OK so far!
We moved into our new home 12 months and the bench tops are still shiny white and certainly not stained or chipped.
We are happy (so far anyway).
We moved into a over 50’s village (over 200 homes built so far) and I can’t imagine the operators would continue using Essastone if there were issues.

Would give this product a zero if I could
After getting our bench tops installed I glanced the edge with a bone China plate. A huge chunk came out of the bench but the plate didn’t break. A couple of weeks later my husband glanced the side of the bench with a glass. No broken glass but a chunk out of the bench top. Lots of small chips out of the top even though we NEVER cut anything on the bench. We have had a PROPER ( I say this because Essastone don’t employ them obviously) stonemason look at the bench and he says it’s faulty but Laminex denied all responsibility. The kitchen installer assured us it would be replaced but denied it when it came to the crunch. Would NEVER recommend this product to anyone!

Faulty Product and Terrible Response from the Supplier/Importer
Thought buying a "stone" Essastone benchtop for our new kitchen would be great, ie long lasting, heat resistant, easy to clean etc, it wasn't to be.
Our main issue is that is that we wanted it to remain pearly white in colour, not the sickly yellow it now is, it is still under warranty but no matter what arguments you put up one has to go to court to fight Laminex Industries and probably a small business installer to prove the product is faulty and does not fit its purpose in making the kitchen look great, once again if only we knew beforehand ...Read more

Very poor quality & their warranty means nothing to them
1 star only because 0 isn’t an option.
Have had my Essastone bench top for 3 years now. It has over a dozen terrible dull hazing patches in various shapes & sizes spread across both my kitchen bench tops. These patches have become worse over time & first appeared 2-3 months after we moved into our brand new home.
I initially contacted a Stone mason to do a polish on it & was told my issue was not fixable & that it was a fault in the product. I had this confirmed by 2 additional Stone masons & was told the only option was to contact the manufa...Read more

Has to be the worst stone suppiler as they dont care about support
when we got our first stone top the stone was all cloudy and they would not even come to look ,we then ordered the same and it did not even get anywhere our place as the stone mason knew that it was crook. Essa had no intention to solve the problem that expected us to accept without complaining i will never ever recommend them to my worst enemy they are a waste of time.

No Customer Satisfaction
My essastone kitchen bench cracked after 9 years I have been told that Laminex/Essastone will not
repair or replace, apparently its not covered in their warranty, The electrical point was 10cm down from waterfall and they now say it has to be 15cm . So now I am left with a huge crack. Also this product marks very easily.

Worst decision I've made....
Extremely disappointed with my Essastone bench top. I have been in my new home a total of 5 months and if I had the money I would tear it out & replace with another product. I have followed all the guidelines to avoid any marking to no avail and overhead lighting doesn't help as this picks up every water stain etc. I wouldn't recommend this product if you paid me. A high price to pay for a rubbish product - just don't.

Not happy with this product at all!
This product marks easily, very hard to clean with their cleaner, it doesn’t clean marks off at all! The warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. I would never recommend buying Essastone to anyone.

Worst mistake buying this product!
I bought the white concrete benchtop and have had it only for a couple of weeks and it is staining badly. I’ve rung the tech team and they are coming out to inspect (after a battle) and I’ve told them I will be reporting them to the department of fair trading for misleading advertising!!! So wrong to claim this product doesn’t stain. Even water glasses leave marks!!!!

Material not fit for purpose - Quality and customer service very poor
Product does not deserve even 1 star. Our Essastone kitchen benchtop (10m) is 6 years old (white colour). The surface become yellow and spotted over the past months over the entire surface area. The company rejects replacement stating "Regrettably the current issue is not a condition protected by the essastone warranty as it results from Ultra Violet emission exposure affecting the resin colour. Although colour change is infrequently detectable, UV conditions may create the colouration that has presented in your benchtop after installation". My advice is to source other products if you consider the installation of an Essastone kitchen bench.

Matt essastone
My Matt essastone bench top is only two weeks old. I have to agree, its the worst product out. Constantly wiping it, marks easily - even the stoppers on the base of my electric kettle leave marks which don't come off even though I have their cleaner. I wish I'd read the reviews before choosing it. Beautiful to feel and look at when first installed but I would never recommend this product. As for the 15 year warranty, I havent even gone there and by the look of other reviews, it would be a waste of time.

So disappointed in this product !!
If I could give a rating of 0, I would. Just had my beautiful new kitchen completed on Friday 9/9 and the bench installed; colour and texture perfect!!! But what about the water stains, around the sink, the rim from glassware- you simply can not know the disappointment I have from this product. Matt finish - bitumen is the colour (happy with this). I don’t want to spend the rest of my time drying with a tea towel to remove the water stain marks. This product should NOT be used in a kitchen especially around the sink. My only regret is I didn’t read these reviews. So so disappointed really not sure what can be done !!!

Poor response, no customer service when your benches are flawed.
Our bench tops have a clear flaw. One of the slabs has a distinct yellow tinge- this is clearly not simply from exposure to light as it is fairly uniform and yellow on the edge which is not exposed to light. We have sought to have them replaced as you would expect when a product is faulty but aside from a representative coming to make an assessment ( no real follow up for a couple of months) nothing has been addressed. These bench tops are not cheap and while ‘ mistakes’ can happen, there is no point offering a substantial warranty if there is no intention to honour it. I had hoped that the company would seek to rectify this in a professional manner. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Very disappointing.

Stay away from the Matt finishes
If you like the idea of a gorgeous Matt concrete style finish then stay away from this product. I’ve purchased the Matt finish for my kitchen and it’s a shocking product, certainly not suitable for a kitchen bench top! Marks incredibly easily and cannot be removed, even water marks from the bottom of glasses stain. Laminex came and viewed and I had no joy, they gave me a botttle or cleaner that is no help! It’s the worst product in my new home, never again. It shouldn’t be allowed to be sold as a kitchen bench top! Shonky!

Don't think your warranty will be honored
Our white/cream essa stone installed 2011 with a new build. Laminex supposedly claim a 15 year stain proof warranty. It has a large yellow discoloration, which I have had assessed. The report said this; 1. it is due to heat from the dishwasher; well the stain sits on the opposite side of the sink to the dishwasher. 2. It is due to heat damage from placing hot saucepans on the benchtop; well I have never put hot saucepans from stove top or oven onto the bench as I was informed not to do that. 3. It is caused by cleaning chemicals used on the be...Read more
nch; well I was advised not to use chemicals on the bench top and so I only ever use diluted dishwashing detergent. In addition to this the installation did not meet acceptable standards, according to the rep who completed the assessment. Also it does chip quite easily. Clearly Laminex are simply attempting to make excuses for why they will not honor their warranty. Never Essa Stone for me again!Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Outraged!
The Essastone throughout our home (purchased when 8months old) has yellowed on the horizontal surfaces with a distinct border masked off. The representative saw the problem and said it would be refered to technicians. Today I’m informed the warranty is negated as I’m second owner!!! The statment of “reputation built on quality they are proud to back up with 15yr warranty” is blatent false advertising. House just over 3 years old.

Huge Variation in the same batch !
Huge variation in the same batch, they insisted that there is no variation challenging more than 5 people and many photos. Thanks for Stone-Tech for Replacing the whole bench top at your expense.

POOR QUALITY!! POOR SERVICE!!
I purchased essastone Verona Mist for my kitchen benchtops. 3 years on and they have turned YELLOW.
LAMINEX (essastone) say I am not covered for warranty as DIRECT SUNLIGHT has caused it! Unprofessional
response from Technical Applications Manager - no contact phone number, no email address supplied in her
correspondence letter. I phoned Laminex in Doncaster Vic per her given letterhead. They had not even heard
of her! We have been in the building trade for over 40 years. Several cabinet makers have inspected our kitchen. All have said it i...Read more

Does anyone have advice on colour I was going to choose nero assoluto but im being told it will leave water stains bad pleeeease
1 answer
Due to binding agent in engineered quartz being resin (usually around 5%) in dark colours they reflect any changes in surface like oils being left behind. As the resin is different in make up to the quartz, when cleaning it is quite difficult to get a streak free look. Dark gloss colours are going to be a nightmare for cleaning in terms of a benchtop application in most instances. Even anti-fingerprint laminate, although better for protecting against day to day touching, isn't immune to watermark in black. The trick is minimise oils and detergents being left on the surface. That is, if you're cleaning with a detergent, followup that process with a papertowel or microfibre cloth and use a light evaporative cleaner, such as metho & water or window cleaner. The more grease, oils or detergent left on the benchtop, the susceptible it is to showing marks when touched or things moved over it. My rule of thumb with a benchtop is if you want it to be easy to maintain, choose a mid-tone or light colour with an attractive pattern or fleck as you will be less likely to notice the day to day fingermarks (visually) and it will look good for longer (not as noticeable scratch wise).

what kind of edge you choose?

Hi, what's the thickness of your bench? 20mm or greater?
2 answers
Hi, it's 40mm. I don't think the thickness makes any difference as it's the top edge that is most likely to chip not the whole edge of the bench. It just can't take the same kind of relatively small knocks on the edge, that wood, steel or even laminex can easily take.
I have essa stone, worse top everchipped straight away, sick of wiping it god knows how many times a day. Would have wood any day over this
