Long-lasting fridge known to last for years
Easy to clean

The freezer is full of frost and ice builds up
Our old F&P fridge lasted a fair number of years, after some small warranty repair, and we got used to the layout so the new one had to be F&P again. Similar experience to the last purchase, a brand new fridge has issues. This time it's an ice builds up inside the freezer, which gets open once a day, with room temperature around 20-25 degrees and low Canberra humidity. Obviously, the door seal is faulty on the two weeks old fridge. I think that's the last product we bought of this brand, Fisher & Paykel.

Terrible Long-Term Fridge
I don't know if we just got a dud or what, but we have had this fridge for just over 2 years and its really just not good, was never great but has gotten significantly worse over the last 8 or so months and is now out of warranty.
The first issue we had was is if you place food in the wrong area of the fridge, expect it to be frozen. I've had countless things on various shelves come out with ice shards, even on the default temperature setting or warmer.
Then, within the first 18 months, the spring-type element that bounces the fridge door b...ack to help the sensor alert you to the door being left open snapped clean off. In fact, it snapped off so cleanly and out of no where, it took me nearly 2 weeks to figure out what the piece that shot across the kitchen even did. In November (about 6 months after the last issue) the top freezer drawer slider has popped out and I think its snapped. If you open the freezer now, the drawer slides itself out and the only way to close the freezer is to hold the drawer shut and use the door itself to keep it in place. If I remove the drawer itself and view the slider, the arm swings freely behind the shelf itself. You can put it back and as soon as you slide the drawer out it pops back out again. The fridge can also be excessively loud of a night, sounds like something rattling and there's nothing we can do to fix it - believe me, I've tried finding it. Was the first Fisher & Paykel product I've had in a long time and I can confidently say it will be the last.

Great looks and layout, Poor build quality
Nice flat finish and the hidden door handles. Interior plastic and plastic door shelves are of good flexible plastic and not brittle that tend to crack. Layout is excellent and very roomy. Led light is nice and bright. Well priced. A temp reading would be a nice addition.
What you might not like...
The stainless steel finish looks great but needs lots of up keep with constant wiping of finger marks around and near handles. Any dings stands out unlike a white door.
The door seal sucks in tight when closing and if you have to quickly reopen its ...

Noisy rattler from Haier. Not the F&P quality of old. Lots of Quality issues
Well below standard of it's usual competitors.
Poor Construction/Quality control and has needed Tech attendances twice already since buying new from Harvey Norman (June 2020)
It looks good & works OK, but lots of underlying issues.
Discard memories of the Quality F&P brand.
We purchased b/c of our space limitations.
Expensive for product brand that's dropping towards bottom of the heap.. (built in Thailand unlike our prior F&P fridge/freezer it lasted 20+Yrs) Declined even further compared to even 5 years ago. Our initial Installer notted So...
Great interior layout - absolutely awful constant high-pitched noise!
This is the third Fisher & Paykel fridge with the exact same interior layout (with bottom freezer) that we have had in 14 years. There was absolutely nothing at all wrong with the first 2 fridges of the same model that we had, we just decided to pass them on to younger family members each time we renovated different houses/kitchens; we loved them. But this new model (purchased late 2019) has a constant high pitched noise that is inescapable. We have an open plan kitchen/living area (like most people these days) and, even though the television i...s 10 metres away from the fridge, the constant high pitched noise interrupts TV viewing, music listening, family life etc and is extremely grating. I gather it is something to do with new (more eco friendly?) compressor technology but it is horrendous. Can anyone offer any solutions? Fisher & Paykel? Pleeeease? I sooooo regret getting rid of our previous Fisher & Paykel fridge (purchased in 2012). :(

This Fridge can`t handle QLD Weather
I have two electric sensors one sensor for mass temp and one for air temp, the mass temp which most refrigeration mechanics go by is reading 9.3 degrees and the air 9.1 degrees. The fridge is now set at 2 lit dots, I reduced it down to two the other day when yogurt tasted warm and other things in fridge weren't very cold, also the thing about reduced fingerprints showing on the stainless steel door is rubbish and my wife hates having to wipe them off all the time.
To anyone thinking of buying one of these fridges don't waste your money and buy something else.

Not Suitable For Open Plan Living - Far Too Noisy!
I had the previous model F&P stainless steel upside down fridge for 15 years and when that needed replacing, the choice was easy. Despite having to replace crisper containers and shelves a couple of times due to cracking, my previous fridge was quiet, beautiful and reliable. What a mistake trusting that the new model (2017) would be the same!
It keeps food nice and cold, is easy to access and while the design is not as attractive or as easy to keep clean as its predecessor, it still looks alright...a bit like a brick and definitely more prone ...to external scratches, but ok. The real problem lies with its noisy operation. I often end up on the couch during the night due to a medical condition and this fridge makes that a horrible experience. If I have the tv on, it has to be loud enough to cover the sound of the fridge, which is too loud for middle of the night viewing and if I don't have the tv on it is like having tinnitus...a constant humming in the ears. (not a problem with the old fridge in the same location) It is a relief when it you hear the thing finish a cycle only to realise the permanent operational noise is almost as loud. Even during the day, this is the loudest thing in the room and often mistaken for an operating dishwasher. I call it 'the ever present ghost' - oooing in the corner. Having to put up with this lemon during the coming years is a daunting thought so, after another bad night of trying to sleep through the racket, I warn those who have any type of open plan living space....avoid this like the plague! I live in a medium sized apartment but I imagine that the echo effect in a large open area would be even worse. Strictly for the deaf. Yes, I have contacted F&P about this. They have nothing to say on the matter and The Good Guys Concierge don't return calls.

Faulty compressor had to take 5 days off work the delivery driver never turned up
No phone call or even a text Harvey Norman south Tweed blocked me just take your money and pas you on don't care how much they stuff you around
Never deal with again
Purchased in February 2019 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for $1,250.00.
We used it for one year. And had to return it because the gas issue. It was really loud. And people from the company also came to check, they reckon we should have change the compresser. I think maybe we were jusy unlucky. I loved the look and top cooling. Big storage space. That was quite sad to return it.
Questions & Answers
Does it have egg holders?
HI Wayne. I don't think it did but if so I would have put them out. I prefer to get my eggs fresh that have not been in the fridge and then they can stay on the bench or in my cupboard. of course once they have been refrigerated then you need to place them in the fridge but with so many compartments and shelf adjustments then I would use an egg carton or an egg holder from the market . Hope this helps. Cheers
Answer is in the manual
All my appliances are fisher and paykel so buying a new fridge of the same brand was a no brainer, however, the so called active smart fridge is anything but! Items freeze in the centre top shelf, and if you lower the temperature, the items in the door are warm. Very disappointing fridge.
