WHERES MY FRIDGE?
On the 4th of August our fridge was collected by a carrier and a lend refrigerator delivered. We had had the service man visit a week previously and paid $130. We received no job number or email communication the month. On friday 28 of August the carrier rang and said that he was coming on Tuesday the 1st Sept to pick up the loan frig. I asked if he was bringing our frig back? He said he didn't know. He didn't come. We have spoken to F&P customer service 3 times inlcuding a call to a supervsor to no avail. The time delay and the lack of c...ommunication from F&P is terrible. A 3 year old fridge with a gas leak is bad enough. I cannot recommend the carrier, the repair workshop, the customer service or the refrigerator because at 3 years the gas has leaked out. I have emailed the service department and not received a reply. What I want is my refrigerator back repaired. We understand as it was not under the full warrantee that we needed to pay for labour. Please help us to get our fridge back.
Purchased at e&s for $1,400.00.

I purchased this fridge after my Westinghouse RJ522V-R stopped working. I was initially just going to replace it with the equivalent model (WTB5400WAR), but there were a few things that steered me away. Choice gave it a relatively low score of 45% - citing "Very large fluctuations in temperature during normal operation" and "Freezer has very poor response to changes in ambient temperature". Choice gave it a food safety score of 28%. Westinghouse fridges, which are no longer made in Australia, have flimsy door shelving in my opinion. I've h...ad the door shelving break on another fridge, so this was a fairly significant factor for me. Finally, Westinghouse fridges no longer have gravity closing and require an extra flick to close. The salesman said this 'obviously open' feature was intended to avoid doors being left slightly ajar. It would take some getting used to I think. I seriously considered the new LG GT-515WDC. The door shelving was much more robust and a 10 year compressor warranty was compelling. It was well priced and had very good running costs. Choice rated a similar model (GT-515BWL) at 67% overall, with 69% food safety score. However they said the "fresh food compartment is not very uniform in temperature". I couldn't see any reviews of this product online, so I couldn't quite bring myself to buy it. Now to the Fisher and Paykel RF522BPRW6. Choice gave it 'recommended' status with 79% overall and 76% for food safety. The only bad point Choice listed was it didn't have a chiller. I've had bottom mount fridges before so that change didn't worry me. The door shelving is made of heavy duty white plastic. I've only had this fridge 24 hours, so maybe I'll need to re-post after a longer period, but my observations so far are: - tracks on the crisper and the freezer shelves are metal, so slide in and out easily - closing the door with the crisper open gently closes the crisper - while the freezer compartment is larger than the top mount fridge, the drawers take up a fair amount of the usable space - if you pull out the pastry tray, it takes the bottom tray with it - 1 litre containers rock around in the door
Bought my fisher n paykel last year. Great efficiency. I saved a lot on my electricity bill. Lots of space. Very quiet. My veggies last longer. Very easy to clean as well. Temperatures stay the same even after lots of opening throughout the day. large freezer capacity also. All in al a great value for money.
Questions & Answers
My fridge is super noisy!!! I barely slept last night. It was delivered yesterday - new from Harvey Norman. I followed the HN delivery guy's instructions and waited the requisite 2 hours before turning on to cool. Any ideas why it's so noisy when all the reviews say it's super quiet???
There's only one idea that I'd have, and that is, declare it a DOA. I'd get HN to get another one delivered tomorrow, you can't have a sleepless night sleep over a DOA fridge
Ive been told from a couple of sources that the newer fridges are inherently noisier, something to do with what they had to do when making fridges more eco energy friendly. Very common feedback that newer fridges are noisier.
