies which send you off to far away places like India talking to people you can barely understand.
You never write, you never call
I originally purchased a 5kW system in 2011, at the time of installation it was apparent that it had been installed incorrectly and not in accordance with Australian Standards. In fact the installation had created a risk for my family in terms of electrical safety. I contacted EM and only after having my own electrician make it safe and with a suggestion that maybe I should contact the Electrical Safety Office in Queensland, did I get a response. OK 4 years later I experienced another issue and it has now been 47 days since first raised this is...sue with EM. Now don't get me wrong, I've heard back from them, but only after many phone calls, emails to the CEO and postings on Facebook did I get a response. My last response was on the 20/1/16 when they told be they are looking at my broken panel and getting me a quote. Well by now I am sure they must be sick at looking at my broken panel and as far as the quote is concerned how long does it take put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard. Even if I just had a call or email each day letting me know what was going on, this would be better than waiting in limbo for someone to write or call me. I have had to resort to responding to an old message of Facebook, and I posted a new message on their Facebook page. I will try & make contact again with the CEO as this seemed to get the ball rolling before. Overall, I would really suggest that if your are thinking of using EM, rethink it.

Excellent customer service and installer
I have nothing but praise for the excellent sales approach, attention to detail, no surprises on a double story with cathedral ceilings. Our solar system is a neat install, everything is hidden in the roof, no lazy shortcuts were taken. The installer was on time, extremely professional and helpful with all my questions. You pay a little extra for quality components, there are cheaper ones out there but I know that my install is backed by a company that is large and should be around in twenty years time in case of warranty issues.
Smooth process from start to finish.
After days of reading on-line reviews on different forums and reading what the different government web sites had to say, I settled on five PV system suppliers/installers with which I discussed my goals. Two lost-out almost immediately due to no follow-up. Although the quotes were very similar between the remaining three, Energy Matters seemed to provide the more superior REC panels and inspired confidence, both with the sales staff that I talked to and their informative, easy to use web site. An important selling feature was the inclusion of t...he power monitor that allows you to locally and remotely monitor how much electricity you are generating from the PV system and the total amount being used in the house. The installation was easy to arrange, pay for and on the day of installation the subcontractor was professional and helped me understand the various monitoring systems of the SMA inverter and the Energy Matters Monitor. I had some configuration problems with the Energy Matters Monitor initially, but these were resolved with the help of the Energy Matters team by e-mail and telephone. The whole process of getting the Solar PV system was painless from start to finish. I am very happy with my 4kW PV system of REC panels and SMA inverter. I just wish I had got it a couple of years earlier! Energy Matters continue to provide great follow-up, and their Newsletters and web site provide a continuing stream of useful information. Now... If they only provided the same integrated and seamless system for my next endeavour, a solar hot water system. Great customer service so far! The Energy Matters Power Monitor does not exactly concurr with what the inverter says is being produced.
Better than I hoped!
After many years of sitting on the fence, I was prompted to make my mind up promptly (The Tasmanian Government made a last minute announcement that it was changing the Feed in Tariff in 10 days) So after a final consideration of the industry players (most of whom only wanted to squabble over who had the lowest price) I decided on Energy Matters, they were not as cheap as the others, but my priority was on quality components and install, I jumped online and placed my order.
A couple of hours later one of the Staff rang and confirmed my detail...s, emailed me through documentation, Deposit paid and photo's of our Fuse box and roof area were sent back to EM, paperwork was sent back and forth via Email, they managed to get all the paperwork through in time to get the higher Feed in Tariff (we will be getting 28 cents per Kilowatt guaranteed for 4 years vs the new 8 cent per Kilowatt Tariff ) System organised, now to get the Roof painted before the system went on (The last time the roof was painted was 10 years ago so the Roof was looking a bit sad, plus I didn't want to have to remove the system to paint the roof in a few years, may as well get it all done now) Painter booked, then the weather destroyed all the plans! The system was booked back in August, The Painter finally got to paint the Roof at the end of November! (Not his Fault, we have just had one of the Wettest Springs on record here in Tassie) Energy matters rang me every week or so just checking/seeing how thing were progressing (or in this case, not progressing) finally the Roof was ready, I rang the Installer asking to be placed in the Queue (I knew they were flat out, so I expected a long delay, we had delayed them for nearly 3 months) but he managed to get us in very promptly. The Install is above and beyond what I expected, The Installer and his Apprentice did a superb job, the House was built in the 60's so the roof trusses were a little bowed meaning the roof is not flat/straight, but the guys spent hours lifting, lowering and fiddling with the Solar Panels to make them all sit flat and flush with each other (the Fit and Finish of the panels is superb) The Mounting of the Inverter, the wiring, switches are all super neat and tidy, I am pretty pedantic about how I like work to be finished and detailed, but the installer and his offsider far exceeded my expectations! The Installer was also great in offering Information and advice on the system and answering all of my (many) Questions. We have had a 3 Kw system installed, a Solar One aurora Inverter with 12 x 250watt Daqo Panels.
So good; I used them twice
I used Energy Matters for initial installation in 2008, and they did a terrific job. Understood their products, happy to help - great technology to examine all the different options. A couple of years later I realised I wanted more solar on the roof - didn't hesitate to call them. And a second installation is much harder than a first - since you've already used the prime collection spots.
Again - fantastic to deal with, got great expertise and I have over 7kw of sensational solar on my roof. Couldn't be happier.
Reliable, quality gear from people who actually know their stuff
Our solar was installed in 2008. Now the inverter is 'out of warranty' even though they told me it was replaced new in 2011 and had another 5 year warranty. I start investigating after the second failure and find the install is not to manufacturers instructions. Not in accordance with various AS and generally sub standard. I have lodged various complaints with various state government authorities, however due to the way the solar industry is structured the individual installer is responsible not the company. Where else does this happen? I...n the normal electrical market the company holds a contractors license and the individual is a licensed staff working under the contractors license. Seems like a general side step designed to put workers in line for issues and companies responsible for not much. Has produced us power for several years The company. The follow up. Worst company I have dealt with
Firstly we were promised installation 6-8 weeks. Now it's 13 weeks and still no installation. Very little communication unless we rang them, lost paperwork more than once and a promised installation for this weekend but we have just been informed from the installer that the components have not been sent to him for our job.. I would never recommend this company to anybody ever.
