Good printer. Scans well. It is compact & black in colour. The document holder can be a bit tricky and seems to send the paper through on a slight angle. Price was about $70 so cant complain. The Operating buttons can be a bit tricky as they are not clearly identified apart from the power button

The last headache you want to pay for – I have just purchased an XP2200 printer from BigW today and I am going to return it first thing tomorrow because it turn out to be a piece of junk. Below are my reasons: 1- there is no installation or setup manual. You have to go 9nline, register your product and 2 hours later if you are presistant enough you get your hands on the manual and… Read more

setups. 2- after following every step to put the ink cartridges in place, setting up the device you'd realise that you can not even print a page. The test print came out blank. 3- nuzzle check revealed that there is no ink in the BW cartrige and the other three have only 20% ink in them.

4- the price of a new set of xl carrridges after 10% discount is over $100. It is a classic rip off.

Please do not be like me. Pay attention to others' reviews before spending your hard earned money on such a sorry excuse of a printer and make these dodgy businesses rich.

The last black ink cartridges lasted maybe 10-20 sheets of text before ceasing operation – I thought the cheaper ink cartridges would save me money but actually did not print anywhere near the stated output before needing to be replaced. I thought it might have been unlucky but have purchased several ink cartridges with the same result. Unfortunately, this has made me decide that the cost of providing a packing slip is simply not worth it.

Good for documents not photos – I actually received this printer as a gift and had to just get ink. The printer and scanner performs well but just dont expect high resolution photo prints. They do not look that great. The wireless setup takes a bit of setting up but once it is in place it works flawlessly every time and its good to put the printer out of the way away from the computer.  Show details

So far, so good – I haven't had this printer very long. I was very happy with the ease of set up (connected to computer not WIFI). The print quality is very good and so far the reliability has been good. I was reluctant to purchase another EPSON but as I already had the software installed, and have always found the help desk very helpful. So as I said, so far, so good.  Show details

Don't View It, Print It – Having family living it England, thanks to my EPSON XP-220, shopped around best price, i can print pictures in bright color, no problems, i like the quality of color easy to operate, and would recommend, if someone wanted a printer for this purpose. I haven't experienced any jams, we certainly know we got what we expected.  Show details

Shocking model – Bought this printer at JB Hifi, does the job averagely but not efficient as expected to have the wireless printing working (which was erratic even with a strong wifi connection) left out with some genuine cartridges unused. Waste of time. Show details

Planned obsolescence – I also own an XP-100 and both printers have deteriorated in print quality. Horizontal lines that head alignment doesn't fix. Bought extra ink packs for both, which don't fit the newer models. Harvey Norman selling newer Epson printers, but the ink costs $85 (more than the price of the printer!) Land fill will get the obsolete printers, along with the unusable ink cartridges. Environmentalists must be in shock. Show details

Worst printer i have ever onwed – Setting up printer is painful with an unbelievable amount of steps/software downloads/updates ect. wireless connection has a mind of its own and you cant use a cable to connect to computer as they do not supply any cable in box. Paper jams alot and ink cartridges are expensive. It will be going in the bin once i have use all ink up. Show details

A lemon ! – Bought it 15/10/2017 for $58 ! on special reduced from $88 at Harvey Norman .Cheapo me ! Expensive ink cartridges and always having " connection " and paper feed problems . Now 1 year and 7 months later - no power ! Time for the BIN . I should have bought a HP Show details

The most useless printer I have ever owned!! – Uses all 4 ink colours to print greyscale, no option to print with black only, that means $80 each time to replace all 4 inks. Every second cartridge replaced isn't recognized by the printer even though I use only genuine Epson ink, and I spend half an hour troubleshooting just to get it printing again. Show details

This is a piece of junk – This printer has been trouble from day 1. I use it once or twice per week and it's always got issues. It loves to show a paper jam when there isn't one. Last week the paper jam light came on again and it won't go off no matter what. Repair service wanted $85.00 per hour to fix it but advised me to bin it. Epson have brought out the XP-245 which is… Read more

exactly the same printer except that they've changed the ink cartridge type. How convenient that my very expensive 220 XL cartridges of unused ink must go to waste. Don't buy from this company. They are totally unethical in that their ink works out to thousands of dollars per litre. Absolute unreliable rubbish.

Do not buy!!!!! – I have never experienced any product as bad as this. All my other printers have been very good, but this is a disaster. Every time I print there is a problem. It's impossible to print even once without issues. Sometimes it doesn't want to print at all, or it says no ink when there is, it prints just some dirt on the paper or leaves parts not… Read more

printed, or paper gets stuck, or something else - each time something. It hasn't worked correctly even one simple time. It's not really a printer as you have to fight and lose time, paper and ink before you might get something done. The ink also becomes far too expensive with this. Epson XP-220 = lost money. If Epson had any sense of responsibility they would give money back for everyone who got this fake printer which hardly work for it's purpose. If Epson consider this rubbish as something suitable for printing, in that case it's a scam.

No stars – Expensive to own, grey scale doesn't work, ever! Avoid the trouble and get a different brand, I got a black only laser printer, said to be way better then a multi function job. I couldn't even be bothered returning this thing - why do I have to write fifty words?  Show details

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER – Expensive cartridges run out very quickly. You can't print (even in greyscale) if the ink has run out in a colour cartridge! Even with all ink the printer will print white pages or have difficulty printing black. Does not print double sided automatically. The printer has refused to connect to our wifi since about 2 months after purchase. Expensive, inconvenient, just go to HP.  Show details

Very Deserving of Zero Rating – Pathetic printers - got two (one for mum and one for dad) unfortunately. Trouble changing the (very expensive) cartridges. Then neither will not print because doesn't recgonise (genuine) cartridges or because of a"communication error". These printers are not even useful as door stops. They need the "deep six" treatment - mine are about to experience that strategy.  Show details

Zero Star Rating would be be one too many – Even a Zero Star rating is one too many. Outrageous ink cartridge costs and very short print runs make this printer a contender for the world's biggest waste of money, i.e. you get better value for your money from buying pen. Reliability rating? Is -10 allowed? Positives: just one; if all 4 ink cartridges are recognized (fingers crossed), it is… Read more

a capable document scanner and copier although it is cheaper to use Office Works or a library copy service to do this. (Which I now do!)

Overall, this printer is the very opposite of what Epson quality used to be when they invented consumer inkjets. 25 years ago you paid a high price for high quality but this printer delivers garbage for rolls royce printer cartridge costs (About $4,000 per liter of ink by my calculation.

Worst printer probably ever – I'm not one to write bad reviews without first trying to find a solution or unless I feel it's necessary, but I bought this printer over a year ago and it is absolutely terrible. I would never recommend buying one, unless you love unreliable printers that magically run out of ink after printing 5-10 basic documents. The quality of said documents has also always been quite poor.  Show details

Do not waste your money with this terrible printer – I had previously used an old Epson 220 printer at work and it never gave a fault when changing ink cartridges. I bought the Epson XP-220 for home. It worked OK until I changed the original ink cartridges. I installed genuine Epson cartridges, but the printer would not recognize them as genuine. The red fault light stayed on, even when I took them… Read more

Do not buy – Purchased this printer on sale, but made the wrong choice. WIFI connection took ages to connect but eventually got it working most of the time. Print outs started off good, but after a few prints it was fading. Went to replace the inks, did not make much difference and they were more expensive than the printer itself. Bad quality prints, expensive inks and hard to connect via WIFI.  Show details

I Love My EPSON – Its a Great Printer, But its BEST To Use the (XL INK) the Ink Lasts better and much Longer using the XL Type, I will strongly Recommend Using the XL INK as the Normal Ink Does NOT Last very Long, this Does what its meant to, The scanner & Copier Work Quite well also, I am pleased with it for the Price. xxx  Show details

This printer is a failure!!! – Hahahahah, I assume this printer is a joke created by epson just to laugh at us fools trying to get it to work? how to connect. The smart people at epson also sell the printer without the required usb cable... not your normal usb type A though, no you need a type B which haven't been seen since early 2000's.

Let's just say I would never recommend this printer, and i wouldn't expect your average joe to ever get it working because it has the worst setup ever. Epson failed miserably with this one!

Rubbish – A complete piece of junk. I purchased this from JB Hifi around 6 months ago to replace a HP that had given up the ghost. Although it cost more than the previous HP printer it had fewer features and generally felt like a cheap product. It does not have a touchscreen, the print quality is poor, it rattles, doesn't seem to clean the ink heads… Read more

Absolutely useless – We spent ages trying to connect to wifi but couldn't so gave up and connected by cable. Epson XP-220 – This printer is the best printer I have bought. The wi fi works well because I do a lot of printing of my mobile phone and tablet. The printer was easy to set up, it has 4 cartridges they are easy to install and the good part they are under $20 to buy.  Show details

Worse POS ever – WiFi is very fiddly, took awhile to setup, no intuitive display or way to tell what is wrong or what it is doing, to see the settings you need to print them out..? shaking it I can something inside of it, and feels like there is ink left but the software tells me there is none, this was recently replaced and has only done half of what it said it would.

Trying to print now and it spools the pages, disappears from the print queue on Windows 7, the MacBook shows the printer is Idle, when it prints it displays 'attempting to locate printer'.

I can see the printer on the network, ping it, access its web interface, but it will not print even after reinstalling the drivers.

Would never recommend this printer or an Epson if this is the quality. All I want to do is print to my printer..

* Print quality is good for the price

* Refills aren't the most expensive at the price point but due to the special chips, it seems to run out of ink before its completely empty

* Unreliable, difficult to get setup, no easy way to tell what it is doing

* Very disatisfied, would never of purchased it if it was going to be this bad

The worst – It used up the entire brand new ink cartridge for the head cleaning function. I replaced all the colours, and now they are empty and I have done no printouts. Also now it is out of alignment, so I went into the maintenance tab and it says it can't realign. It has never connected with wifi. I have up after 5 attempts. Would not recommend, waste of money. Do not waste your money for this printer – Bouught one because its cheap, but I was disappointed. The inks are too expensive and wifi doesnt work. I end up buying printer cables again. Do not buy! – I don't often write reviews on websites like this but I was honestly so shocked at what a waste of time and money this printer turned out to be that I couldn't help myself. the scanner works okay but it often would print the document afterwards. Others may have a different experience or perhaps my product was faulty.

Terrible. What a rip off. had several large sums of money taken out of my bank account after payin – I have set up correctly, but it will not scan. Cannot find out how to do so successfully. Good solid printer for general home use – I recently purchased this printer from BingLee and have found it to be easy to use and reliable. quality is good, the speed is good and the unit is very quite.

The front paper tray is slightly problematic, as it doesnt seem to catch the paper well.

The genuine Epson cartridges are expensive, i have been using 3rd party without any issues.

The supplied software, for Mac, is basic and I have ditched it. I like the iOS app, that allows you to print from an iPad or iPhone, but he print options are limited.

All in all, this is a good basic printer and scanner at a good price

Do not buy this printer – I cannot print so can't comment on print quality. Cannot get past step 2 of connecting to wifi.
