Working flawlessly, very happy.
We have had this fridge for about 18 months now and is one of the best fridges we have owned, it is very quiet, holds 4 deg constant in the fridge compartment and -18 deg in the freezer and these temperatures were set right from the start. Love it, would buy another.
Freezer Icing up
Have had unit since new. Started having issues with freezer not defrosting.
1) F & P phone support suggested switching off for 2 days at a time. This did not fix it.
2) F & P phone support suggested there was an issue with the door seals - told me to check seals were clean.
3) F & P Technician came out but could not find what was causing error - suggested we were opening freezer door to often. Did not use freezer - still frosted up.
4) F & P Technician (another one) attended and replaced main circuit board. -still frosted up.
5) F & P have now contacted us and said they would credit the purchase against another unit. Looking at Samsung.
Freezer ices up
Freezer constantly ices up, fridge only cools to 5 deg at lowest setting. Fan at back of freezer ices until it cannot turn. I am cleaning out ice every 6 weeks in the 1 year old model. Fixit man is coming for second visit- after stating user error last time. He appeared to have no idea of reason for the issue and blamed my kids for opening it up to much (they are not allowed near it). Not happy at all and will be seeking a refund or replacement of a different brand.
September 17th 2018 Update: Two within 18 months
Usual freezing up issues...on #1 fridge, replaced and within 6 months a repeat followed by a fully frozen fridge and a de frosted freezer. F&P could not have anyone out to look for a week!!!!! Harvey Norman sorted a loan brand new fridge for that week and demanded a full refund on my behalf from F&P. Now I have an LG and realise even more how CRAP this model was. Never will I bet a F&P product again.

We bought a side by side F&P fridge model RX628DX1 on October 31 2015, and about three weeks later, we noticed that the top gap, between the doors, was only 3 mm, compared to the 29 mm, at the bottom. We notified F&P and on December 11 the technician came and said it was a matter of adjusting the level and tightening the loose hinge. Before he left we noticed the top right hand side door had a slack in its top hinge and pointed it out to him and his answer was: It is normal, some fridge do have it. The F&P technician has attempted to fix it uns...uccessfully for three times ; however, without success. F&P was not willing to replace the fridge nor was the store we bought it from. Eventually on Sunday 17 January 2016 after 45 days of numerous emails, telephone calls and the likes that the store manager, where we bought the fridge from, agreed to replace the fridge. We bought an Australian made refrigerator which has a good reputation. This is my worst experience with F&P! From now on I will buy AUSTRALIAN made products ONLY.

Recently purchased side by side fridge from the good guys very friendly and helpful staff . The fridge very quiet and keeps perfect temp I have had fisher and paykel fridges before and never had a problem highly recommend .excellent size for our family of four sometimes 6 plenty of room in both the fridge and freezer
didn't cool down
Oh in the fridges defence, purchased new last week, after 3 days it wasn't cooling in the fridge and it over freezed in the freezer.
being end of year the fridge was returned and I was given a different brand off the floor.
found out later that it had been transported laying down!
Love the look but hate the freezer
Bought this fridge/freezer in June - we live in the tropics - a month after installing build up of ice in freezer started. F&P send technician out, replaced a part - problem continued. I reported again, technician came out and couldn't find any problem. He did say that F&P were aware of a problem with this model. F&P replaced my fridge/freezer with another (exact model) and am now having same problem - freezer icing up. F&P have offered to give m a store credit. I would NOT recommend this F&P model.
I bought this fridge in December when they were just released and I have had problems from the beginning. The freezer is not defrosting properly and ice builds up on the shelves and blocking the vents. We have defrosted it manually twice now but the problem persists. It has become so bad that the internal fan is hitting the ice and makes a very loud banging noise, it does this at regular intervals day and night, it is so loud it wakes us up at night.
I have contact Fisher Paykel numerous times since January and their customer service is appal...

If you believe a technician has already gone out and fixed this and the other problems in all of these fridges which have been sitting in boxes in various warehouses....
Or perhaps in the factory the problem has filtered back and Harry Potter has fixed it.
I believe they wait for the client to ring them with the problem. That's why my 3 month old fridge is sitting idle and unplugged. Awaiting my second visit from an under-resourced technician system. Self employed and I don't work from home. $$$ Thanks Fisher Paykel. What a pretty but perfect piece of polished turd this fridge is.
