MT80F-C

It could be better..it has the potential to be..But Engel are resting on their past...

The Engel Fridge MT 80F - Combi is OK..it is built solid and is reliable that you can not fault..
I have tried to work with it...
I have on many occasions gave it the benefit of the doubt..
I have sat there in my camping chair with a "not so cold" beer in my hand..thinking.."It must be me..what am I doing wrong.."
Why can't the stuff in the fridge part be colder..especially the drinks?
I have persevered for a couple of years with it but the MF80 Combi..the fridge and freezer "All in One" design has a flaw..and it is in its' design.

The Freezer part of the fridge has to get to -5c or below and preferably between -8 and -10 constantly regardless of the ambient temp to allow the cold air from the freezer part to be drawn from into the fridge part via a fan built in the partition. The fridge part in the combi will then operate between 2 and 5c..which for when you are in the Australian Outback or Tropics at and ambient of between 34 to 40c ...is still too high..so drinks will not be cold..the soft butter will suffer..vegies not cold.. A big issue is also the power draw from this model goes through the roof..over 4 Ah because the compressor is continually working trying to maintain the -12 and keep the fridge part @ 5c in whilst in 40c outback desert ambient temp..and yes..the compressor working in this environment is noisy..quiet noisy..I could hear it working hard inside my camper front fridge box even with the door closed.
