Fast and reliable
Sheet fed scanners are primarily designed to provide speed rather than quality so the optical resolution of 600x600 DPI is about par for the course. Where this unit excels is in the speed of scanning and the reliability of the paper feed mechanism.
Most of my use is duplex scanning of largely mono text at 300DPI where it's slightly slower than the claimed 26ppm, averaging about 22ppm and I've not had a single paper jam in 4 years of use. 600DPI scans in colour slow the speed significantly to 5ppm but that's the trade off for quality.
Pros: fa...st and accurate scanning; excellent paper handling, duplex scanning. Cons: bundled software is a bit 'meh' but I don't use it anyway. It's worth noting that the connection is only USB2 although that doesn't seem to slow it down much. I've not had cause to use the wireless connectivity as it's connected by USB so can't comment on that feature.
Purchased in April 2015 for $550.00.
