Rush job, poor construction, unlicensed frncers, rough finishes.
Company Entire Fencing Solutions comes across as professional and experienced but were far from it. They completely stuffed up the installation of the sliding gate, there was minimal communication - none on how the gate posts would be erected. I watched the concrete being slopped in from a wheel barrow. The footing was not all boarded up to be neat. Prior to work commencing, I said to the fencer on the phone we would have all of the front yard fence rails facing into our yard. On the first day they had put one of the fence sides rails to face o...utside onto the street, lucky we caught it just in time. Our reference to a craftsman lapped and capped exposed post fence was not achieved, because on the day I was told the exposed posts would be too much work, so they couldnt do it. I thought that's what I was going to get because the owner quoted on it. Alarm bells went off from the start, when I sent a picture of the type of fence I wanted and was quoted on it, and in the end we didnt get it, none of the edges were arris, smooth as in our picture, where was my well made constructed fence? Even our 100mm palings were lapped at 70mm spacing giving us undesirable gaps with shrinkage, very disappointed, as I know this will need maintenance very soon. It's a costly mistake to go with an unlicensed fencer. We had so much materials on site and they hurried up to finish a 33m fence in two days with 2 gates installed. The quality was not there. The timber materials used were lovely except for a few cheaper hardwood lower quality posts that were used on one side. I think when a fencer spaces the fence palings too much apart on the lapped it tells me they are being cheap with materials and I did pay top dollar! I measured the Hardwood posts were not installed in ground at consistent lengths and at the end of each side of the fence and at a front corner there were no posts installed to secure and finish the fence. They thought screwing in a piece of timber to end the fence on a rotten post is sufficient. How is that going to last? There are gaps at the bottom of the paling betw the sleeper going around the front boundary which I don't like. Surely a lapped and capped fence shouldn't have any gaps. I live on a busy street too and chose a lapped fence that would block out some noise. One other thing that annoyed me was their decision to cut sleepers on ground and fence on tree roots, it is not ok. I went around painstakingly cutting roots out on my fence line and when I am out of sight they choose to fence on the roots! The fence heights were another issue for me, both our sides are 100mm shorter than the quote, they cut off the post and palings way too short. So over 4m of both side fences I have them measuring around 1.7m. There was definitely enough materials to keep the height consistent at around 1.8m. I was told by owner they go by the outside ground level boundary height of 1.8m but when I checked one of the sides outside our boundary measured only around 1.7m anyway. I've received quotes from other fencing companies saying they can achieve a fence up to 2m if necessary with the materials we had. I'm catching them out with excuses and lies & I feel there is no accountability or responsibility by them. I get the feeling it's deny as much as possible. When we got our concrete footing done by EFS they didnt show us visually there was any structural mesh installed, so it is hard to trust they even did put it into the ground with concrete. I had the gate manufacturer check our aluminium sliding gate and it is out 10mm out of plumb and carpenters have told me most of our posts are not level. Oh great, what else can I say except that I am not a happy camper! The company would not redo any of the work to honor the quote and agreement, I expected at minimum we would have aesthetically pleasing finishes and good attention to detail like 45 degree angle cuts, the concrete footing on posts were not trowelled properly to stop water pooling and the cuts on hardwood posts were straight across not on an angle.
