Exetel Mobile Broadband
Improvement in the internet signal
I previously wrote a review on this topic and mentioned the dropout issue of mobile broadband. (Took up the 250G for $40/mth plan and connected the modem at my balcony for excellent coverage)
I rang the technical support recently (again through the call back arrangement) to explain and seek help on the drop outs issue. It seemed to be a common issue as he immediately said he would send me a step-by-step instruction of fixing the drop out issue by adding a DOS command through Telnet Client. (a way of remotely connecting to a pc, in my situation...
Read more, the IP address of my WiFi) It has been 3 weeks since adding the command and i haven't needed to reboot my modem at all! And the speed is noticeably faster than my old TPG plan Thanks to their technical representative. With fingers crossed, I hope this has got rid of the drop outs issue once and for all!- Value for Money

Excellent service, I live in a very rural community where there was little coverage (Woodvale Vic)
As we are rural, and there was little or no coverage, we were initially stuck with a satellite service with another ISP with all the associated latency/speed and high costs associated with it.
Exetel's advert for rural customers utilising 3G on TV with a rural antenna caught my eye and I thought i should give it a go.
We have never looked back, the coverage and service has been brilliant, my initial contact with the help desk for setup was great, and for a fringe 3G service I cannot say I have had any problems with them in the past 3 ye...
Read morears, and have never had any reason to contact their help desk other than during the initial setup. I envy those of you lucky enough to have access to ADSL services that we can only dream about in the country, but I can honestly say that the Exetel 3G internet service has been great, and their entry price 3 years ago gave me nearly 3 times the speed, five times the download allocation, at half of the cost of the satellite service I was forced to use.... thank you exetel, the only additional initial expense was the cost of their 3G yagi antenna. I realise that three years on, prices are being driven down by competition and they are not so competitive these days, but it is still up there in terms of lowest cost of use for rural customers.- Connection Type3G/4G Mobile Broadband
Questions & Answers
I just got my mobile broadband yesterday set it up and it was functioning well for the first 3hours but after that i don't have an internet connection until this morning. Is this part of the drop out? If so how do i lessen this drop outs? I read in one of the reviews here that something can be done to avoid or at least lessen it.
