Purchased queen size bed. Poor quality timber. Mis aligned holes as well as pre drilled holes too deep so the dowels too long and go through the timber. Extremely noisy and squeaky. Would not recommend if you want to get a good night's sleep. Thinking of just sleeping on the floor.
Could be better, but reasonably good.
I haven't had any problems with this bed. It was easy to put together, didn't even need the instruction booklet for most of the construction as it was straight forward and so I didn't spend long building it.
As for the 'squeaking' as most people have pointed out is little to non-existant for me and I'm a light sleeper, so I'm happy. The wood could be of better quality, looking at the start I was sort of worried that the slats were weak and would bend if too much weight was put on. But despite that, it's a comfortable bed and I'm well content with it.
Thanks [name removed] and [name removed] for your fabulous and speedy action in helping me. Thanks for coming and putting the bed together outside of your working hours . Im happy with the bed and would shop in the store again. I rate your customer service 100% plus
Time and money not worth it.
Bed took a lot of time and effort to assemble because of a few misalignments which made it very difficult to screw down.
Once assembled and mattress on, bed was very noisy. Planks used for the base are flimsy. Every body movement will also move the planks up and down, making an annoying wooden noise.
The design of the bed is that the mattress is enclosed around the frame. Therefore this is Not recommended for tall people. I am 172cm tall and I am still able to touch the base of the bed. This is really uncomfortable because the edge is sharp.
It looks nice but I do not recommend it.
Constantly squeaking at the slightest movement. I don't recommend it unless you want to buy a new bed within a year of original purchase - its not worth it
Worst P.O.S bed ever.
I bought this nightmare of a bed (in queen size) a couple of months ago and haven't been happy since. While it was annoying to put together, unlike Eric, mine DOES squeak and make noise every time we move around due to the bowed slats and that the cut-out's to hold the slats are much larger than the slats themselves. I would never purchase anything like this from Fantastic Furniture again.
Its just a bed
I bought the Avoca because it looked nice and was relativley inexpensive compared to other double beds available from places like Harvey Norman and Domayne. It was slightly difficult putting together but not overly difficult and now that its together it performs its basic function which is holding a mattress. It seems pretty stable and doesnt squeak or make noise everytime you move around, which is something most people would be glad to have. Overall a good bed altough I've only had it for about 6 months so problems may still develop, I'll just have to wait and find out. But to sum things up, a good bed for a good price, which so far appears to be free of any faults. I am a happy customer!
Solid, stable, doesnt squeak or make noise when sleeper moves around
