I made 2 orders to be sent to Italy in October - November 2010, and all was OK: the orders were sent by AIR MAIL and arrived in 20 days. I have now made a new order on 1 January 2011 of the Boxset Inspector Rex season 1-5. From the web site they say that you pay 20$AU for postage as international customer and you think the order will be sent by AIR Mail (it's lighter than 1,5 kg.)but the mail of shipping informs me that the boxset was sent by Australia Surface Mail - by ship: if it ever will arrive maybe 2 months, or more, will pass, and you can imagine, no aswers to e-mails ....
The web site is good overall and for information about new releases.
No customer service: in the last 2 months they never answer e-mails.

overall this is a good site to get some cheap movies especially when on sale, love that you can get older movies on blu ray quite easily.
easy to look up new and upcoming titles, easy to order online and buy online especially if you cant find an older movie you like in the shops, can sometimes be alot cheaper especially if movies are on sale. dont have to wait long to get item delivered to you, they also have a good selection of older blu ray movies.
i prefer to actually go into the store and purchase movies, makes the buying process easier especially if you dont really like using a credit card online, or if you dont have a credit card (like me) you cant buy it, or use someone elses.

Pretty good chance you'll find a better price on ebay or in your local target. It does give you an idea of the latest DVD releases however, and they used to have a store near me (now closed) which was good. A decent site, but it needs some serious work.
Looks on the surface like it has a decent range, easy to navigate website, doesn't lag and isn't weighed down with advertising or adware
Customer service is next to useless, most of the items appear to be out of stock when you actually search them, site is frequentlly down, the prices actually aren't that decent.

I used to love Ezydvd and have been a loyal customer for many years. However, the service has become very bad - as an earlier

Examples include:
- Pre-ordered the Chaser DVD - they eventually cancelled my order with no notification (partially because the release ended up being delayed) but did not notify me
- I ordered a present for someone in February 2009 - at the time it was in stock. However, when it didn't arrive for 3 weeks, I e-mailed them and was told it might take another few weeks. Three months later, it still has not arrived. At no stage have they ever proactively contacted me to notify me about delays - it's up to me to follow up with them and find out what's happening.

Really poor service and I will not shop there again.
Good range, good prices
Service is very, very poor now

The website is a good resource to see what DVDs are available and what new releases there are etc but i find that the dvds are pricey from ezydvd, especially when you factor in postage. It is cheaper to buy from places like kmart, bigw and jb for dvds. The fact that their prices are a bit dearer than other retailers might have something to do with the company recently going into receivership. Overall i think it's worth shopping around to get a better price
Extensive range of DVDs
About $3-5 dearer per dvd than say JB Hi Fi

My husband and I love ezydvd as the website has lots of information on all of the new movies and tv series and is very handy when researching a particular movie. The prices are great and they always seem to have a sale on! I recommend their website for shopping for dvds as it's brilliant!
Excellent huge range of dvd titles, special limited edition ezydvd exclusive tins are great quality and line up beautifully, friendly and helpful staff, easy layout of the website, brilliant specials are on sale quite frequently
Postage can be a bit slow and sometimes not all titles are available

This is the best site that I have found for buying DVDs. I have bought hundreds and now can afford to buy even more because of the deals that EzyDVD offers. The costs of postage don't detract from the price that you paid, and if you are buying several it works out at an even better cost. I was genuinely suprised the first time that I ordered how easy it was.
Huge range of titles, easy to search, saves a lot of money and very fast efficient service. The overnight delivery really does work. Sales are very much worth the look and offer fantastic bargains. Cheap postage.
None at all.

I only buy dvds from Ezydvd. Their prices are unbelievably low and they have a lot of the more obscure dvds that can be hard to get hold of. Postage charges very good and their customer service is tops. They were very quick to replace my dvds the one time they got lost in the post - no questions asked. I am always recommended Ezydvd to people. Browsing dvds online is so much easier than trying to do it in a 'real' store.
Best prices I've ever been able to find. Cheap postage. Fast delivery and well packaged. Customer service brilliant. Best range of dvds I've seen.
Nothing that I can think of right now.

Ezydvd has a fantastic database which allows you to easily access information about what they have for sale. Their product catalogue is large (to say the least), and includes information about released, out of stock and soon to be released titles. There are quite a few hard to find titles available and you can often find novelty items attached to some of their special offers. Also worth noting is that when they have a sale - its a real sale, not just a few bucks knocked off the price.

Even if you're only looking to research DVDs at this point, this site is a great starting point.
Huge range of dvds

Like a lot of the internet DVD stores, the DVDs are often more expensive than buying from a store, mostly because of postage, but EzyDVD gives you access to a lot of things that aren't put on the shelves any more. If you're looking for something out of production, or not really popular, which most places don't stock, try EzyDVD.

I've used them twice now, one of those times for a DVD two years out of production that no one stocked any more. Would recommend to any potential buyer.
Quick deliveries, and they carry a lot of stock that others don't.
No real problems.

Questions & Answers

What is the best site from which to order DVD box sets that are playable in Australia and not pirated? I'm thinking of TV programs like Downton Abbey, Madame Secretary.

Ezydvd.com.au and www.dvdorchard.com.au. They are both very fast. I pre ordered Harry Potter collection box set from both places and they are both fast I also ordered a dvd from ezydvd and they said it would take 3-10 buisness days to send depending on my location and it took 7 instead of 5 now by regular post because mail is a bit slower but it still arrived.ezydvd.com.au in Melbourne Victoria Australia and dvdorchard.com.au in Queensland Australia are fast and only sell Australian DVDs, games, books and are not pirated they are in Australia.
