Typically Fisher and Paykel – Second time I have ever owned an appliance from Fisher and Paykel and definitely the last. Dryer is only a couple of years old and has never really worked properly-Damp clothes, tangling etc. Now door switch has failed and I can’t even get someone to look at it as nobody wants to touch it. Obviously another Fisher and Paykel lemon. Will stick it… Read more

on hard rubbish next year where it belongs and buy a quality appliance-probably Bosch like our washing machine. Will never buy Fisher and Paykel again.

TERRIBLE. Will not buy Fisher & Paykel dryer ever again – Purchased this dryer in late 2018 (4.5yrs back). Rarely used as we have an outdoor close line and prefer to sparingly use the dryer. We now have a problem with the heat sensor - after speaking with Fisher & Paykel consultant, understand the charge to fix will be $300 - $500 (no guarentee on price until they come out). Given the original purchase… Read more

price, and reading problems others have had with this model, I think the smarter move is to save for a new (non Fisher & Paykel) dryer.

Garbage. Landfill – Worst dryer ever. Takes ages to dry, bearings had to be replaced three times, last 3.5 years until the motor fully ceased up. Rolls sheets into big ball. Complete garbage.  Show details

Rolls sheets into giant ball. Read negative reviews before buying – I'll start with the positives: -Large capacity Dries small items very well. -If you connect the 'supplied drain hose' to laundry waste drain it works even better and faster to dry clothes. -looks great! - quiet (unless you try to dry sheets... Thump.. Thump.. Thump What you need to know before buying the very shiny, great looking dryer. … Read more

It can not dry anything larger than a tshirt.

It rolls sheets and towels into a tight heavy ball.

The sheet ball bangs and thumps and never dries.

I've tried every setting on the machine but nothing stops the sheet ball happening.

No.. I am not overloading the dryer. I'm just trying to dry 1 single set of queen sheets.

The only way to get it to dry sheets is to keep uploading and reloading the same sheets for 3 days. Eventually you pull out the damp ball for the 9th time fold and put them away damp.

The sad thing is that I am not exaggerating.

Fisher and Paykel your dryers are normally so amazing. What happened with this model?

Furious this machine could be sold with such an obvious design fault.

Fisher & Paykel 8Kg Condensing Cloths Dryer DE8060P2 – I purchased this cloths dryer from Masters in 21/4/2016, The first machine was faulty straight out of the box due to the drum not turning so I didn't start using until I received a replacement on 13/5/16. The idea of the machine is great and it does a great job of drying your cloths, shoes and sheets. But keep in mind it does tangle the sheets up… Read more

even with the reverse drum. Over the years its had very little use as its just me and until recently its stopped heating up and the drum has become really noisy, to me it sounds like the bearings are on there way out, I wouldn't know until I pay the costly call out fees. For the price of the machine I expected a lot more use out of it. I would of been lucky to of used the machine once a month and the reason why I bought this product was for the rainy days and over the years we havn't had many. For the price I paid you expect quality. The machine only has 2 years warranty and now I can clearly see why. If I was a family I would say you would be lucky if it lasted 2 years. Very expensive machine if you need to replace after the 2 years is up. If I had my time again I would be looking at brands with bigger warranties. I wouldn't buy this product again. If Fisher & Paykel are going to make throw away items they should price them accordingly.

Slow achiever – We used it sparingly, generally with baby clothes, as we hanged dry whenever possible. When we did use it, it worked, but took its time— 2-3h at a time—doing it.

Works like you'd expect, has few small downfalls but I'm still happy with this product – PROS: Very large capacity, and easy to use. Has a useful 15min "freshen" setting, and even a removable rack for shoes etc. Water tank has huge capacity so doesn't need to be emptied overly often. CONS: Seems to bundle sheets into a big ball so the centre is often still damp. Have had a few error messages, but open/close door and press start again seems to fix?! I don't have any problem with this dryer, happy with my purchase. Show details

Perfect!! – I found my Fisher & Paykel so easy to use, dries so quickly. The function that it does smartly, no need to place time or temperature makes so easy ... now my husband can place on the drier as well, even a child can do it , just press the on button ! Show details

Agreed on the sheets – Agreed on the sheets - what a design feat! Remove an important proven design element for drying sheets - a drum that revolves both ways - and replace it with one that only revolves one. Design of the year award; I think not.

Manufacturing fault causing constant breakdowns – Wish I saw the reviews before I purchased the dryer. We have always (we as in me and my whole family, starting with my mother) purchased Fisher and Paykel products having used many with confidence over a great number of years. the wheel below the drum as it wore out due to a manufacturing fault. The repairman even admitted that dryer had soooo many issues requiring repairs. One year after he came out the drum stopped turning again. After a few attempts at getting someone out (repairman got the dates mixed up) we have had to put it on the back burner. Got about 1 year of use over 5 years of having the dryer. Complete waste of money. Won’t trust Fisher and Paykel products from now on.

Tangles the sheets into a tight bundle – This dryer only turns in one direction, except for the sheet setting. Then it goes about 10 min in one direction, then 2 mins the other, then back to 10 mins. I've had dooner covers so tightly wound I thought I'd have to cut them out! I don't want to put a dry towel in with every load to combat this, as suggested in the manual. Really? That's a… Read more

solution? Anyway, the sheets setting is the only one we use because all other cycles only rotate in one direction and the inner part of the bundle never gets dry. What a disaster of functional design.

Very disappointing – We bought this dryer in August 2017. It has just stopped working for the 3rd time and we are awaiting the repairman to come and fix it at the call out cost of over $100.00 plus repair costs. The first fault was apparently due to „under use“, so we have made a point of using it regularly. It developed another fault last year and just stopped… Read more

Packed in just after 2 year warranty ended! – As seems to be the case with other customers, good old error code #4 appeared 2 years and 2 weeks into the life of our dryer, just outside its warranty period. We had it serviced today and it needs a whole new panel board ($500). Hardly worth it! In a world of excess waste, it appears this relatively new machine will be added to the pile.  Show details

Been nothing but a problem. Would never recommend anyone to buy it – The temperature sensor at the back of the dryer kept tripping. Shown by the technician how to reset because it happens frequently. Great when it works but is a Lemon – When this works, its excellent. No problems when it does. However, it's now broken 3 times in 12 months. The tech comes out, fixes, lasts anywhere between 6weeks to 6 months. It is incredibly frustrating. I have resorted to using my 11yr old dryer that hasn't missed a beat. Show details

Don't buy it, its a Lemon, poorly designed, poor customer service from Fisher & Paykel – Worst dryer I have ever had. Has lasted less than 18 months. This machine is poorly designed, requires excess maintenance and is not consumer friendly. It is engineered to internalize all the moisture as well as any loose fibers that naturally come off fabrics when being dried, the internal looping of this process through the condenser (which… Read more

requires excessive cleaning) does not catch all the fibers which then get pushed into the rear of machine and onto the heating element which is why there is a burning smell. The internal drum that has the punched holes at the back for air circulation has a gap which also collects fibres and fluff, the gap is to wide and is almost impossible to clean out. This machine rarely rotates in reverse, which is the most important factor in drying bedding, and, only on sheet setting, so yes, all sheets will end up in a big knot and damp as other reviewers have described. Poorly designed, and definitely not for families that need a functional dryer. Equally poor customer service from Fisher and Paykel as described by every other review. They will not give you a refund and will just continue to fob you off and send out an endless cycle of service technicians, don't waste your time. If you are a family who just needs a good working dryer save your money and get an inexpensive large vented dryer, I had one that lasted 18 years before buying this lemon.

After 3 years have had numerous problems – The dryer worked well for the first 3 years then one day it stopped working. Repairman came and had to replace the tension wheel as it had broken. 1 year after that the heating element stopped working and would come up with error code 4. Again the repairman cam and showed me the thermistor sensor reset switch under the back cover of the dryer… Read more

however it just keeps tripping about every second use. Additionally the drum at times stops rotating and can't seem to get started back up. Given my experience with what I consider a expensive condenser dryer (circa $1,500) I would expect it to last much longer as it does not get heavy use. I certainly do not recommend this dryer and will not replace it with another Fisher and Paykel product.

Wow, This is rubbish – Bad customer Experience, Dryer is only 3 years old and I get major works done every 18 months. I am amazed at the amount of complaints about this DE8060P2 on your site. machine gave me a fault code for a failed pump. My Wife Identified it an and called F and P with the issue. She advised it was a failed Pump and the tech showed up 2 weeks later without the pump. He advised it would be another 2 weeks and $140. She sourced locally in 2 days and I fixed for $60.

This time I got no help with the Dryer. They Have changed Rollers, Guides, Capacitors, and now the Motor and drive pulley bearing is about to go. They offered to fix if it was something they had fixed before but I know it is something different. This time it will cost for the visit and the repair, No thanks. Australian Consumers are smarter than that and most of us don't complain, we just don't come back

Our Samsung flat screen got a line across the screen after about 3 years. When the tech came out he said the part was discontinued and he would advise the Office. Samsung gave me a store Credit for the full value of the TV ( about $1350 when I bought it on special). I went back to the store and bought a bigger Samsung for $5000. Well done Samsung I am yours for Good and got one of your Dishwashers as well.

My LG Fridge, 905L french door. Great Service, Great Product and great response time for the 1 issue I have had in 4 years. Congrats LG. I will buy them again.

Fisher and Paykel have come last by a long way. They must be disappointed in the reliability of their products

Does not deliver what it promises – If it the product says it dries up to 8kg, you expect to be 8kg for any function, with no exclusions. The customer service, which I waited over one hour to be attended, informed that it's recommended only 4kg for sheets. I tried a load with only two sheets and it just makes a big ball dry outside and moisture inside. This is worse than the entry level models – This drier features a whole lot of “auto programmes” which do not ever dry clothes - they remain damp. The sheets setting tangles all your sheets into a hard elongated ball, and then the outside layer gets super hot, while the inside is still wet. Similarly, the time setting of 30/60/90 mins does the same. Basically, these manual settings are the… Read more

as this is a major fault. No one would have purchased knowing it would break down 3 times within 6 months. Another service call June 2019 - just after 2 year Warranty Period has expired. Drum bearing rollers had melted having to be replaced. $206.75 at my cost. As I write this review, 17 July 2019, the dryer switches on but won’t start. Burning smell coming from the dryer. Fault causes friction which could lead to a fire rendering it unsafe Was contemplating a 5th service call (maybe under warranty for the motor), but after carefully researching and reading other reviews, will cut my losses and purchase another brand. Ironically, when working, generally happy with the dryer. Only major defect is the sheets roll up into a ball and come out wrinkled. Never happened my old Simpson Dryer.
